@drink573 no, not tuned. It was designed so to have 8 liter, 4 turbos, 16 cylinders and to last 300000+ km + conforms the EU5 emmision rules. The Alpha 12 won't last 10000 km, the engine, the gearbox and the drivetrain wasn't designed to deal with 1500 HP, 3x more than from factory...It will fall into pieces in no time. GT-R is a good car for the money, but isn't in the same league with Bugatti, Koenigsegg, not even with Ferrari or Porsche. GT-R is in the Corvette's class...

I like how super-stock Darts and Barracudas ran these kind of times in '68. Granted, they're on drag slicks, but they're only two-wheel drive on '60s compound (modern street tires are generally better than those slicks), have a SMALLER engine, and are naturally-aspirated. The Veyron is really a highway car for cruising very fast, while being constantly reminded of how insanely wealthy you are. For the price, any fool could build a Viper to beat it on the track, strip, or top-speed.

Two items of note. First, this was only the second run the Bugatti owner ever did at a drag way and he had a passenger. It would run 9's easily with some practice. He was actually at the road course and was invited to try a run down the 1320. He was nice enough to try. second, the GTR driver is very practiced at drag racing cutting .07x lights while the Veyron driver was not. So, the GTR waited for the Bugatti to roll before he went as a courtesy to his guest.
