  • Whats more impressive here is his grip that handle is fat

  • @Dabullll isn't that the whole point of rolling thunder?

  • 9 dislikes, really ppl, awesome lift

  • i don't know anything about rolling thunder, never seen it before. what are the rules? is it a measure of grip strength?

  • Grab your rolling thunder handle and look at the scale of it to your hand. Now compare Felix' hand to the RT handle in this vid.... big hands are an advantage.

  • @Alan7997 Big hands are always an advantage in grip strength. Just as short legs and long arms are an advantage in deadlifts etc.

  • @paaaatrika lol, its funny cuz i have long legs, short arms, and small hands for my size. haha, im not complaining tho.

  • @burning1er Am I right in saying your bench is pretty good in comparison then? Short arms shortens the range of movement. C&J, and Snatch also favored people with smaller builds.

  • @paaaatrika u are very right. Before i started lifting a bit more serious my bench was above my squat LOL

  • @burning1er I'm not surprised :) My arms and legs are are pretty long. My reach, or "wingspan" is about 76.5" at 5ft 3/4". I do more than double in deadlift in comparison with bench xD Last time i did it anyway. I havent lifted serious in like 4 years.

  • @burning1er I meant 5ft'11 and 3/4" of course lol..

  • @paaaatrika 4 years?! why the lay off?

  • @burning1er money/geographical situation :)

  • @paaaatrika well i hope ur somewhere beautiful so you can go running and hiking and swimming lol

  • @burning1er Sure, but i don't like aerobic exercise anyway :p It's mostly pushups and the like right now.

  • @paaaatrika well shit man doing 40 push ups would be aerobic...

  • @Necronaut It would be, yes.

  • Lmfao, heavy weight but extremely short distance, lower the distance then it would be more impressive.

  • @HabboTeck Can you do it?... No?.. then shut up

  • hahahah wtf was that

  • Look carefully at the size of the handle - like an Apollon Axle, it's not sat in the hand like a dumbbell. I've shaken that hand, and it's massive. An Apollon is akin to the size of a coke can, and when you try to lift it, it spins so that all of the force of the weight rips your grasp open as the weight just heads straight for the centre of the Earth. Being that Mark's one of the country's best lifters, and one of the strongest if not THE strongest grips...

  • excuse me for ignorance but does 300 pounds count as alot in this? i never tried that but i know i can pretty eaisly lift a 120 DB but i guess this one is harder

  • @muzimuzi Thing is the handle is a lot thicker than the average handle of a DB. And it gets worse... the handle ROLLS as you lift it. A very thick, revolving handle, with 300 lbs attached to it. So yeah, definitely a lot harder than lifting a DB

  • @muzimuzi

Its not the weight thats the issue its the size of the handle its like a coke can in your palm and the handle also spins in your hand so its very hard to grip

  • @chef757 yea "rolling thunder" i have sensitive hand i probably couldnt get the handle alone =p

  • @chef757 luckily felix has huge hands..

  • whoa!

  • I can do that too ! only 2 hands though :(

  • im not hating on mark himself but that seems like a dumb lift. i definitly couldnt do that much but it only comes off the ground a few inches id rather stick to dead lifting

  • @08goldengloves That's because you're a turd who doesn't know what's going on.

  • how is this hard for anyone with a decent grip? do they not do farmers walk in each hand like 350 lbs+ in WSM??

  • @paintballerx123

Farmers walks use one inch handles this uses 2 inch handels much much harder.

  • @paintballerx123 You must be stupid

  • looks more like a 265 to me..

  • @thefanaticx Well whatever since hes done 301 in official event and is the record holder.

  • that must be really healthy for ur back.

  • What length does the loading pin have to be to count as an official world record?

  • Comment removed

  • jam rules. strong as well :)

  • awesome job man! Very Impressive!

  • Is that mark felix.

he competes in strong man on espn.

  • ah yeah i don't think he did it properly.

  • @fitzyking1 Did he close his hand around the handle (yes, he did). Then....not only did he do it properly, he did it the only way there is! You can't cheat that lift, there is no way to do it, PERIOD.

  • I have never even heard of these.

Is there a certin amount of time you have to hold it up for it to count?

  • u just have to lock it out then lower in a controlled manner i think

  • rolling thunder are handles sold by ironmind. they attatch to a loading pin and (i think) the handle spins to make the grip much more difficult. ironmind specialise in equipment for improving the grip (and stronman stuff).

  • Do you know the diameter of the handle ?? thx

  • hi, it's 2-3/8" inches thick, (just under 2.5 inches).

  • Just like the Inch dumbell 2.38 inches.. Thx

  • What are rolling thunder deadlifts?

honestly, i never heard of them, but 300 lbs is heavy for one arm

  • ..watch the vid?

  • the hard part is not actually lifting it, but be able to keep the grip.

  • this is unbelievable...most strong men with a good grip max out at 225-240..i have been training on this at intervals and it is deceptively difficult..you can do a poundage fairly easily and then 15-20 pounds more will stop you cold..unlike squatting and deadlifting

  • mark felix is probably all round the strongest man in the world

  • Aaah no. His best finish in WSM in 4th.

  • negative

  • I pulled 215 today and I gotta say that shit rips at youre fingers, thats an amazing pull.

  • dude shut up about magnus samuelsson! yeah i think he's cool... but you wanna bum him!

  • does anyone know the date of british strongmann this july in minehead

  • the second part of five is on ch 4 on wednesday 13 aug hope this helps

  • incredible feat of strength...and super cool guy...he currently holds the official Rolling Thunder record at 301 lbs!

  • just wait til he starts doing grippers

  • Badass!

  • absolutely insane. no doubt in my mind its 300lbs

  • impressive

  • shutup dude, who cares how long he held it he still did it. ur one of the best mark, keep it up

  • amazing mark, keep up the harcore training!

  • Is that 300 in plates? or did u pop it on the scales? if u weighed it on camera there would b no questions.

  • I could probably do that...if I used both hands. Felix is amazing.

  • oh my god awesome. Mark is the best on the planet no question.Great vid thnx.

  • Awesome Mark!!!

  • he makes it look so easy. you have to wonder when he might start to strain a little. nice job ! unreal

  • Great stuff!

  • Great stuff mark, did you do this today??
