@heytheremar6 well he really did love both, but he apparently chose serena because he wasn't drunk at all when he slept with her. on the next day he expected her to be beside him but she wasn't. he said himself that he always loved her (well at first in a romantic way, than as friends, and than romantic again) and since season 3 it's clear that serena loved him too before she left
