the Sultan of Brunei has 2 black/silver ones.... think the other 3 are orange.... and I know of at least 2 F1s with high downforce kit (GTR looking) with LM engines.... I've seen one.

Love this car. All McLaren F1 LMs were supposed to be Papaya Orange. The 2 bought by the Sultan of Brunei are black/silver with some stripes. The other 3 are orange and the XP1 prototype is orange.

@artemc2 no 2 out of the 6 (including the prototype) are not orange, but instead some other blackish colour with pinstripes...specially for the sultan of dubai... this i believe is chris parmers GTR which was just repainted to the same papaya orange.

@Volkodav21 - to clarify, there's no such thing as a GTR LM.

There were GTRs - 18 short tailed versions and 10 longtail versions. In 1995 they built the first 9 short tailed GTRs, and 7 of them were entered into the 24 Hrs of LeMans with 5 of them finishing in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th places.

Then McLaren made the F1 LM - a road car to commemorate the success at LeMans. They intended to build 5, all orange plus there was a single prototype for a total of 6.

@Volkodav21 - Of those 6 LMs, 3 sold to the Brunei Royal Family and they requested 2 of them be painted black/grey similar to the paint on the LeMans winning GTR. Then there were some bunting flag style graphics applied down the sides - very odd looking.

What confuses people is that several F1 GTRs have been resprayed orange once they retired from racing. In fact there are 5 of them around the world - #07R, #08R, #11R, #14R, and 16R - they all look like LMs, but are still GTRs under the skin.

@shawnkevinwilliams That's not an LM, but chassis #16R, a '96 spec GTR, raced by Team Bigazzi in that season. It has since been converted for road use, but this does not make it an LM. This is a car which has raced at Le Mans and in the BPR Global Series, being piloted by such drivers as the great Nelson Piquet, making it a very unique and interesting piece of motor-racing history, which the LMs are not.
