freedom fighters .... just like the americian revolution...england considered ous to be terrorists..the media tells yu what to think ... do yu believe them?
if part of england was taken over by the IRA then the english fighting back would be freedom fighter right?? give back the land and would end..if not...it will go on for ever ...blame the english gov for everything!! use yur brain
@Thaluckysun1 The Catholics in N. Ireland don't even want to leave the UK anymore, the IRA had a lot of support in the 70's and 80's for civil rights of Irish Catholics by the late 90's there was more equality. Now the provo's are non existent and there's barely any violence at all
Just read some of the comments can,t wait to see how this guy takes it on the chin when the islamic world take there toll on the usa. But then again he can,t because they will be freedom fighters and his crowd will be oppressors. Thats right is,it.
@alanheath3 in this case its completely threw the ira were freedom fighters it doesnt say anything about it in this but the provos was first started to protect the irish community after burning, damage or intimidation by loyalists forced 1,505 Catholics from their homes in Belfast
@libertycaps666 I don't doubt the Catholic minority was treated very badly by some Protestants with little protection from the state however in a few years the IRA were murdering anyone irrespective of nationality, religion or anything else. A bomb does not choose.
@alanheath3 Listen, I understand if you believe that the United Kingdom is great & a nation that only delivers justice, but - as hard as it is to learn it - the truth is more important than beliefs. The IRB/IRA were heroes. They fought oppression. The Prov. IRA took the next step. They fought to unite Éire. They fought to defend Ireland from the political & military corruption that the people saw growing in Europe. What, did you expect them to wage a conventional war against Britain?
@alanheath3 The Prov. IRA utilized unconventional warfare, invented by Michael Collins, because it was the most effective path as Britain continued to deny the option of solving issues diplomatically. Yes, the IRA's splinter groups did terrible things. But if the U.K did not have the world brainwashed into thinking that the Irish were the terrorists, then they would see the covered-up Loyalist/Prot. Paramilitary atrocities, the war crimes, etc. that sparked the Irish fight for freedom.
@alanheath3 You immediately identified yourself as ignorant to the Troubles when you mentioned "bomb" since the British think the IRA are terrorists for the explosives that were aimed at mil. forces, & again I believe the UK should've dealt w/ the situation diplomatically rather than sending a thousand men to their deaths. The U.S/U.K commit crimes against civis more than the IRA did. It's sad that the Troubles occurred, but it's even worse that you don't know what truly happened. Blindness...
@alanheath3@alanheath3 I'd argue with you, but it's Christmas & I will respect the fact that it is known as a day of happiness. Believe what you want, deny what you do not hold true, but just remember that on this day God sent his son to prove that he is watching over us, he will not let people live in oppression for eternity. Nollaig Shona Dhuit.

@Thaluckysun1 They were terrorists in the American revolution. Just the media, as you put it, usually tells a different story.
