why are all these tutorials on how to divide 216 or 36 by 6..? the hard part about making the cube for me is that it sticks together and falls apart when i try to do any folding. they don't line up properly they fall into spherical stacking instead of orthogonal. i haven't found a video yet that explains the technique for dealing with this.
@ZafireCondor yeah that's what i've been doing. they arrived in the mail a few hours ago and i'm still messing with them. i'm always able to form cubes when i separate things with cards and put the two things i want to connect on opposite sides of the card and rotate them till they line up properly..
but i haven't been able to fold the 6x36 sheets into layers yet. they always screw up and wobble out of alignment.
i'm hoping it's just some technique that i'll get eventually.
@sharpnova2 You will get it. It takes some practise. Also, notice I always fold the same way I don't go back and forth this is because I get the same problem you get when I go back and forth by folding the same way I can ensure correct alignment.
lol there is now at least 5 brands of magnetic ball toys.

@jezarius yep i was definitely doing it the way you were. i think my problems were twofold:
1. lack of coordination due to never using tiny magnets before
2. not visualizing the polarities and fields correctly
but this morning i put it together effortlessly. and then made a tetrahedron pretty easily too. i think i've got it now. thanks
