When I went to Canada I asked a guy on the subway why EVERYONE was wearing those he said b/c they were comfortable, They were in every store! It was the summer before they took the u.s. by storm. My cousin & I swore we would never wear them. By the end of our vacation all of our cute shoes had taken there toll on our feet, We tried some on in Roots (the canadian A.E.) just to see. We bought them right there, we didn't even take them off to ring them up..just the tags. Ugly? yes. comfortable? YES
