  • thank you!!

  • Yes break it up into manageable chunks. I usually time things out to an 8 frame beat. So you can plan your keys on 8s or multiples of 8. So you could represent your 5 seconds with 15 key drawings shot for 8 frames each.

Do a pose test shooting your key drawings based on what you figure the timing will be for each key. That way you won't waste time doing unnecessary animation.

  • so say if i were to do a 5 sec animation...would that mean 120 frames & would that mean breaking them down into small sections?.....

  • The tick marks on the charts represent the drawings. The ones on the ends are the key drawings, the tick marks in between represent where the "in-between" drawings are placed in relation to the key drawings.

  • so the space inbetween the charts is that where the inbetweeners go? consued.com...

  • Thank you

  • I've done walk animations before and this video is so useful to help me start thinking about what it might look like if the character goes from a run to a walk, or if a character is skipping but slows down to look at a bug on the ground.

    Thanks!

  • Wonderful! I was looking for a reference about the timing chart, I really appreciate this, so thank you!
