I agree with MangoHombre. You had no right yelling at those people and they had every right to be where they were. I would have just turned around and given you the finger. You ruined your own video and you need to learn to edit.
I just uploaded a video of the same train that Stopped in Blairmore AB. My video starts right off when the trains leaves...lots of steam. At the end of my video you can hear the whistle echo off the mountains
@ford9572 - please refrain from acting like an idiot. You are so worried about kids seeing old trains. If I were a parent to one of these kids and saw them reading your response, Id keep them from seeing this video again. Come on don't be such a potty mouth! Thanks.
Nice train but what jackasses yelling at people to move so they can get their precious pictures. Those people will remember the rude idiots instead of the train.
The diesel is basically our spare tire... used on long trips, or when hard grades are presented in a planned trip. Why whip a multi-million dollar mount when you don't have too. Secondly, I can assure you, it is very much in one piece and there is no plastic on it whatsoever... except maybe an empty water bottle I may have left up there this morning when I was polishing her jacket.
As an employee of the Soo Line RR, I was able to ride behind CP 2816 from Milwaukee to downtown Chicago in September, 2007. Seems she'll be out of service for 2009 undergoing some repairs. Let's hope she'll return soon, but the current state of the world's economy could postpone any comback in the next few years.
I spoke with a former 2816 steameam emplyee and he told me that the new president of CP doesnt like steam and 2816 is no more I do truelly hope this to not be true but he told me it is in Calgary in pieces under a tarp wraped up permentlly I was hopeing he was wrong but we shall all see I had some good year rideing this engine one such case rode in the cab out of Lake Louise Alberta through the spirral tunnels to Field BC and again a few more times into Port Coquitlem yard
I was told that it'll be out of service until things improve economically for the CP as business is quite a bit down versus last year. I don't suspect it'll be around anytime soon and that may include 2010.
hmm very interesting I figured that might be the case I wasnt sure though I hear rummers but I dont belive them untill I confirm them such as the case with what he told me I do hope the CP can get things together I had heard they planned to get it ready for the 2010 Olympics maybee that will be the casee as I had many good times with this engine and do hope to see it return to service so thank you for your response back
Well who ever told you that don't know his ass from a hole in the ground. 2816 is still all in one piece at home down at the Ogden Shops(Alstom). It is still not totally known If she will run this year, but she is book in for runs in August and September. And when It come to Fred Green, nobody really likes him anyway, can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

ALL of Metra and Amtrak's current engines are diesel-electric and burn diesel fuel!

I believe it's there to assist in "airing up" the train air brake system.
