  • How about a big cup of Awesomeness?

  • This is the best mix of Blood, Sweat, & Tears I've ever seen. This animation owns. This music owns. BS&T owns. Everything owns.

  • The art style is very Samurai Jack-ish. I like it.

  • oleg.avi

  • Best. Animation. Ever.

  • Needs more cowbells....

  • I wish I had a trophy that shot lasers from its eyes.

    absolutely rocking song+video.

     brilliant animation Patrick!

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS ANIMATION??

  • I really like the texture that brass sections can add to rock. It puts a great edge on the music.

  • I just realized near the end that it sampled Blood, Sweat and Tears's "Spinning Wheel". Awesome.

  • Thirty-three people have brain damage.

  • This art style is VERY similar to that of Samurai Jack. And that's a good thing :)

  • @BInRt that was such a good show... i miss it :(

  • This is what Guitar Hero should look like.

  • Really, really cool.

  • Rock beams totally stolen from Gitaroo Man... which is no bad thing.

  • @reheheeeally Yes, they're both similar. You know the artist who created this animation stole his work from another how, exactly?

  • I will go giant rock n roll robot viking on your ass if you don't like this video. I love the work the Orphanage did before they split.

  • There is nothing bad about this video.

  • this video is so epic my brained crawled out of my skull through my ear and said "god-DAMN that's epic!"

  • This video explains a lot to me.

  • viking + giant robots + rock n roll = i can't hear you over the sound how awsome this vid is.

  • Seconded.

  • Thirdeded.

  • @theyoungmc lol! hahahaha really liked your comment!

  • wooo ctf_vikings

  • Definitely my favourite Joel video. Fantastic!

  • Giant Viking Rock Robots!

you cant give shit like this less than a 5

  • Does this song sample "Spinnign Wheel" or "Lucretia McEvil" ?

  • It samples various "Blood, Sweat & Tears" songs. The Braund Reynolds song "Rocket" also did this, hence it having some parts in common with War Photographer.

  • I shit myself at the awesomeness of these vikings. They truly rocked the house.

  • wats the song? at the beggining?

  • good song, but the vid is realy wierd.

  • Really awesome you mean?

  • Go marching band! Represent!

  • How could you confuse a miniature TRUMPET with a joint? Seriously.

  • Oooh...touched a nerve, did I? :D

  • I saw Jason Forrest dj live. He didn't play this song, but a set of insane breakcore. He could most accurately be described as: 'insane monkey on speed'. He had great energy though, and could really pump up the audience, even if we couldn't keep up with him.

  • Well now I know what inspired the tf2 map Yaargh.

  • This song's actually in the map. Shoot the red boat's amps.

  • thats what i was thinking.

  • Me likey.

  • This is so awesome it brings me to tears.

  • This video is impossibly cool.

  • THOR! GOD OF ROCK!

  • MECHA-ODIN!

  • Badass video.

  • Amazing!

  • I see a rather big Samurai Jack influence. Won't you agree?

  • Naw, I see a big Jim Flora influence though ;)

  • I think the guy that made it also did some Samurai Jack animation.

  • The style IS very much like Samurai Jack. However Samurai Jack was made by Genndy Tartakovsky with Scott Wills, Paul Rudish, Robert Alvarez, Andy Suriano, Lynne Naylor, and many others. Jason Forrest wasn't on staff for SJ, but yes, his style is VERY much the same.

  • realy amazink work, bravo!!

wich software you used for this animation?

    thanks

    tom

  • Great music, really like the fact that the guy doesnt hold back or anything, and the illustrations look like the ones from the books i used to read as a kid, love it

  • yeah to many animators are totally holding back now. I dont understand it.

  • duuuuuuuuude this is awesomest!!!!!

  • Great video but you got to give credit to Joel Trussel for doing it, he is an awesome cartoonist.

  • It's sorta Tartakovsky-esque. Did Genndy have a hand in this?

  • OK this is fucken amazing!

  • Awesomest!!!

  • Fucking awesome.

  • Very Samurai Jack indeed. Which doesn't make it any worse.

  • Very cool. Great job animating.

  • cant find the song ANYWHERE

i'd kill for this! its not even on iTunes!!

  • I'm willing to bet it's because Jason Forrest's songs are largely sample-ized, probably w/o permission. Try an indie file sharing program, like Soulseek

  • Yeah it is. On Philip Jeck's album 'Shamelessly Exciting' - Track 7.

  • Oops. Disregard the last comment, but it is on iTunes (and eMusic) and it's Jason Forrest's album 'Shamelessly Exciting.'

  • reminded me of samurai jack

  • Great song, great video!

  • Good stuff

  • love the song, love the video, love marching band, love guitar battles!

  • This is how I like to believe that pirates actually ruled the seven seas: with heavy guitar riffs and bass heavy beats! They rocked the world flat!

  • When is this going to be the opening act for Oasis? That would freakin' rock

  • But what if my love surprises me by leaving me?!

  • that was cool

  • This sounds like the Blood Sweat and Tears song, "Spinning Wheel". Can't this dude write his own music?

  • It's called sampling. Many electronique artists work chiefly from samples, warping and rearranging them to create new sounds. Spinning Wheels had some great musical moments which he chose to highlight in this piece; whether he paid for the sampling I can't say.

  • You're thinking of "Go Down Gamblin'", not "Spinning Wheel."
