as I am still getting veiws on this vid, thought I'd update you all .... 3 out 4 hens are still very healthy :)... 22 months out of the battery cages, no health issues at all with them. AND THEY ARE ARE STILL LAYING beautiful eggs almost every day ... I'd be lost without them!
Hi Kcwacey. If you go to Jimbo's ex battery hens" you will see out 3 ladies and there garden. Its batten down the hatches for tonight as bit of a storm is passing over the south coast!
The music made me smile. We have just rehomed 3 ex batt hens. Saw a battery shed 25 years ago and never bought cheap eggs again. We love watching Lady Gaga, Kylie and Cher doing chicken stuff. We will post a video real soon. Good luck to all rehomers
@xMolly1997x Hi Molly ... it depends on what condition they in.. if they are mostly featherless they will do (of corse depending on how cold it gets) I got 2 ind december, and they made it through the winter no probs... As long as they are kept dry and draft free .. extra straw ... if u do worry about featherless ones, there are people that make hen jumpers! (very cute) I will contact someone about them if u want jumpers xxxx
One of the hens died a week after rescue, post mortem revealed a huge lump inside her, very sad :( But the other three (main girls on this video) are all very well indeed, all still laying but they learnt how to break and eat their own eggs! lol .. not that i mind of course.I am very pleased with their health they are no different to my posh hens
The Hens said thank you for asking about them :) xxxxxxx
You did a great thing, providing a home for those beautiful girls. I bet they are so thrilled to be in a much more of a natural environment with places to dig and dust bathe and people actually being kind to them. Chickens are fantastic!
They seem to have done awfully well on their first day home!! I thought thought they would of spent a few days wondering whats going on and learning things.. anyway,, lovely video!!
Hi Chicken wings!.. Thanks for lovely comments and add to group :)
The two main girls on that video, it took them two hours to find their feet!! and followed me as soon as they were walking about.. I couldn't of wished for more :) xx
This is lovely..................those very lucky hens have been given a wonderful future. Seeing these girls who are now "FREE AT LAST!" makes us so very proud of what we do. Thank you so much for taking them Linda and Robert. xxx
Thank you, guys! :) they love their new and forever home!
