  • Can anyone tell me where to go for an actual breakdown of what the Spirit selections do? I'm totally lost.

  • They fuck up most of the characters voice.

  • i love this game but how do you beat that devil boss at the end!! :(

hardest fight i have ever done

  • Better than Edge of Destiny, thats for sure

  • awwww....easy sugar

  • i didnt know that claud from ff6 is ripoff of galford

  • V Special still the best

  • @Ashterrs That's an odd way to spell "2"

  • I just purchashed anthology for ps2. Samurai Showdown 6 alone pays for its self. I dabbled in training mode for hours to understand the mechanics. Its so damn good.

  • @Thomahawk08 i agree and when you customize the spirit gauge it becomes a lot deeper

  • hey a ask? shin gaoh is the unkown spirit? yes or not please answerme

    thank you

  • galford = dog poo

  • por que tenian q arruinar un juego tan bueno como s.sh.1 y 2 con las sagas que le sigieron por que son asquerosas todia el3 esta mas o menos

  • Too bad there is no blood, but this for sure the best samsho ever, because of:

1 - the new moves and spirit edit

    2 - large character roost

3 - absence of bugs or one combo killings

4 - presence of a decent chain combo system (S.C.S). This really brought the game to a new level (can even connect suppers). Just beaultiful to watch and play.

No older samsho games had any of that, instead some of them had blood and fatalities, great shit!

  • No blood? Seriously? What are the Swords made of? Paper? Wait no, Paper cuts more than these swords.

  • also, you could always knock the weapon out of their hands as far as i can remember.

  • who cares about blood?!?! Games don't need blood, especially good ones!

  • aw man no blood?

  • how to select shin gaoh

    there any sequence?

  • Any1 can give me link of arcade emulator\?

  • Samurai Shodown V Special is a waaaaaaay better

  • Best fighting franchise of all time. I recently got a Neo Geo and a copy of Sam Sho II and I am totally hooked.

Great job on the review of this.

  • no blood?

  • All thats missing is the blood, not to complain but thats a factor that made this series so kick ass

  • WHAT'S THIS ON?

  • I know it's on the PS2...Not sure what else it might be on, though...

  • is in the compilation of samourai shodown anthology.....PS2...great price i got mine for 20$.....with 6 games.....but sadly no online mode...PS2

  • it looks remastered, lol.

  • What's the name of the freak on the left in 6:50?

  • That would be Kusaregedo.

  • Yeah but blood is an important fact of this game.

  • this game is so fun! My boy got it on ps2. Too much fun!

  • i think its perfect! samurai showdown 6 is great because the fact that you can edit spirits so you could put on combos from iv,rage mode from iv, and yeah..it's great man..if i were to reveiw this game..id give it a9.3..its great the only thing bad is the dialog but, its good for laughs..lmao

  • i got this game in the Samurai Shodown Anthology for PS2 and i think its pretty damn impressive. Its got so many characters, fighting styles and extra features that its hard to get an overview. Theres simply a lot of stuff to play around with, and thats awesome!

If only they had redrawn the sprites in hi-res, but i know... it would have taken a helluva lot of time. At least the backgrounds are gorgeous!

  • where and how did you get Samurai Shodown Anthology for PS2? Gamestops around here(Texas) don't even carry it for the PS2, they only have it for the PSP.

  • I live in Europe but i think my advice would probably go for you as well: Find it online!! Gamestop has a lousy selection of PS2 and obscure titles so i always find this kind of thing online. Im pretty sure you guys over there have gotten a ps2 release as well by now, so search and you shall find! (i hope... if not, try asking some store to get it home)

  • does the extra blood code work for samsho 4 in anthology cause i can't get it to work

  • The game automatically has the extra blood in it from the start....so that's why the code won't work. ;)

  • thanks for letting me know

  • Great review,

for me this game would be a must-get but with the collection also including the previous 5 or 6 games, it is now a super-must-get!

  • FROM boston (in boston accent) wicked awsome :) ss6 ftw

  • its not samurai showdown without the fatalities

  • samurai show games always got good music

  • Flame Of The Conqueror FTW!!!

  • i have anthology now. jus got it the other day for my psp. all the games are great alil tough on the difficulty setting though but the ony thing that bugs me is why in the hell is samurai showdown 6 game screen reduced.u cant even make it bigger damn but other than that its still a solid game

  • i wonder the samething too

  • My GOD! As if I'm not going to buy this!

  • i don`t like soulcalibur but i LOVE samurai showdown from 1 to 6 i remember using my bred money to play ss 2 in arcades :>

  • march 10th is almost here and i pre ordered mine! =)

  • u mean samurai showdown anthology? i pre ordered it too

  • Yea what sucks though is that it's been pushed back again.....wonder why snk is delaying it so damn much! i been anxious 2 play that game since last year wen it was supposed 2 be released december of 2008. they said march 24 so i dunno kno hopefully it will be out if not their saying april 7 tsk....only time will tell wen they release 1 of Snk's greatest sword fighting games.

  • cant wait march 10 and march 3 king of fighters 98 remix

  • i love this game,

  • hey is this gonna be on psp version coming up?

  • where did you get this game again?

  • nice vid, i myself have always loved the samurai showdown series... even part 3 lol.

  • Hell, part 3's one of my favorites.

  • @Mickeymac92 how to select shin gaoh there any sequence?

    please answerme

  • Man...exactly when is this anthology supposed to get here?

I hear it'll be anywhere from late 2008 to mid 2009 lol.

    Nice review BTW.

  • it should be out december 31

  • It got pushed back to mid-to-late February, sadly.

  • its ok itll be better.

    i pre orderd already!!!!!!!!11

  • when does this game come out in us?

  • One of the biggest reasons I want Anthology (which has been confirmed)

  • this is the only samurai shodown title I havent palyed =(

  • its not my favorite of SNK's series - but i really REALLY look forward to the anthology so i can play this game (and nr. 2 & 3 - i miss those two). It sucks that SS5 special apparantly isnt gonna be in the collection anyway, but i should just be happy it gets to Europe at all

  • hey

    nice review

this game is one of the best 2 d games i played

if someone wants a copy ,ask me this rocks

genjuro en ukyo are the best

  • Why is that Samurai Showdown never really got the love that King of Fighter got? I mean, bring this game over here already. Sony should just make this avail. online to be purchase or something, the only even close to this game was guilty gear and that is too weird for me.

  • Guilty Gear is a beautiful game. Every character plays really uniquely and deep. I personally like Samurai Showdown a lot more than King of Fighters.

  • Weapon break was actually in the 1st one, just very rare, 2nd had it occur on successful super connect... anyway this looks great, great review, 2 is still the best ever tho :-P

  • It's one of the better games in the series... although, you're mispronouncing the title (and several of the character names).

For those wondering, the game is going to finally see a domestic release when the Samurai Shodown Anthology is released for PS2/PSP/Wii. The version contained therein also includes redone voices for most of the originals (so they sound like they have in all the other games).

  • great review

  • even without the blood and finishing moves this game still looks fun.

  • @defchild25 yup.. I smell aroma of sadistic when the blood and finishing moves are still implemented and with this renewal.. It's still looks fun :)

  • mugen you can have over 1000 character lol

  • The vast majority of which are garbage and/or bad spriteswaps of Kung Fu Man.

  • CONTINUE... (part 2 of 2)

I'm sick of this limited vs. screen, worn out, caged fighting style for side-scroll games. I want to see some awesome action, amazing backgrounds, hordes of enemies getting busted up, and eye-popping bosses again!! I want to feel that adventure again! I really miss the good old days...

  • WAAAAAH!!!!

    This isn't Guardian Heroes!!

    WAAAAAAH!!!!!!

  • It looks awesome, as always... But why don't they make a version that has levels and big bosses at the end of each stage like the good old days??? Imagine these great looking hand drawn characters with all those moves in a game like that!! Double Dragon had only about 8 or 9 fighting moves but, it is still, one of the greatest fighting games ever made! CONTINUE... (part 1 of 2)

  • They do make games like that, they're just in 3D now, so if they did make a Samurai Shodown Beat 'em up, it would probably be a 3D one like Soul Calibur Legends. I suppose they could just make it a different mode like in Tekken, and then they could do it in 2D, but considering that they're making the move to 3D( again) with the next game, I highly doubt they'll even do that.

  • Computer graphics SUCK when creating characters. Everyone looks fake and lifeless. Clothing looks like rubber. 3-D is so GOD-DAMN worn out because, it's only one style. All you can see is the fucking back of a fucking character's head! Or even nothing at all but, a stupid gun! What the fuck is that!? When watching a boxing match, the cameras try to keep the boxers horizontally on screen, so to allow boxers to be evenly seen on screen. The "character", who is "you", must be seen.

  • You don't know what youre talking about faggot.

  • I'll KILL YOU dick sucker!

  • Yeah, why are you now talking about boxing and FPS games? Also, why exactly were you talking about Brawlers when the video is about a 2D-Fighting game?

You are either really confused, or you have a lot of opinions that you want to put out there, but keep on putting them in the wrong place.

  • Bunch of fucking retards... HAHAHAA!!

  • Agreed! ther's no soul to 3d models!!

  • Hey, if you really want to play a beat 'm up with fighting game characters, you should try Guilty Gear Isuka for the PS2, or Guilty Gear Judgement for the PSP. I haven't played Isuka, but I did play Judgment, and it was pretty good; the characters were pretty interesting( all 20 of them), and they had quite a lot of moves.

  • Also, it's only $6 at the Playstation Store, and you've purchased it you can download it to up to 5 different systems, so if you have a friend with a PSP you can play co-op without having to spend more money. If you own a PSP, I highly recommend it to.

  • But if you don't, Isuka's not a bad choice, if you can find it cheap. It's more of an extra mode in Isuka, so don't expect it to be amazing or anything, plus I hear the main game isn't all that great, but still you might like it.

  • Why did your comment get rated down? That makes no sense! :O

  • Got me, I'm just tryin' to help. This guy's looking for a good Final Fight-style beat 'em up, and those are the most recent ones that I know of that are any good. Oh well.

  • did this game come out in the u.s already cuz i want to get it?

  • ohhh shit me want game!

  • samurai showdown 2/5d that will be nice

  • I love this game. But what I want to know, is why under related videos that STD Testing (Safe Sex, Sexy Sex #2) comes up?

  • Nice review. You'll either love or hate this game. I like what I see judging from all the gameplay clips of this posted on youtube.

  • awsome

  • cool
