Cruising has been my thing. Being on a ship is one of the safest thing you can be on, and I'd risk it any day over any car, train, or airplane ride. Stuff like this happens and it's not every day that it does, but things are bound to happen from time to time. Don't let this deter you away from cruising - it's an enjoyable adventure.
I believe in the captain and his maneuvers to save the ship, but what he did after the damage was a bit cowardice and not responsible. If he had done what he had done and stayed with the people and helped them, he wouldn't be where he is now. The captain is a hero, but also a coward.
Interesting how the captain's manuevers helped save many lives. Great interview!

Royal Caribbean has the best security in my opinion. This happend extremely rarely, and I'm going on a cruise in a few weeks soo it's really safe.

This was very helpful to better understand. The captain was a complete coward & idiot, but at least he tried to save the boat. Still no excuse.
