usually a short, quick, chirp going into a gear, is just the tires locking up for that split second when the clutch grabs. a car with enough power to spin tires at that speed won't just chirp at the gear change, but will break loose anytime through the gear like in first gear. there are very few cars that can break traction at high speed in a gear that high. unless your tires suck...lol

@bmwdinamo No, BMW uses their own engines. You're thinking of Audi. They own Lamborghini and use the Gallardo V10 engine in the Audi R8.

You can buy a ko4 that will be around 360-380whp for low 10's to mid 10's. Higher teen's will be your 400-500whp gt28s4's and then tial 605,650,and 770 will be around. Mine is a 770

But i'd ask the owner of the car you might buy if you can take it to a specalized audi/vw shop or a general euro shop and have them check out the car before you buy.

@garrettej8 Difference between a your FWD Civic chirping 3rd and the RWD M5 is insanely different. While accelerating, all the weight goes to the rear, pushing the rear of the car down, providing more traction to the REAR wheels. As a result, theres not much weight left on the front wheels, allowing you to chirp your FWD car.

I like this new M5 less because it isn't a NA V10 but this new one does have the M3's phenomenal M-DCT which rids it of the E60's horrible SMG. My dad has the 2012 CLS63 AMG and it seems like a better car than the F10 M5 so I guess I would never choose to buy the F10 M5 anyway.

I prefer the new m5. It's more faster and imo better looking than the e60. It's not like a twin turbo v8 is something to sneeze at. While the exclusivity of the v10 is attractive, it's not really necessary, especially when this more powerful v8 is available. And I love the hiss of turbos :D
