i saw it twice. and i thought it was well excecuted. im a big fan of iron man. and i thought the movie delivered. great cast, great storyline, good villiains, great action scenes (and more than the first), and the introduction to war machine was superb. this movie gave me everything i wanted in an iron man movie. cant wait for the dvd and blu-ray. i also like the iron man and iron man 2 videogames :D
Media really pushed this one out there, and tried to hype it up for these last few months which led to high anticipation. However that high anticipation led some of us to disappointment when finally seeing it on the screen. RDJ did do a great job portraying the role and that's a give in, and you said it all yourself. However, it didn't have the same flare. Nice review all in all thank you for saying it.
Been reading his comics along with thor, hulk since primary school. I stop after the comics got a little to "harsh" and the cartoons ended. When they brought him back to my life I was happy. The 1st one brought me complete joy, the 2nd one was subtled as is., the acting by downey was spot on as always, so I hope the third will make up for some of the errors in the sequel next time in 2012 I guess.
I agree, I loved the first one. This one tried to add in too much and I didn't understand all of it. it was also a bad script. but still entertaining, but it belongs it reminded me more of transformers.

Sure it wasn't as good as the first one, but to me it still kicked ass, specially the after credits scene about Thor. Either way, I don't think I expected too much out of it. I figured it would be less awesome as the first. It always seems the super hero movies start off good with their origins and then they drop off in the 2nd or 3rd film. Spider-man IMO, is the best out of the 3. 2nd one was good, but less awesome. 3rd - eh...lots of mistakes there.

I can count ON ONE HAND, the number of movies that are better or just as good as the first one. let me take a stab at it: Dark Knight, Blade 2, X2 : x-men united, GodFather part 2, Spiderman 2, and that's about it. "Justin Hammer" reminded me more of Gary Oldmanns character in "The 5th Element" than anything else. And Oldmann did a great job on his character and it doesn't *belong* in Iron Man any more than "Jar Jar Binks" belonged in "Star Wars".

@Blunty3000 Ok I just watched your review again. Your review is great, you talk in depth about the different points of the movie - you objectively make comparisons. Then you ruin your review by saying lower your expectations its not as good as the first one. You even state yourself that you are harsh on this movie. Come on Sam hardly wrecks the movie - and he is no where near as annoying as jarjar. Basically I disagree with you and should have said that the first time.

it was good . i thought rockwell was pretty good. there wasnt enough action but it was funny. they shudve made it darker and more action and less comedy orientated.
thors hammer at the end is excellant you also see capts shield again.........bring on The Avengers

You know, i value your opinions on movies, right along with you i was pumped up for watchmen and such, and now i will bash my ultrahigh expections down so i will enjoy this movie and if said movie exceeds said low expectations HOORAY and if it friggin blows me away HOORAY, but either way thanks for being honest and not a fanboy suck up.

Sure it wasn't as good as the first one, but to me it still kicked ass, specially the after credits scene about Thor. And yeah Hammer was kind of annoying, but still, I liked that my Iron Man oldschool T-shirt mentioned him and his plot to make Tony look responsible for the death of the Carnelian ambassador

im a little disappointed, i haven't seen the movie yet but i was looking forward to some more action than the first one but with the plot just as deep and interesting. i suppose now my expectations are lower i might enjoy it more.

I thought there was one clever twist, and that was Whiplash working for Justin Hammer which mirrored Tony Stark working for the Afghan terrorists from the first movie.

Either way, I don't think I expected too much out of it. I figured it would be less awesome as the first. It always seems the super hero movies start off good with their origins and then they drop off in the 2nd or 3rd film. Spider-man IMO, is the best out of the 3. 2nd one was good, but less awesome. 3rd - eh...lots of mistakes there.

While I can understand why people hate Jar-Jar, I honestly don't really have a problem with him. I definitely can see where people can find him annoying, but like I stated before, I do not really find him annoying.

how many times are people gonna say that ? I can count ON ONE HAND, the number of movies that are better or just as good as the first one. let me take a stab at it: Dark Knight, Blade 2, X2 : x-men united, GodFather part 2, Spiderman 2, and that's about it. So, please tell me that people aren't judging this film on the sole fact that it may not be as good as the first one ? If so, they need to stop watching movies.

For some reason I hated the first Iron man film I'm going to watch it again to get a second opinion on it. This one does look very good, I'm sad since i love Same Rockwell but now that your saying hes bad I'm having second thoughts.

Hmm. Well, thanks for the review. I didnt really have high hopes for this movie either, and didnt really expect it to live up to the first one. Its easy to know what to expect when hollywood sequels to great movies have let you down so many times before :( *cough*MatrixReloaded*cough*

i liked the film alot the only thing that kinda pissed me off is when whiplash attacks him the first time and slices the racer causeing it too crash it was badly done because it would have cut off his feet
the rest of the film was fucking awesome and being able too piss of all my american friends about me already seeing it 6 days before them is iceing on te cake
i would give it 9.5/10 it could have been better in some parts but there is only like 2

I think this movie is better then the first one, you dont seem to be taking into account that we are watching a different tony stark facing different issues then the ones he had to face in Ironman 1.
i just seems as your not looking at it from that angle, im no professional tho its just an opinion. great movie guess it might of lacked a lil bit of depth but i failed to see where.

Thanks for the reviewing, I've been so lost in watching videos online, I didn't even realize the movie was out! lol talk about getting sucked into the internet, sheesh! Anyway, the review makes me want to see the film, so guess I'll have to get out into the "real world"-- long enough, at least, to enter a car and make my way to a theatre. And then go inside and escape from reality yet again. Ah well, such is life... er, fantasy... or whatever. Cool iron helmet effect, have a great week! :)

At least last i heard, and if these issues are still around, im fine with waiting a week for a movie that will just truthfully be a form of temporary high.

"Justin Hammer" reminded me more of Gary Oldmanns character in "The 5th Element" than anything else. And Oldmann did a great job on his character and it doesn't *belong* in Iron Man any more than "Jar Jar Binks" belonged in "Star Wars".
