  • ...have an old recording (on vinyl no less) of E Power Biggs playing this at Symphony Hall in Boston.

  • Not only is Cameron Carpenter the very best young pipe organist around today, he is also the best looking and I dare say, the SMARTEST around too ! Cameron, if you ever read this, know that you were brought here DIRECTLY from Heaven, and God said he wants his favorite organist back someday to play that mammoth pipe organ that awaits you in Heaven!

  • there is NO ONE In the world today capable of playing the pipe organ or theatre organ like this young man! One has to experience him playing this piece live to understand how brilliant and talented he really is!

  • HI JOHN GREAT PLAYING. YOU ARE VERY TALENTED. I AM AN AIDES ADVOCATE . THANKS FOR DOING SOMETHING YOU BELEIVE IN . BE PROUD AND STRONG. ALWAYS BE YOURSELF. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE STARS AND STRIPES. WONDERFUL. COME TO PA. SOMEDAY POLYWOG690 . INDIANA ,PA. JIMMY STEWARTS TOWN.

  • happy 4th everyone

  • As pulmonary physiologist, NO one, scientist, philosopher or theologian etc say there is no genetic preferences in people and their sexual orientation. Carpenter has the specific genetic code to excel at organ.

  • As I tried to say in the first version of SSF, this young man is playing whan an entire marching/symphonic band plays. AT times he is actually playing THREE melodies simultaneously! FANTASTIC! I really enjoy this young man's interpretation! I think MR> SOUSA would too! I know nothing about this young man...and wonder where his "home" church organ is? I'd love to see and hear him in person! BRAVO! Cameron

  • @kasha1932

kasha, you should watch him play this on the Trinity organ. there are times Cameron is playing FIVE melodies simultaneously! 2 manuals, a third with his thumb and 2 more on the pedals (pedals were in split mode)

  • @BigOrganPipes MRBOP....How thougtful of you to write to me. Just where would I find this Trinity Organ?

Where would this organ convention be held this coming year? That would be such absolute fun for me!

Please let me know if you ever find out. This Cameron is one of nature's gift to humanity! I'd love to see a

    @kasha1932

if you mean the video. check my favorites.

if you literally mean where is the organ. it's at Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City

Cameron had 2 concerts there, summers of 2006 & 2007. he also did a Halloween night concert there where he played the 565 and some silent film accompaniment

for current concerts check out his website

  • Der Organist ist fantastisch. Die organman52 ist ein größeres Stück Scheiße als die M & A oder jedes andere Instrument.

  • Cameron is the best, period!

  • It looks like a difficult and unwieldly instrument to play, frankly. He is to be commended for trying to make something entertaining from this organ. There is nothing quite like the deep tones of this organ, however.

  • Absolutely awesome! I LOVE the very creative and interesting chord changes in this rendition. Wow, what a phenomenal talent!

  • Mr. Organman52: You may not agree with my opinion about the M & O but there is no reason to vile about it. IMHO the M & O sounds better than a host of inadequate and improperly maintained pipe organs. If the M & O was as you described, I am sure Carpenter wouldn't perform on it as often as he does.

  • Sorry, Sounds better on the Marshall & Ogeltree at Trinity Wall Street

  • @organman52 you would know. your mouth is full of shit and that's all that comes out of if every time it opens you mother fucking troll piece of shit

    have a nice day :)

  • @VD54K Thank you so much for your gracious response. Bless your heart.

  • @38Hansen i agree in some ways. this organ can't seem to keep with with Cameron's pace. this organ does seem to have a very "rich" sound but it's very sluggish. the trinity (since it's electronic) is quicker and can actually keep up with Cameron

it almost seems like this organ is too big for it's acoustics

  • shame on me. That will teach me to comment before the end of the video! Sorry.

  • Are you sure this is the Minnesota Cassavant? There is another video of him at that organ playing this piece at the AGO convention. Doesn't sound anything like this.

  • He is amazingly skilled; however, he just can't seem to hold a tempo very well. This gives some of his performances an abrupt and unsettling feeling of lurching.

  • he doesn't feel "at home" with this organ. you should see him play this at trinity. much better tempo

    check my favorites

  • Absolutely magnificent. This brought a tear to my eye. Standing ovation, all around!

  • BRAVO , BRAWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where's the organ at?

  • Stop criticizing us Virginnies, why don't you?

  • the organ in the photograph is the Dobson at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia

  • At the end, Michael Barone says it was recorded on the :Casavant-Shantz organ at Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church in Modamedie(?) Minnesota." The picture however is the Dobson at Verizon hall in Philly.

  • Cameron is a wonderful colorful figure in today's music. Thanks for the post!

  • where's the video?
