Question: Would you consider a classic VW as a good first car? Because I'm trying to convince one of my moms friends to selling his to me. Someone I know has this as their first car now and they say its amazing. Just wondering if its a good start.
Hey, I enjoy watching your videos and i plan on spending about $10,000 next September on my 72 Super Beetle and im just wondering if its possible to turn it into a convertible
@Skidrocker182 no do not do that, there are more support braces that are needed to hold that car together. If you want a vert, sell your car, and get a vert. You can get them at a good price now since we are heading into winter.
@brighteyefilms you have inspired us to restore our 1967 beetle. All your restorations are top notch. We envy you for choosing the correct parts for your restorations. Our 1967 beetle is only 90% finished for we have a hard time finding parts for it here in the Philippines. Can you suggest where we can buy 1967 hub caps in the U.S.? I will post a short video soon of our beetle. :-)
@brighteyefilms Well you very well deserve it. From all the endless hours I've spent floating around on the Internet searching and reading about Beetles; I have only found one person who has been able to restore Beetles, not only beautifully, but consistently as well.
hey Chris, roughly how many man hours/full days would you need to restore a bug from a really terrible state to that high-end condition? assuming you just focus on that single bug from start to finish. thanks! :)

@mrkentlanders Yeah as long as you are prepared to always tinker and fix things. They require regular maintenance

@psychedelicfunkymonk Well if a car is real terrible condition, you could be upwards of 6-8 months.
