WOW!!! I just discovered this song a few hours ago, never heard it before and now I just watched your video. It's so breathtaking and moving! It's BRILLIANT!!! GREAT WORK MAN!!!
Great song, but their only good one. You can really hear their origins as a Buzzcocks covers band when you compare this song with the Buzzcocks' "Sixteen".
@MrGutley not their only good song MrG., I'm afraid, examples are too many; but the Buzzcocks influence is well pointed; folk rock inputs, political eloquence, take them very far from mere epigones though....
Why the hell have i only dioscvered this band now their bloody phenomenal why did they split after 5 yrs the world needs them, this song is like a dream!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. It took me ages to get this finished b/c my laptop gave up the ghost and my other computer is ridiculously slow. As soon as I have access to a decent computer again I wanna do more vids, so please be patient.
Whatta tune, i'll have to get up in the loft as i've got this on 12", still one of my favorite songs even after all this time, if you like this you'll like The Pale Saints as well.
...and I thought that early Pale Saints sound was original!

Would love to see a video to go with their Peel session version of 'The Funeral', one of the finest moments of the 80s......

What happened next , where did they disappear without trace to ?
Mccarthy should make a comeback as we're back in a ' thatcherite' type age of inequality and protest.

I was thinking of uploading this song, but it wouldn't have been a patch on your video! Thanks, Michael!

Very well done. This has always been one of my favorite McCarthy songs. Nice use of Francis Bacon!
