Yeah that's one of the reasons... of many. Picture quality does matter to me which is another reason why I regret buying this fucking piece of crap! That OK with you!?
In addition to my last comment I also had a hard drive hooked up to this pile of c**p with loads of recorded programs, some of which I wanted to keep only for the TV on one occasion out of the blue that no drive was connected and insisted that the drive be formatted in order to use it! FFS! If you're thinking of buying this TV then in a word, DON'T!! It sux!
I'm getting SOOOOO pissed off with this TV, it's software absolutely sucks. It's constantly downloading apps and then deleting them. It's incredibly annoying! FFS Samsung get this bloody sorted. I spend half my time watching apps delete and being re-installed. AHHHHHH!
Since I can't get access to your website's reviews withing signing up and being in the UK (?), I am curious as to the latest reviews and remarks regarding the UE55D8000 Samsung. I specifically would like to know how it's input delay handles with both gaming console input and PC peripherals.
I am highly likely to buy this model as I have read it gets 33ms to consoles on game mode which I would assume would be about the same for the PC as well. But I am curious on some other details you might have
Hi!I've lust ordered the 51D8000 plasma's and I want to know if you'll make a full review for this model...And also,if you could ask someone from Samsung, why they don't release an application for Bada OS phone to be used like an remote???After all is theirs OS...The only one...Not Android, not IOS just BADA!!!
ID like to know where which sourced there D8000 from in england .As mine came with a cheap plastic remote which looks like one you would get with a £200 tv not a£2500 tv so no touch remote .Also i have by the glasses shown have the 2010 3D glasses pity were not yanks as they do get the touch remote and 2pairs of glasses. So which get your facts correct or is it meant for the usa.
I think having all the web and interactivity features are awesome, but do you think they'll ever abandon the home grown o/s approach and use Android or Apple O/S instead? Seems like a brilliant match. Any thoughts??
Sure the Pioneers had good blacks but if you had kept up with tech you would of know the D series are now on par with Panasonic T20 with blacks.
Go back to playing with you beloved Kuro and try and watch 3D on that none 3D TV. Lol. Pioneer plasmas are dead because they charged way too much for a TV just like Panasonic do now!
The remote for this TV is utter crap, I have this TV and the remote is a black plastic brick. Also you can't connect ANY digital content if you have a Mac, all in all, pretty unimpressed, yeah picture is good but so is it on a whole variety of TVs out there.
America is getting the 40, 46, 55, and 60 i believe. Im planning on getting the 7000 series its almost the same except for the remote. It runs about 2,876 at best buy
How about clouding that Samsung never seem to fix? This has been a serious issue for many users. Myself included.Samsung with their panel lottery and their clouding led lcds. I own a led lcd from Samsung from 2010 which I paid much money for, and the picture is awful when the tv gets warm. Especially at night with the lights out. Clouding like ....ll. Can't replace it either. So it would be nice if you guys could look for clouding. I kind of like the no bezel-style.
Is the D8000 plasma the successor to the C7000 plasma line? I'm finding it hard to guesstimate how much the 64" D8000 plasma is going to be - I'm having a hard time trying to decide between buying a C7000 63" now or hold out a few months for whatever it's replacement will be. If it's only a couple of hundred more then I'd happily wait a while
This question is strictly about input lag on this the new D8000 specifically the 55" model. Have you tested this with ps3? or any gaming consoles? I'm in Canada and I think your model # is UE55D8000 in Europe but my number here in North America is UN55D8000 does it make any difference or is it just region codes? Will it make any difference whatsoever with input lag performance or any other performance issues of your European model compared to our model? when is your FULL review available?
@marleebrz We doubt whether it will make much difference, but can't say for sure. We looked at the C8000 last year and didn't get any real image lag problems. We'll batch test it as soon as it's available to buy (March), so expect a full review in May (our tests take 6 weeks)
@WhichWebsite When is going to be released the full lab test. I want to buy this tv, and I'm waiting for some serious test. You sad that in may, its 13th of may. Please, let it out.
i've noticed when watching movie's on LED tv's that it seems as the movie has been filmed almost with a hand-held camera. is this to do with refresh rate?
@bkandkr What you're refering to may well be the motion processing software - which won't have anything to do with the type of TV it is. What you're seeing sounds like you've got some motion processing software switched on - usually called something like Motion Flow or HD Natural Motion. This will give the illusion of smoother motion but can have some unwanted side-effects, like giving the image a cine camera effect! To get a more natural feel we'll typically keep it switched off
@bkandkr i said the same thing!!! i always turn my smooth motion off, especially for gaming since it wont work, and it just blurs hte outlines of the objects in the games.
i live in the states so rom what i know is that the states is geting this tv in 4 differetn size's and they are 46,55,60 and a 65 inch i want tog et a 60 inh or a 55 eather why this tv look's very very coool i am in the market for a new tv my old samsung is 4 year old soon so i cant wait .to get one of these.
not local dimming, but edge lit. Moved the light's to the sides instead of the sides this time so you won't notice them as easily with letterboxed. The thin bezel looks fantastic, bit it's still gonna have very low contrast because it's edge lit, still gonna have dreadfull viewing angles because it's not ips and probably still gonna have issues like uneven illumination etc. Also don't like how they've removed the sides from the glasses that reduced reflections.
@300spartans77 We're not sure but to be honest contrast ratios are meaningless. Different manufactures measure contrast ratio in different ways, so it's not comparable across brands. Plus it's not a linear measurement (so 10000:1 is not 'twice as good' as 5000:1). But based on our tests of the c8000 from last year the black levels and White detail will probably be hard to beat
@WhichWebsite lol Panasonic have a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, these manufacturers don't state because they aren't as good as Panasonic or Pioneer, and no way in hell is a Samsung TV going to get better blacks than a Panasonic or a Pioneer Kuro.
@300spartans77 dud the contrast ratio on this tv is 25.000.000 to 1 go on samsung .com to see more info they got alot of new info that u want to see about so hope this helps and injoy
@Gangreen167 Yes it has local dimming. We can't say how it compares to other models until we've had it in our full comparative test . We come up with our picture ratings based on the verdict of a five person panel watching the same material and the same quality signal fed to each tv. Benchmark and reference sets ensure continuity between tests. We'll have it in the lab as soon as it launches and ad can buy one
I can not find a TV model number that comes with this Remote Controller? all I can find is the RMCQTD1AP2 Remote.

@AntNLucee So the TV 'sucks' cause you have to format a HARD DRIVE to use with it.
So picture quality means nothing to you?
