OMG, he has the combined accents of Delancey Street and Williamsburg, Brooklyn! Now I wish I'd never played this, I'm so disappointed. "Norma, dahlink, get me an onion bagel with a shmear, and a glass-tea!"

Seeing this clip has made me very happy. Thalberg was such a strong and powerful man. We all should take a lesson from him.

Amazing to hear "the Boy Wonder" speak. Sounds nothing like I imagined. Thanks

@Tecun85 I always thought he would have a higher, nasally voice with a thick NY accent. What a fine voice he had.

@melaniekg Indeed, I thought the same. What a shame he passed away so young, what could have been had he lived a full life.

@melaniekg ~ You don't think THIS is a thick New York accent, LMAO? Trust me, I was born and raised there, and his voice is strictly Lower East Side.
I just read the Thalberg biography and wanted to see a clip of him. Thanks!

@MadameBovary I just finished this book. I am in awe of Mr Thalberg. I wish I had read his story years ago.
Thalberg's voice is far deeper and much more New Yawk than I thought it would be. Produced immunerable number of classics. One of the greats!
