It's really cool. Horses have two different kinds of vision. :) Thats why they get spooked sometimes at little things, because like he said, it focuses in and out and sometimes looks as though it's jumping out at them.
I never knew horses lost sight of a jump when the got close to it. That's probably why I have trouble controlling the more stubborn horses at my riding school when I go into a jump :S
Wow, seeing that I think my horse is amazing even though she doesn't like jumping that much, just curious though, if the horse looses sight of the jump 3m away, how do horse know that ditches are ditches when they are up really close to them because they can't see into the ditch from a distance, only up close but then if should be too blury to see. Any ideas?
now that is why my horse is getting so excited when we are doing show jumping! she doesnt se it like i see it. she's scared some times. she trust me when i ride her. im the only one that can jump her on my team :b
Thanks for the info! :)

No horsebook I've ever read has told me anything about their vision.
So suck on that.

But do books show you in detail. And the exact approach? No.

Amazing! So the horse has to really trust the rider. I have always believed that God created horses to be partners with man.
