The new layout actually does benefit YouTube. If you haven't noticed by now, anything YouTube does nowadays is to make money. With the new design, instead of seeing your subscriptions first thing, you see popular videos, which will attract attention and get more views for people like Fred, therefore YouTube and Fred get payed. No one wins.

I am sure we will all adapt again like we did with beta channels, but what annoys me is youtube would rather worry about how a channel design looks, then users getting falsely suspended, that has to probably be one of the number one issues here, youtube in the meantime worries again about how a there friggin channel design looks.

Youtube as a whole doesnt have a problem with people flagging false copyrights and/or being shut down due to false copyrights. They will cater to the many rather than the few. Unless something was to happen to one of the channels of their poster children like Fred or Shane Dawson, I have a feeling Youtube will do as little as possible to address this concern.
sadly your probably right, this issue has not been expressed enough for youtube to care, if there partners started getting suspended then they might actually try to fix it, if it does happen youtube will probably realize just how big of a problem it has become lately to its users. I agreed with everything you have said. I really have the Like/Dislike rating system... I think it's better to have the rating stars because it helps me tell if the video is any good or not.
