No, he's saying that he is playing Satriani's song with Vai's guitar. Satriani and Vai were taking lessons together from the same instructor, but Satriani was in the more advanced class. he ended up teaching Vai the stuff he learned in class every day... or something like that.

So he is using the student's guitar to play the instructor's music.
