@TheAzide Hope is never gone. I couldn't listen to this song without crying for years because of my own addiction. I couldn't even face God. Eventually this is what gave me the strength to just say "no." At the end, the dad makes a choice. That's all it takes: a single choice. God will give you strength if you call on Him. It's never too late to turn back. God is a forgiving and good Lord.

@B20utterfly well this song hit me on so many fronts, even though the connection between the music video and me has none. when i first heard this i cried because everything i heard in smallgroup was summed up in this song. eyes can decieve so be weary. watch where you step for it can lead you to trouble. dont listen to bad things because flattery really does lead to compromise in so many ways. be careful what you say because words are very powerful. most dangerous is eyes and words
its not that people are always looking and judging you, but people look at your actions and knowing your a christian they think if you do it, it must be ok, or if you have anybody younger than you around, they all follow your lead and look to you to set an example
this song makes me realize as Christian, i need to be careful on i will say, what i will do because Somebody is looking at me and judging me......we should really focus especially to what we are saying to others because some people are getting hurt on what you are saying....
@markjashierstar I know that some are judging, but others are looking to us for guidance... There has been times that I have been thanked for just "being there and being a Christian" and have been told that my steadfastness throughout life have touched more people then I will ever know. Now I am not saying I am perfect, far from it - but it is a daily choice to follow Him or not... I pray you continue to make the right choice!

@BrandonTidd8 there is no need to be so aggressive because every one is not the same and he may need a little bit more help than just being told to worry about your future, that was good enough for you but its like drugs some people come off "easy" while others stay hooked their whole life, so all you can do is pray for him and tell him talk to someone (christian) who went through this that he knows and see if they can work something out together.
@steppydanl I disagree. The problem with this world is no one is being aggressive anymore about the things that matter. We are so worried about getting feelings hurt that we have let perverseness in at the risk of not being PC. As the song says. It's a slow fade. It's something that happens and you have to stand your ground against it. If Christians would just wake the hell up this world would be much better off!
@BuiltOnTruth just pray to God whenever you are about to fall to your urges, talk to someone who has experienced it and got through it, Remember God is omnipotent He is all powerful, and omnipresent , He is watching you every second of your life so just try to please and represent Him as best as he can. @BuiltOnTruth We had a group called transparent ministries come to our campus (google it) they have started some amazing stuff, we are having Bible study in our dorm now and some serious spiritual warfare going on with the battle against pornography. Find a support group and ask for help from God!
God will always be there to help us follow the right path that will led us to him, while we confess to him we've sinned against him with our eyes,lips and thoughts. He is a loving God, has mercy on us, for he is just.

I know that it doesn't take long for you turn away from god and all that he offers but it is true that if we don't watch what happens that it could lead us astray.

@TwitterBug26 i know it's probably really hard to stop drinking, and it feels like nothing anyone says will help but try to pray even though it will probably be quite hard, or talk to a friend or someone you trust about it. i haven't said a prayer in a while and whenever i try to i can't its like i don't have the courage but i'll try and pray for you=)
If you are an alcoholic, but a christian believer who has accepted Jesus in your heart, use the name and the blood of Jesus to attack the alcoholism spirit, or the spirit of alcohol addiction, if its a spirit It will leave, you can do this alone or with other strong faithful brothers and sisters in christ in nearest evangelical or baptist church..otherwise listen to music about Jesus victory over all sins and addictions and fill your spirit with it.. you can also combine theseTwo

A family member of mine (now deceased) was an alcoholic and she never got over it even though we tried our best to help her, but she wouldn't accept it. I would pray for her all the time that she would change her mind and ways. You don't have to reply if you don't want to, but I would be grateful. Grace and Peace! =)

Slow fades are the perfect work od the devil. Unfortunatley it has taken me 26 years into life to figure this out. Constant contact/prayer with God is the only true way to avoid slow fades in selfishness. I will pray everyday for people to realize this before they hit rock bottom as this is what it took with me. what a powerful song!

@TheAngelLipzz It's called SIN. When a heart is not delivered from it through Christ, people do stupid things like that. At the root of the condition of sin is extreme selfishness. In this perticular scenario, dude did not realize that him entertaining the notion f cheating on this wife (and kids) would ultimately tear his home apart. A lot of men and women who opt to commit adultry think that it's just about temperal pleasure, but they don't count the cost--their soul...their family. Duces

Sin and selfishness tore my family apart when I was not being the kind of husband that God's word calls me to be in Eph 5, and love my wife selflessly as Christ loved the church. That was my sin. Then my wife gave up praying and believing in the power of Christ to heal what had become broken, and for me to be set free from captivity. I was blinded by a veil of darkness, unable to show her love. She found it in the arms of another. That was her sin.
@bigchas46 I think nowadays, people are less open to staying together after one spouse commits adultery on the other. One reason could be the massive amount of STDs that are out here now, and STDs that can KILL. Christ does extend liberty in this way though. He said except for fornication can one divorce another. I think that it is possible to forgive a spouse for breaking the marriage covenant in that way, but divorce does not necessarily constitute unforgiveness....
@bigcha it’s one thing to continue to work with a spouse who continues to transgress their marriage covenant by repeated adultery, but at some point grace runs out too.I would forgive my husband if he cheated on me and I would try to work it out, but if he repeatedly committed adultery,thus putting my life in danger through possibly exposing me to an STD and thus putting our child(ren)'s life in danger by threatening the stability of our family, I just may divorce him, but would always love him.
@EnChristosEime4life God's word say infidelity is the only reason acceptable to the Lord for divorce, but a mandate for divorce is found nowhere in the Bible. Bottom line...God hates divorce. I know first hand He feels that way for good reason. She divorced me, it was not something I wanted. We were not a couple that fought, and only had a handful of arguments where voices were raised in 71/2 yrs. We never even went to a marriage counselor.I believed, and still believe God can heal our marriage.

If she divorced you for infidelity, then sad to say, friend, it was something your actions showed you wanted.... The bible teaches that there is always a consequence for actions (the wages of sin is death).
@ Bigchas46, It sounds like you are faulting her for divorcing you rather than faulting yourself. It’s one thing to acknowledge the part that we play in things that go wrong, but at the same time, we need to live with the consequences of our actions without blaming others… The Lord called David a man after his own heart, but when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband Uriah, his house was forever divided until the Lord Jesus came…
@bigchas46 Consequences can sometimes have a lasting effect.... We may be forgiven,but unfortunately may need to live with the consequences of our actions. It's just like if I was playing with lighter fluid and inadvertantly set my house on fire and burned myself in the process. Although my wounds may heal and I can rebuild my home; I still have to live with possible physical scarring and the finanical and perhaps legal impact my actions would have. Reconsiliation is better than divorce tho.
Obesity is also a problem....captures you into thinking that all is ok and your body keeps showing you no = no ! Try going back to the diet in Genesis and your body will naturally shed the weight without cutting portions! Much love!

@B20utterfly well this song hit me on so many fronts, even though the connection between the music video and me has none. when i first heard this i cried because everything i heard in smallgroup was summed up in this song. eyes can decieve so be weary. watch where you step for it can lead you to trouble. dont listen to bad things because flattery really does lead to compromise in so many ways. be careful what you say because words are very powerful. most dangerous is eyes and words

its not that people are always looking and judging you, but people look at your actions and knowing your a christian they think if you do it, it must be ok, or if you have anybody younger than you around, they all follow your lead and look to you to set an example

@markjashierstar I know that some are judging, but others are looking to us for guidance... There has been times that I have been thanked for just "being there and being a Christian" and have been told that my steadfastness throughout life have touched more people then I will ever know. Now I am not saying I am perfect, far from it - but it is a daily choice to follow Him or not... I pray you continue to make the right choice!

@BrandonTidd8 there is no need to be so aggressive because every one is not the same and he may need a little bit more help than just being told to worry about your future, that was good enough for you but its like drugs some people come off "easy" while others stay hooked their whole life, so all you can do is pray for him and tell him talk to someone (christian) who went through this that he knows and see if they can work something out together.

@steppydanl I disagree. The problem with this world is no one is being aggressive anymore about the things that matter. We are so worried about getting feelings hurt that we have let perverseness in at the risk of not being PC. As the song says. It's a slow fade. It's something that happens and you have to stand your ground against it. If Christians would just wake the hell up this world would be much better off!

@BuiltOnTruth We had a group called transparent ministries come to our campus (google it) they have started some amazing stuff, we are having Bible study in our dorm now and some serious spiritual warfare going on with the battle against pornography. Find a support group and ask for help from God!

@TwitterBug26 i know it's probably really hard to stop drinking, and it feels like nothing anyone says will help but try to pray even though it will probably be quite hard, or talk to a friend or someone you trust about it. i haven't said a prayer in a while and whenever i try to i can't its like i don't have the courage but i'll try and pray for you=)

A family member of mine (now deceased) was an alcoholic and she never got over it even though we tried our best to help her, but she wouldn't accept it. I would pray for her all the time that she would change her mind and ways. You don't have to reply if you don't want to, but I would be grateful. Grace and Peace! =)

Slow fades are the perfect work od the devil. Unfortunatley it has taken me 26 years into life to figure this out. Constant contact/prayer with God is the only true way to avoid slow fades in selfishness. I will pray everyday for people to realize this before they hit rock bottom as this is what it took with me. what a powerful song!

@TheAngelLipzz It's called SIN. When a heart is not delivered from it through Christ, people do stupid things like that. At the root of the condition of sin is extreme selfishness. In this perticular scenario, dude did not realize that him entertaining the notion f cheating on this wife (and kids) would ultimately tear his home apart. A lot of men and women who opt to commit adultry think that it's just about temperal pleasure, but they don't count the cost--their soul...their family. Duces

Sin and selfishness tore my family apart when I was not being the kind of husband that God's word calls me to be in Eph 5, and love my wife selflessly as Christ loved the church. That was my sin. Then my wife gave up praying and believing in the power of Christ to heal what had become broken, and for me to be set free from captivity. I was blinded by a veil of darkness, unable to show her love. She found it in the arms of another. That was her sin.

@bigchas46 I think nowadays, people are less open to staying together after one spouse commits adultery on the other. One reason could be the massive amount of STDs that are out here now, and STDs that can KILL. Christ does extend liberty in this way though. He said except for fornication can one divorce another. I think that it is possible to forgive a spouse for breaking the marriage covenant in that way, but divorce does not necessarily constitute unforgiveness....

@bigcha it’s one thing to continue to work with a spouse who continues to transgress their marriage covenant by repeated adultery, but at some point grace runs out too.I would forgive my husband if he cheated on me and I would try to work it out, but if he repeatedly committed adultery,thus putting my life in danger through possibly exposing me to an STD and thus putting our child(ren)'s life in danger by threatening the stability of our family, I just may divorce him, but would always love him.

@EnChristosEime4life God's word say infidelity is the only reason acceptable to the Lord for divorce, but a mandate for divorce is found nowhere in the Bible. Bottom line...God hates divorce. I know first hand He feels that way for good reason. She divorced me, it was not something I wanted. We were not a couple that fought, and only had a handful of arguments where voices were raised in 71/2 yrs. We never even went to a marriage counselor.I believed, and still believe God can heal our marriage.

If she divorced you for infidelity, then sad to say, friend, it was something your actions showed you wanted.... The bible teaches that there is always a consequence for actions (the wages of sin is death).

It’s one thing to acknowledge the part that we play in things that go wrong, but at the same time, we need to live with the consequences of our actions without blaming others… The Lord called David a man after his own heart, but when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband Uriah, his house was forever divided until the Lord Jesus came…

@bigchas46 Consequences can sometimes have a lasting effect.... We may be forgiven,but unfortunately may need to live with the consequences of our actions. It's just like if I was playing with lighter fluid and inadvertantly set my house on fire and burned myself in the process. Although my wounds may heal and I can rebuild my home; I still have to live with possible physical scarring and the finanical and perhaps legal impact my actions would have. Reconsiliation is better than divorce tho.
