Fantasyland is closed off, and Toontown because of the Nine line pyro behind it. They have 5 pyro booths that monitor the show,wind from the wind meters on matterhorn, and the show director on top of the photo shop on main street. There are techs that watch the bunkers from these booths
Yes, every now and then, they release a balloon to check the wind level in higher altitudes. If it's too high, they have to cancel the show because it is a harard to people living in high altitudes.

Are you going to video cam it again and this time when you successfully make it to the end, will you try with the ding and siren whatever the call it? Just a suggestion.
I have also experienced this travesty on more than a couple of occasions. I am an annual pass holder, so I'm there quite a bit. I remember there was one weekend I spent there that they cancelled the fireworks two nights in a row due to high winds. I remember two occasions where the show was cancelled right in the middle. Whenever they cancel the show, you can feel the tension in the air. In the words of one guest at the park, "Things will be broken. Fires will be started."
omg that happened to me to on the 9th. i was so bummed that they cancelled it bc we waited for almost 2 hours right infront of the castle and it was my last time that i got to see the 50th fireworks show. i feel your pain. DAMN WINDS, LOL.

I know it sucks, but you have to look at the bigger picture. Fireworks cancelled or someone's roof catches on fire because of blowing ashes.
