Wow 1987... I never really found most of this show genuinely funny but the guy at the end who always spoke with realizing he was on camera was funny as sht!!! lol (Still saw it everyday religiously)..;)
damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a sick throw back right here. Nickelodeon's early days on channel 22. thats if you lived in new york and had cablevision in the late 80's.
@RacerXDrag I used to be fascinated with that too. I read it was a mixture of lime green gelatin powder and flour; eventually, oatmeal was added to the recipe, as was baby shampoo so that it would wash out of the actors' hair more easily.
Man oh man...the memories with this show...Agreed the best of nick was in the 80's(and early 90's). I recently turned on teen nick and degrassi was on and they were talking about condoms and teens were sharing rooms together. Times have changed...I remember watching this show with my older sister and loving it. I think nickelodeon has lost some insight on kids today, which is very sad. Now its about sex and being boy crazy..whatever happened to just being a kid???
damn, it's true, we DO turn into our parents. lol Here we all are, complaining about the pop culture of today and saying how much better it was back when we were young'uns, just like what our parents did. And the scary part is how the kids who are growing up with what's happening today will be saying the same thing 20-30 years from now.
@pikespice That's a scary thought. Picture kids today saying "Hannah Montana was MY JAM when I was a kid" in 20-30 years. Maybe TV will go in cycles, this show will come back, and the next generation will fall in love with it.
I must've been 8 or 9 y/o when I watched this...my parents hated it lol. OMG how I miss the old Nick. The shows now a days SUCK %^& for real. These crazy so-called teenagers who are really in their 20s play these stupid, idiotic tweens on TV who talk about dating, cute boys, kissing I mean OMG!! And kids actually watch this! Every time BTR comes on, I tell my six year old to change it...the show is STUPID. I soooo miss the 80s and 90s when shows actually taught you something!!!!
At 0:31, I always used to think that was Pee-wee Herman's voice. Thumbs up if you thought the same thing. LOL! Damn, this show was so cool back in the day. Never missed it.
Does the theme song sample from other works? I always remember thinking that each section of the theme reminded me of other pieces, and never moreso than today.
Could just be nostalgia kicking me in the butt, twice.
It's interesting to see the difference between kids' TV in the '80s and kids' TV today. Everything's so watered-down today. If anyone tried to execute kids on a show that aired in this day and age, there'd be SUCH an uproar. Back then, it was fun!
@DLJBFan2008 LOL oh man you said it. Shows like Amanda Please and All That are funny but don't begin to match You Can't Do That on TV. I remember my dad complaining You Can't Do that on TV is too gross to watch while you're eating. ha ha ha
My mom hated this show, lol. It was like torture for her. I can't still hear her voice, like a mantra, every single time it started..."I don't know why you guys want to watch this show!"
I found this opening unsettling as a kid. I think it was the guy's face and the kids in the meat grinder, not to mention the sirens. Over it now, but still...can't forget
@thejkr77 Nickelodeon has no actual rights to the show. Probably the same reason why it's highly unlikely you'll see this on DVD in the foreseeable future. I'm guessing you'd be more likely to see every city flooded with water. *Quickly opens umbrella.*
this show was seriously addicting- my mom didn't like what was in the show and banned me from it... and later, I heard my older cousin got banned from it, too!!
Aww, that sucks! Well, fortunately, you both can download episodes of the show now. I agree, this show was very addicting, along with many of the other great shows from the early days of Nick.
It makes more sense to ban people from listening to radio, than it is from banning them from watching this show. And I will tell you the reason why: Because the hip hop that plays on today's radio is just utterly creepy.
Well, this looks...interesting. 0_o
I wasn't born when this show was on but I already feel like I missed something. Time to go look at the Related Videos!

I hope this does not offend, as it is intended as an endearment of Barth Bagge, one of Les Lye's best known characters:
Rest in peace, Les Lye...between the mouldy tomato and what looks like lettuce. "Daaaaa-Iiiiiiii heard that!"
