  • I am MORE sorry for those INNOCENT people these people KILLED. The real ENEMY is the president himself.

  • STAY WITH YOUR FAMILIES AND BE THERE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES! STAY HOME!!!!!!

  • STAY WITH YOUR FAMILIES AND BE A PARENT!

  • STAY WITH YOUR FAMILIES AND BE A PARENT!

  • I finished 12 years of active service and was discharged in 2009. I had always served with pride and honor, but after I actively sought help for my CPTSD, the VA brushed me off with a single, one hour shrink session and sent me on my way. I was severely disillusioned and eventually chose to leave the country I fought for with all my heart. Your video shows nothing less than the truth and for that I am sincerely grateful. Thank you so much for your time and effort. fmr 2papa Bco. 3/75rgr

  • All Veterans need to work together to help others get through with their chin held high. We cannot count on others to understand unless they, themselves, have been there. Stay positive.

  • Thank you. I'm glad civilians are doing something about this, because God as my witness, the Military isn't. You know, there are posters on the base that have pictures of soldiers and they say "Not All Wounds are Visible." Its a joke. The Army has a lot to answer for, and they need to take responsibility. I killed so many ppl in Afghanistan that it would make a "normal" person SICK! What am I supposed to do now? I am tired. I'm so glad civilians are listenening.

  • @Yeshua001 You did what you had to. I didn't walk in your shoes, but I did survive a cult experience so I know what ptsd is like in a smaller way. Education helped me, but through books, not school. Learning about Robert Kiyosaki helped me, and he was a Marine helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Don't go inwards and don't feel you have to hide; the world is still here and there is still more you just have to figure out how to connect with it how you want to.

  • @Yeshua001 Thank you for preserving our way of life also. People like you are what made me be able to read books and grow myself. We all have different reasons for life, and sometimes having gone down the rabbit hole is the only way to find yourself, don't give up hope, because you're in the drivers seat.

  • @Yeshua001 What you were involved in was more stimulation than in civilian life unless you're high up in business or an explorer imo. Kiyosaki is making 2 million a month now b/c he channeled the memories into business. He says he has an unfair advantage because his friends died, so he can't give up. There is a Time interview with him on YT. I heard a saying once it said the only way to get rid of memories is to make new ones. Maybe it's true maybe not.

  • I served..and saw more death and hurt than any man should. Give us a break and show us vets the respect we need and warrent. Semper Fi.

  • They denied my father the first time he applied for disability, they said he wasn't in combat in Vietnam. They should have asked the son of a Vietnam Vet. Have you ever had to wake your father up with a stick so he wouldn't hit you, or cry outside on the sidewalk on the 4th of july because your father is in the front yard yelling "incoming". He did recieve 100% disability for severe PTSD recently.

  • You can help. Every $10 donation to a raffle (win $50K) allows us to train service dogs for these men and women. Think about it? helpkyriadotcom

  • Most people who go through a traumatic event have some symptoms at the beginning. Bad memories of the traumatic event can come back at any time. You may feel the same fear and horror you did when the event took place. You may have nightmares. You may find it hard to express your feelings. This is another way to avoid memories. If you have PSTD you need to cope with the illness and move forward with your life.

  • thank you for posting this. God bless our troops.

  • The thing is, you can just as easily suffer from PTSD due to conflict in marriage and career building.I doubt very many people are not effected to some degree by the disorder. We need all the help we can to combat it's terrible results.

  • now that i think of it i think my Grandfather has PTSD when anyone talks about like the war he just zones out....he was in korea

  • GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

  • i dont understand why people are hating solider have they even thought that soldier join the military knowing they might not come home to there wifes to there fammilys but they go to keep people who hate them safe WHO FUCKING HATE THEM but they do it they die for those people who hate them im 12 and i want to sign up for the USMC when im old enough but fuck the poeple who hate soldiers

  • @halodude178 great choice of words..but i completely understand this problem.. people just dont give a crap about soldiers anymore its sick

  • How does it feel to be tools of politicians and to fight for Arab oil?

  • @YafatFuqa you are a complete idiot.

  • @xlr8n99 How so buttbreath you know something I dont Last time I checked we are not interested in helping any countries that dont have something we can steal Look how all the contractors are lining up to get a Libya's oil You go over and kill and disable yourselves for the rich mans profit but dont start crying when he cuts your benefits cause its coming Your the "COMPLETE IDIOT"

  • Be strong my fellow soldiers

  • Been There done that but never wanted the T shirt! I think you did a great job with this video. It says alot in many different ways! OIF Vet!!!!

  • I am a 100% total and perm disabled PTSD vet and the VA does not treat me like garbage, Not all hospitals and vet centers are the same. So don't point fingers at the whole VA system. The VA saved my life!! and the life of two of my soldiers. Where am I talking about??? North or South Dakota, Montana those facilities. So if you are getting screwed so bad there Move!!

  • There is NO sufficient help through government facilities, or other traditional ones. All they want to do is shove pills down their throats. So instead of trying to treat the after effects why not go strait to the source and stop sending our bright young men and women into other countries?

  • @dancinjansen18 Agreed, Killing isnt exactly healthy. Here's the drug that rebuilds cortizol resceptors & its 100% herbal. Phosphatidyl Serine Matrix. Touche' I AM Infancy PTSD(for life), top that bitches. Generational abuse/child abuse. This pill along with a ZERO caffiene diet equals = A switch from the Amygdalla(fight or flight) to the frontal lobe rational. You cant just make this shit up, The secret is to turn the fear into anger, then diffuse, realize the world is whats messed up

  • its really sad to read all these comments. We give so much for our country they should look after you all Vets. I salute you.

  • Dont seek any kind of help thru any gov health care ptsd vets. you will be sorry. your better off dead to them, dont surrender vets not now not ever. best of luck.

  • I love and respect all good troops, and I will never foret their sacrifices I just hope I'll be remembered fr mine when I sign up.

  • I am not a disable vet. I did pick some dent and dings in Ft. Bragg and the 101st in Vietnam. Combat? My Spine was fractured by my jumps.

    Rich

  • We showed this to our vets mens group..sometimes slowley, sometimes quickly as a team of like mined tears of soldiers, sailors airman and marines of all eras, we bond as a team, forever in healing, and in battles of stigmas jolts from outsiders, we keep it real..

Bruce sent Max Weinberg, his drummer to our town for a concert to raise money for our homeless veterans, music heals, and artists who help us make transition better for all communities. thank you. wwwalumniveteransorg

  • Used and abused. You can see how this country has fallen.

  • my husband commited suicide when he disapeered. he was severly disabled from an ied attack. i miss him every day but he doesnt have to suffer anymore.

  • @imissmymarine i'm so sorry for your loss. god bless you.

  • I'm trying to bring attention to the plight of the returning veterans with PTSD. Please listen to my song: "No Shame In Cryin."The song is an older veteran (I'm a Vietnam medic vet) talking to the younger guys just returning to get the help they need. No Shame In Cryin airplaydirect link on my website below

  • America isnt at war, the military is at war, America is at the mall.

  • Greater awareness of PTSD is essential. It's not a failure, it's a natural response to the horrors of war and abuse. These are our brothers & sisters, and we need to take care of them, not assume they'll just be fine.

  • you know, they say that its ok to have PTSD. that it wont affect getting a good job. EFFIN BULLSHIT. When they find out Im dealing with PTSD, they look for any reason not hire me. Now im job less, fighting to use my GI-bill, and dealing with "PTSD". how is it ok? there is no cure for it, just living with it. this is why many vets commit suicide. casue theres no help, the VA doesnt care, really they dont.

  • @imissmymarine I am so sorry, i will pray for you. My sister was married to a Navy seal and when he got back from war, he drove them all the way across the country and dropped them off in my driveway with nothing but the clothes on their back.

blessings to you and your family.

My son is currently on blackout in Afghanistan and already injured, traumatized and still has 8 more months.

I know its hard...wish i could say more

  • @imissmymarine i suffer with severe ptsd i was shot and hit with an ied in afghanistan and well honostly its a hard thing to ever overcome ive been back a year now and recovering from my injuries and most of its hard to over come what me and my brothers went through im sorry mam

  • @21usarmy21 well ty for what you have done for me and my daughter. as for my husband he took his life when he disapeered. just get the help you need and remeber you have a friend forever within me.

  • The health of a country it is closely related to the level of cares and gratitute to whom served and took defense of the nation´s interest.

  • To see a program that is really working to help vets cure PTSD:, see the Youtube video: "Taking The Hurt Out Of The Hurt Locker".

  • using bruce for this video is a slap in the face to us war veterans. bruce was a draft dodger a war protester, a nobama suupporter yet , he keeps quiet about the war now that nobama is in office. hope this bastard gets cancer like t kennedy, you anti american bastard

  • Sorry for being a hard ass but sometimes it takes a hard ass to provoke action. Who doesn't have PTSD? The wealthy? The elite? The people who keep perpetuating a 3000% profit off killing? Just some thoughts. I think it's a good video and I think it's important for folks to know that McCain said he supported the soldiers and then voted NO to fund the VA. Why do you think that is? Because he knows the soldiers and veterans will likely stop voting and simply not do anything about it.

  • I'm a veteran of OEF and OIF, did 2 tours in the middle east, and I think you need to shut your ignorant mouth. These men and women knew damn well what they were getting into when they signed up, and they sacrificed limbs, body parts, their mental health, even their lives. Each soldier represents a little piece of freedom you enjoy and take for granted each day. They do it anyway. How about you show a little fucking respect, asshole.

  • @poopjuice0 Hey bro I am also a OIF/OEF veteran. I did 4 tours are an infantry marine. When i signed up i knew i could lose my life. But no one told me the war i would bring back home. Alot of us prior to 9/11 never knew what combat would do, and was never informned on the real struggle. So we didnt sign up for that....But i agree with you, respect us and better respect freedom!!!

  • @poopjuice0 Very few wars can be justified. I have plenty of friends that were combat veterans. I am a veteran like my dad and his brothers. The current wars could have been prevented. You served to the defend freedom of expression so why use profanity ?

  • "we felt like War Veterans in America are marginalized and discounted and it's wrong. "

fucking aye. i thought i was the only one that saw it. its nice knowing other ppl agree.

  • @hellsingorg2 same in the british armed forces, the elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about

  • Where in the fuck do u get off.... I don't see anyone esle agreeing with your fucking comment....You need 2 walk around with some panties on like the BITCH

  • @kratos9119

    Your an evil person

  • Listen

  • Good video.

I took the time to read all the comments, ans I wish I could forcibly enlist some of the demented assholes who posted some really venemous stuff, and send them to a war-zone.

  • What song?

  • You're Missing by Bruce Springsteen on The Rising album

  • Well done. I am a 100% permenently disabled veteran. The Veterans Administration treats us veterans w/ PTSD like garbage. This is a national discrace.

  • you are not kidding....the VA is a joke.

  • @DAVPERM69 thanks for everything..I'm joining the marines as soon I am old enough...

  • @DAVPERM69 I agree. I am on my second try trying to get help and healthcare for Combat PTSD and traumatic brain injury. They denied me the first time saying there was not sufficient proof of combat action. Do I have to be 65 years old or missing a limb to get help? Thank You for your service to our country. Semper Fi!!!

  • @DAVPERM69 I could not agree more. I too have PTSD and let me tell you, the cause of my PTSD was less stressful then going through the process of getting diagnosed with it. I sat there across from my VA interviewer and the guy would literally shake his head and smirk at my answers. The VA health-care system is permanently and irrevocably broken and I will NEVER got to it for care, I use my Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

  • @DAVPERM69 I was treated rather well.....but maybe it's a different facility

  • I served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a part of the Australian Army. I was 19 at the time, and I'm now 23. This video truly made me cry, and if you haven't been on a battlefield and seen the things that can happen to those close to you then you won't fully understand or appreciate this video. Thankyou to the author, I think it's great that someone is finally recognising combat veterans...

  • @turambar54

    It does hit the heart

    Iraq Veteran

  • @turambar54 real question is wtf are you doin in iraq? oil? you soldier of imperialism.. i hope you die all

  • I have PTSD from being bullied for years, but I channelled it into activism and patriotism. The PTSD of these warriors must be much worse. If you haven't been bullied, you don't understand - and if you haven't been on a battlefield, you don't understand or appreciate...

  • It sounds like Bruce Springsteen......

    and thank you.

  • you need to go down to the vet center, they'll give u counseling right away. they helped me tremendously with my stress and depression.

  • Hey handydude6 dont give up on the VA currently there is a lot of techniques being used to help veterans like your self. You courageously defended us then come home to the horrible things you have experienced Im sorry for your troubles. However you are not alone have you tried group therapy, family therapy? these are all benefits the VA provides I promise you with the stories you have in your mind many people would like to hear and learn from your experies think positive and dont give up.

  • Great job on the video, its good to see that this is finally comming out, after serving twice in Iraq (03-05 / 05-07) After I came home the second time I was on autopilot. Almost offed myself, but with some help I have begun to recover. Thank you.

  • I have to give props for the soldiers being pulled off assignment in Iraq.

  • Can anyone tell me where I can find the picture of the man with all the combat memories in his head...

  • I have first hand video of PTSD on my page

  • 40 years after Vietnam, I am just beginning to realize it is me and not all the others, who have a problem. I have no friends that call, two marriages that ended bitterly. I can't keep a job for long without going ballistic on someone. My 3 kids almost never call. I tried the meds, and I might as well be drunk all the time. I stopped making Cortisol after a mortar almost killed me. So my health has been terrible for 40 years. Getting help from VA is like pulling teeth from a chicken.

  • hey dont give up on thr va keep going its hard but you will get help from them.

  • 1zzzzzzzz1: So true. Question: Have you or do you know of anyone who (years later) just woke up and realized they are not the same person they thought they used to be? I mean, to wake up and realize you are no longer in war, but you are still "fighting" and "Hypergivilant" in your own mind?

  • well maybe not years later but myself im a vet and hve had some problems since my two tours in iraq.

  • Than I got some serious issues. I knew I should have joined the airforce and not the Marines. Still hypervigiland and always on alert. Got out in 1994.

  • If you really want to help, do a class project on how Veterans are losing their children, how CPS (Child Protective Services) is stealing their children. PTSD diagnoses are used by CPS to deny parents their rights. People think the government is there to help them - wrong! If you want help, get it from friends and family, or religion or anything but the government. The government is corrupt. Don't find out the hard way. Don't lose your children. Protect them from CPS. Educate yourself.

  • Boeing747fourhundred - they'll do worse than abandon you. They'll use PTSD as an excuse to steal your children. Please educate others about this. Vets are losing their children because CPS is claiming vets who have PTSD are unfit parents.

  • Veterans BEWARE! PSTD may be used against you in order to take your children from you. Educate yourself before you participate in any programs or testing which is "supposed" to help you.

  • im a iraq with who's been dignosed with ptsd. i dont talk about it b/c i feel ashamed about it b/c its like you're just weak minded. also theres alot of phony soldiers out there who didnt leave the wire once but will tell you they did. i was in the infrantry kicking in doors everyday.

  • The question is not whether PTSD is real and serious. It's a devastating mental illness. The question is how many veterans have PTSD, and clearly our goal should be to try to address the veterans' needs and help them deal with their problems and move on in life.

  • i agree

  • Very poweful. Grear job!

  • i have ptsd and its no joke. i have so many nightmares. i wake up screaming at night. certaint sounds and smells set me off to and give me flashbacks. i used to be very angry and flip out of stupid things. but im over that now. like they say "only the dead have seen the end of war" fuck war it created so much pain for me. and fuck iraq. the paranoia is the worst part. u think every situation can turn into a combat situation and ur always prepared for it. sometimes u wish it would turn into one.

  • I hear that man.

  • holy shit you got that right, i walk around tensed up and fully aware of everthing around me. wait to be attacked, going to sleep at night is not fun. drinking makes me let my guard down, so i do it a lot. i go to the VA to see a therapist, but its a long process.

  • P.S. the worst is hear your wife say in the morning "you were screaming in your sleep last night again"....

  • everything about it sucks. i live everyday in pain and hurt. the feeling will never leave. you just learn to live with it. people dont care to hear your stories and what combat feels like. so trust me dont waist ur time trying to explain. they will never know the feeling of being scared like that and the anger it makes. just learn to shut it out of ur life as much as u can. my gf wakes me up and hugs and kisses me to try and make me feel better when im screamin in my sleep.

  • but thats all she can do. she doesnt know what it is like over there. she has watched iraq war movies trying to understand. but those dont explain anything. just find a outlet for when u have bad days or moments. find something that makes u happy and when ur having a bad day or moment go do that. i was on a real bad path for a while. finaly i told myself to come to terms with what i had saw and done over there and get on with my life. and since that point ive been a lot better.

  • heloclown, alchohol is an insidious drug that never helped with anything - it fools you, and then one day you are trapped, an alchoholic. Find other ways to relieve stress. One of the best ways is weight lifting. But there are many ways. Also, if you drink, you will be hanging out with people who aren't healthy, physically and emotionally. Better to be with people who may at first appear boring, but who will be good for you, and care about you, not where their next drink comes from.

  • My dad has that, it's hard to live with but it's possible.

  • The V.A. recognizes the problem but refuses to treat it correctly. Still to this day the only thing offered us is toxic drugs. Biofeedback works better but takes too much time. More doctore subscribing more toxic drugs is not the answer to PTSD.

  • Thank you for the video. I would like to give thanks to all the Vietnam Veterans who were put in Jails and psychiatric wards

because they were thought to be crazy.

I would also thank those who were persistent enough to keep after the VA hospitals until they finally recognized this problem.

Peace and caring to all.... C

  • whats this song called?

  • youre missing-bruce springsteen

  • I was injured during COMBAT TRAINING right before my unit left for Iraq. I had to have several spinal surgeries. I spent 17 months in a Medical Holding company. I had so much guilt for not being with my unit. It was hard seeing all these injured soldiers. Many were PTSD patients. The Army treated those injured soldiers so terrible. We had one soldier that killed himself. I will never forget my time there or the many soldiers that touched my life during my 12 years in the military.

  • i was diagnosed with it , after returning from iraq due to bein involved in an ied and an rta which killed my officer when i was driving

  • Thanks for serving man.

  • Great cause this is...please consider my video response to enhance this presentation

  • " Watch your ships sail out a harbor,, and the bodies come floating back "

  • Semper Fi brothers and sister, both here and accross the pond...so damn few of us former American Marine, MOS 0861

  • I don't expect anyone who has never been in a combat zone to understand. But imagine that at any time you could be killed by people that hate you and you can't just leave because you now live with the people that want to kill you. There is no escape only survival. When you have to survive possible death for a year then you can understand.

  • ...one thing for sure...what GOES around, COMES around.

  • Yeah I went to Afghanistan for a year and lost friends and it is rediculous for people to think that you can just leave that environment of stressing about being killed every day for a year and they think you should just come back and be normal again.....NO!!!! I prayed on every mission for god just to let me live and it was everything I had just to keep the anger out of me when I returned here

  • I was never in a combat zone and i can never understand fully. But I can imagine that the PEOPLE, the innocent civillians that was killed for wicked reasons must have had all that terrible feelings you felt a thousand fold. Because they are JUST there, trying to defend themselves and their countries without no weapons, only rocks and sands and whatever they could grab. It will NOT be normal again for them either. At least you came back in one piece, theyve lost the loved ones. But one thing for..

  • @neveremailme with rocks and sands? that's definitely NOT what "civilians" were defending themselves with where a lot of good men were deployed.

  • @panda62209 You're right they should defend themselves with the never-found biological weapons, the only problem is that they dont kiss jewish asses like you guys do, and so they were not ruled by proxy. And they DEFINITELY do not use tag lines such as "we are here to help you", rip off people's flash and still expect to be welcomed with flower petals!

  • hey im making a video on this too and im just wondering what this song is called

  • "You're Missing" by Bruce Springsteen

  • Thank you aschultzy. and your class mates. Thank you for at least acknowledging us. from another young Marine veteran

  • Great job on this vid. You got me all choked up.

  • hi. im a senior and im required to do a senior project on a current issue, and i chose ptsd. I was wondering if you would allow me to use your video in my presentation, as it pertains directly to my topic. im trying to spread awareness about ptsd and this video is amazing! in my research, i came across the same statistics, and its all so sad. so please let me know when you get a chance! Thanks!

  • Go for it.

  • my beloved boyfriend just got back from his deployment and got ptsd :(

doctors at the medical centre said that hes on level "red". so green, yellow, red and black...

without medication and all the support he got, he could break down and kill himself anytime.

    im very scared.

god bless everyone deploying....come home save...

  • Very well done on the awareness of PTSD.

  • Hello everyone,

I never wanted to post on the video. I didn't want it to become a political statement. Only recently I've seen these nasty arguments on this board. Please take it somewhere else. Just let the video speak for itself. Out of humanity, just try and show some empathy (not simpathy) for someone in need. People join up for a lot of reasons. Whatever it is, they joined. I thank them for that. Don't let this become ugly, because I think we can help people by listening.

  • You know what isn't missing? Ya'lls (yup I'm a Texan) heart. Lead better tomorrow than today, it's in your hands.

  • And about the song we chose: 1. We put together the slides before choosing a song, so we needed something that meshed time-wise. 2. The concept works: When the soldiers are away, in harms way, all their friends and family can think about is how badly they want them home safely. And when they return, we can only hope that they see how badly we need them, not just as soldiers but as the great people they are in our lives.

  • Sure they volunteered and we paid them but they're still Americans and need our help.

My second day back from Nam an old friend came up to me at a party and asked me not to talk about the war because it "wasn't pleasant." That's not a pleasant memory to have in addition to the war. Even what you say can make a difference. aloha :) ray

  • For me ptsd is like living in hell everyday. The only people who really understand are fellow vets who saw what I saw. The docs at the VA only know about combat from books. How about walking a mile in my nightmares then tell me how I feel.

  • its lonely also. i just cant interact with people because after a few hours they realize something aint right about me. facial tics, memory loss and what my shrink calls looping. and im quick to fight. life sucks.the meds make me a walking zombie.

  • You fight with your life, Your honor,

Your pride,But most of all with your heart.

We're proud to honor you,You make us proud,

You make us believe, Without you there is no pride. We love you, So stand proud and strong,

You're an American Solider! Thank You

  • Hay Brother Try a Vet Center from my experiance most of the counselers thare are veitnam vets and thay have valked the line.
