regarding his singing--I read somewhere a quote where he said he wanted to do "adult contemporary with an edgy quality" or words to that effect. Does anybody know just what he meant? Does he mean he wanted to update and revitalize the power ballad (my first impression from his words) or that he wants to be "edgy" in terms of lyrics--topical content, social or political content (my friend's thought.) Any thoughts from anyone on that?

He is pretty good from what you can tell here. Tone quality is all right. I'm guessing the whispered elements were chosen for effect, lots of singers have done that. I'd be curious to know what his voice/tone quality would sound like if he really belted out a song.

@wis7dom This isn't singing, it's whispering/mumbling a few low notes of a mostly stationary melody. His singing is about as elegant as his skating: not very.
