  • @daniel0731ex i agree tht it was horrible...too unrealistic...

  • awesome!!

  • i just had a rehersal with him today morning. I am currently in All City Orchestra in NY. and we are playing Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola. His sound like undescriable in words. and he is very nice, great, musician .

  • @twopeeaeem Do you think that age 16 would be an unreasonable age to learn to play the violin, though it is for completely selfish reasons? I love music to my core but I was always too intimidated to approach an instrument or ask for private lessons. Lately I've become more and more drawn to the violin (and cello too), I am in love with their sound. Is this reasonable? I'm only asking because you've said you're in an orchestra and I thought you could provide a sound answer. Thank you.

  • @IchHabeFernweh14 Not at all! I started the cello at age 15 and it wasn't too hard to pick up. You just need a good ear, lots of patience, and a teacher when you start out. :D It can be a little frustrating at the beginning because it's soo awkward, but age will never be a factor if you've got the passion for it :D

  • hermosa interpretación que genera una envoltura total de mil y un sensaciones en un solo escenario =D, Ovación de pie, muy bien merecida.

  • what a sound *speechless*

  • Wow...a true MASTERPIECE...i;m in love with Ravel :x

  • cute XD

  • I love the sound of his violin.Very beautiful.I wish I could play violin like him.

  • lol @ 7:10 (pianist stops) -wait...hu...am i supposed to start now? ok......uhhhh.....o yea-(starts firing off notes)

  • I don't really understand cuz I don't play the piano till that high a level but do high-level pianists have people just to turn their sheet music? Like here?

  • @DarkNinjaStudent When pianists accompany, they have sheet turners. For solos, the music is memorized.

  • @DarkNinjaStudent no, it's just that the pianist doesn't have time to turn the pages himself so there has to be someone turning the pages for him.

  • aaahhh~ he's cute n good

  • its almost scary how hes a black belt in karate o.O

  • aucune musicalité

  • aucune musicalité

  • Its quite sad that not many people I know enjoy classical masterpieces, then again maybe alot more people don't

  • At 5:00, is that a slip?

  • @khira07 who cares?

  • @danamoult Obviously, I do.

  • He is good. A great interpretation. Although I still prefer Oistrakh's.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!catchy rythm x3

  • THE GIRL SITTING WAS TERRIFIC! :] JK i love the way it was played

  • THE GIRL SITTING WAS TERRIFIC! :] JK i love the way it was played

  • Am I crazy for saying this is such a fun song? it reminds me of children going on and adventure then getting a scolding at the end X)

  • Как объяснить плохой вкус или пошлость без того, чтобы быть обозванной снобом?

  • wow, what great musicianship!!! that was an adventure to listen to.

  • hehe 7:13...think this is a very likeable rendition. Am sure Ravel was smiling as well from time to time when he was composing this ;)

  • This guy's a Samurai

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!very very amazing......what a combination..,n_n,..... he has a very strong arm (the violist)..and a very dramatic great music...their very awesome, both of them........

  • Ryo ni uta! sugoi!!! he looks kind of like Rain, from Full House.....no , more like the guy from Coffee Prince. hahaha!!

  • Ryo ni uta! sugoi!!!

  • what a powerful movement...since the very start! BRAVO!

  • Also, I'm pretty sure I orgasmed in the last 15 seconds of that performance. My hair are standong on end XD

  • I don't play violin at all by any means, but I do syudy classical music at length and as a musician, this was such an incredible interpretation. There was a balance between the piano accompaniment and the solo ciolin parts that I've never heard before with this piece. I found myself noticing little things that I never knew existed in this piece. So Bravo for such an impeccable and musical performance Mr. Ryu Goto! :)

  • Very inspiring rendition, maybe a bit over-dramatized. But like it or not, he just makes it his own.

  • this is absolutely incredible! "surgical precision" such a great display of fantastic technique. I adore this performance ♥

  • Comment removed

  • This has to be my favorite Ravel piece.....the way the violin seems to cry out and how the piano speaks with it is simply enchanting.....It makes me happy that I took up such a beautiful instrument

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not familiar with the score of this piece...however, if you listen to how the two instruments communicate with each other...that's what really makes this performance stand out. The accompaniment isn't detracting from the violin, but rather complimenting the melody (the amazingly light touch the pianist has). They make an impressive team.

  • the ending gets me every time!

  • wow.....unique experience!! uncharacteristically heavy for ravel tho, but for some reason i dont dislike it......

  • クラシックの事に関してはまったくの無知だけれど、

    これは本当に素敵だと思う!

  • the pianist is michael dussek from London UK, he was my teacher for 2 years at the Royal Academy of music and is the nicest man in the world.

  • Indeed, who's the pianist?!

  • This is the most horrible Tzigane I have ever heard! It needs (please guys!) to stop having shit in our hears and say anything just because some violinist starts young their career. Forget a minute their name and what they have done before, just close your eyes and listen objectively! Even a non musician can make the difference with what is good and what is not. So please(!!) make an effort!!!

  • @musiqueducoeur I happen to agree... I listened to Perlman play this, and then I found this video... I'm astonished that his had 3k views and this has 126k.

  • @musiqueducoeur make an effort to discover that a performance is actually terrible? tsk tsk tsk... a performance is great because it instantly captures the heart... we do not need to scrutinize things by so many standards, if it sounds nice, then why go through all the trouble of convincing yourself its bad? music is subjective, if you do not like it, shut your mouth

  • his name is ryu goto her sister is also a violinist midori goto

try his paganini violin concerto ,he was so cute

  • Comment removed

  • oh my god. I think I'm in love with him.

  • @bishounenisland I think you can find better, even Physically! Look already in your country, Pinoy looks more poggy! Good luck to you and Ingat "ka"! (=I suppose your are young)

  • Haha, cute. Why did they just stop?

  • Honestly, this is the most entertaining and inspiring Tzigane I've seen yet. I love how he makes it his own and not just another perfect performance that must be true to how the composer composed it and some such because that isn't everything. Thank you for this Mr. Goto.

  • @graciaestel Oh lala!...

  • I keep listening to this for the past two years... I hope that one day, i could play the violin as good as him....

  • da todas las notas!!

  • omg hes so good im so damn glad that i saw him in person today

  • Woah so amasing!!!! God Bless you Ryu!

  • daw c coco martin cya... lol

  • what the hell is this?!

no sound idea, out of tune - kind of "gipsy" circus!

perhaps he has never met a gipsy

  • hmmm... odd phrases...

  • Bravo, this is hard to play, even Maurice must love the way that this great violonist perform

  • i've actually played with him before 3 yrs ago. I was in the Greater Houston Youth orchestra. and he was playing the Brahms Violin Concerto in D major. He sound is even more amazing in person. and yea that is a strad. its loaned to him. i was able to talk to him during a rehearsal. overall a nice guy and a great musician.

  • Comment removed

  • bravo

  • Is it a strad? Sounds so powerful! but maxim vengerov's version is always my favourite!!!

  • i just love him

  • Wow... sin palabras..!

  • excellent. Benissimo!

  • you don't like Ravel?

  • J'adore...Vraiment.

  • wooow!!y'a pas mieux...

  • he is playing Tzigane so relax .....

His style is very special !

I have liked him since I listened this progeam !

  • 這首曲子的名稱是什麼呢~~

  • ayumiayu01: the name of this piece is tzigane

  • 謝謝你~~

  • lol this guys a freaking prodigy

  • @aznKUNGFUjebusCRUST their family is luck to pull out two amazing violinist

  • His violin looks so small.

  • bravo!!

  • This is a vulgar performancxe -the elegance of Ravel

as well the gypsy approach -is totally missing .

No music making but furious voilin playng, perhaps he

will matiure with age-he wants to impress too much

    and fails .

  • Is he one of Midori sibling?

  • Yes

  • he is midori's younger brother. i remember reading that she said that he could play paganini at age three...but how well, who knows.

his bowing style is very similar to midori's.

this was a difficult performance for me to listen to. it didnt draw me in musically. strange phrasing and interpretation. hopefully, he will mature as an artist!

  • i dont really hope he will 'mature', i just hope i can pay a ticket and listen to a live performance of this artist -the way he is now. and i'll be lucky

  • well i mean if you saw there is a video of him playing paganini's first violin concerto at age 7 so i guess its possible

  • i think i'm in love with this guy.

    WOW... amazing performance.

wonderful stage presence as well as the music itself!!!

  • Wow, he inserted some Japanese traits in it...the best performance I've seen!!

  • hahaha very funny and talentous !!! Amazing!

  • 7:10 is priceless... great sense of humor, EXCELLENT performance...

  • well, not everything in classical music HAS to be serious... and I agree, its a HUGH performance!

  • woah. *speechless.*

  • It's so charming when Ryu swings his bow at the beginning of the performance.

  • where is the vibrato??is all in the tzigane..specially at the start

  • 07:23... his expression is funny. hahaha

    joker hah???

1st time i watch someone serious acting weird... hahaha

  • This is one of the best renditions given by Ryu. He also had charms while playing in stage.

It is often rare for musicians to look good, play good and perfect on stage.

Ryu is an amazing violinist. However, i researched on him. He didn't take music as a major. He studied in Harvard University and took music as a minor.

Whoever marries Ryu will be lucky.

Because he is very intelligent and extremely musically gifted.

Good luck to all the Girls out there!

  • Oh my my

    really wonderful

    what can i say

    great performance

  • he's so cute. (L)

  • @JaneisJ yeah i agree!

  • btw, who's the pianist? he had a nice touch

  • It's Micheal Dussek

  • @Figgzn2a he's michael dussek.

  • I think he's got an amazing technique.

    And he's hot.

Not too often you get to see a young and hot professional violinist. =]

  • My classmate accidentally broke his arm in high school; looks like he's recovered pretty well since then :D

  • look at Joshua Bell, the other violinist ~.^

  • Ryu-kun... I wish I saw you play in Japan!!

  • He is wearing a Ferragamo belt

  • is ryu short for ryunosuke?

  • Comment removed

  • which violin is it that you play on?

  • Hmmm i don't know how to spell it ..

    NPO法人イエローエンジェルから貸し出されてるストラディバリですね。確か。

  • In English: It is a Strad that is on loan from "Yellow Angel", which is an NPO. でしょね。

  • oh :o thx for your suggestion.

  • Yes, he is Midori Goto's brother.
