No Im sorry Im not a part of the universe. I am in it though. If Im apart of the universe then I am also in Jessica Albas big fat vagina. As far as I could tell when I last checked. Im NOT. yea we may be made of star stuff but we arent star stuff. We are human stuff. If you wanna say we are star suff then say we are Jessica Albas Vagina stuff too since we are supposeldy all connected.. LOL This is all bullshit. I am me. Not a fukin star.
@greenguy444 Whatever go fuk a star. yea everything is made of what stars are made of. So fukin what. Does a star pay my bills? Does a star get me laid or feedme or give me a shirt or a house to survive? All this bullshit that we are start stuff is lame. WHo fukin cares? Noone. Its vanity. Its like saying Im special cause I have a proton in me and so does the planet Jupiter. ! Duh. Hey How bout this. Ron Jeremy is a dude. I am too. SO Im a rockin porn star? LOL grow up trix r 4 kidz
i've read the bible, nowhere, and i mean nowhere, will you see/hear something as beautiful Mr. Tysons beautiful words... why have gods when we have men like these.
@keithrose4227 :"atheist and death do not mix. On your deathbed the spiritual side of life will have you see the truth. first God then us."
yeah, when religious ppl say that, thinking it a sound argument, they don't know just how much they have proven to us religions are nothing more than emotional crutches
That was one of the most inspiring, poignant, thoughtful, and beautiful speeches I think I've ever heard. Tyson is an excellent speaker, and you can truly see how passionate he is about his work and the universe in general just in his expressions alone. :)
His facial expression is exactly halfway between him having just smoked a cone and being just about to break into passionately singing an african-american jazzy soul track
I thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life.. and then I started watching Neil Tyson, Carl Sagan.. and all those brilliant minds.. and suddenly I want to revisit my old dream of becoming an astronomer/physicist..
Seeing how great minds in science express their sense of wonders toward the universe, I am ever so humbled and even saddened by the fact that all my life I have seen the world around me with such little curiosity... I'd give anything to be able to see what Newton saw in a falling apple (apocryphal story? maybe. but it's still way cool), what Einstein saw in a clock tower on his way from work, and what Sagan saw in the night sky.
This reminds me of what I call the beauty in science. My vision of when I work on my theories in mathematics. Just that feeling of elegance but complexity at the same time :).
Then humans said, "Let there be god" and there was god. And they saw how good it was. And they praised him, and worshipped him. And they lived in constant fear of his anger.
@DarthHuru yes that shows that the views of god are created by humans who need something to believe in...to hold on to. he may not nessisaraly exsist physicly but mentally and thats what makes it spiritual for some and not others
@DarthHuru and then they got a little education and decided there was no God and created their own God and sent millions to die in ovens in Gemany and before that slaughtered in the name of reason in the French revolution and then slaughtered by the millions in russia and just a little less in Cambodia where skulls are piled high and the hundreds of millions slaughtered in the womb by the atheist doctor who was taught that he evovled from a slimy piece of goo in that atheistic biology class.
@whiteliketar so religiuos people dont go to wars ? like crusades ? like whole medieval ages? like burning witches ? like norhter ireland ? it doesn;t matter if you belive in god or not, humans will be always the same, the only difference is how you explain why you kill....
@DarthHuru there are always wars going on because the nature of man is sinful just as the as the good Book says - when those so called christians were going to war - were they obeying Christ or disobeying the prince of peace? or perchance you don't know what Christ stood for. whoesale slaughter and atheism obeys itself pretty much.
@whiteliketar by stating that you say that no atheist can be a good man, that beeing far from god he will be always sinful. And i've met many atheist that were better people that many christians.
@DarthHuru everyone has a measure of goodness - who can deny that? so how can we measure this goodness? an atheist is forced to invent his own yardstick which can keep changing accroding to the weather so to speak - However Christ came to expose the hypocrisy behind outward expressions of goodness. it's like having a cream shirt and thinking it is white until a blindlingly white ivory shirt is placed next to it. Christ had the most trouble with religious people.
@whiteliketar Christianity was basically taken from Ancient Egyptian ideologies! There are so many parallels present. Have you read the "Pyramid Texts" or the "Book of the Dead"? There have been over hundreds of different religions in the history of mankind, so what makes Christianity more right than another?
@IEtherianSoul9 ha ha - so the disciples were now scholars of egyptian culture - try balancing youtr bias with what Christian scholars and historians have to say and even what secualr historians have to say about the life of Christ - perhaps the propaganda that you have your mind will at least be challenged critically. A man cannot be convinced against his will so you might have a problem with the truth.
"and on the eighth day man said "let there be god!, for i am fearful and superstitious" genisis 1:3.5 ... the part the didnt want anyone to read from the bible... Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “awhitesoul2012” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
Thanks.
