  • WHY DO I LOVE 8-BIT SO MUCH?!?!?

  • People see TAS and go like "yeah it's only hacked crap" but this player went out of his way to provide many MANY stances of pure style in the run. He deserves a lot of credit.

  • Look's like the last Megaman classic game, because Dr.Wily exploded into many tablets.Bye-bye,classic Megaman.

  • Can you cheat like this in PS3?

  • @Lakersgay You can't even "cheat" like this on Wii. This is a Tool Assissted Speedrun, so you need an Emulator to slow down the game for you and create savestates.

  • I love Mega Man 10. My second favorite Mega Man game.

  • I love watching how ridiculously awesome tool assisted playthroughs are lol

  • Wow, is fast as Megaman 5 when changing areas...

  • @Giraffecheetah

    ....wow, just...wow

  • HARD ROCK

    lol

  • WHATCHU KNOW ABOUT RUSH

  • lol that's more entertaining than james bond

  • I thought grass was super-effective against water...

  • how did you shoot so fast

  • Very entertaining. I've learned a couple of small corners to cut to improve my speed run now. Thanks!

  • LOL @ 7:58

Buses crash into each other :D

  • A Wii play With a tool assisted speed run.

  • I played it on PS3 system.

  • oh god the bosses died even faster than in others Megaman o_o

  • 26:46 I DON'T BELIEVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • is there going to be a megaman 9 TAS?

  • @karldoenitz22

Not anytime soon. I'm currently working on a Hard Mode with Bass run through MM10 again. Mega Man 9 doesn't have quick switching. This means all weapon switching has to be done through the menu, which results in slower and unattractive game play.

  • No slide in 9, no slide in 10.....did he forget how to somewhere along the way?

  • 3:40 moondance :D

  • Imagine how much it'd suck to make it through without taking damage only to get hit during the final fight..

  • There's a level of showmanship here that's nothing less than fantastic. Showing that Megaman 10's Robot Master weapons can in fact be used in stage-practical application is a feat of its own.

  • So what emulator was used? Dolphin?

  • @KyvannShrike YES xD

  • Wow, this is one of the most entertaining and strategically-informative TASes I've ever seen, and the entertainment value is particularly impressive due to the immense lack of glitches. Amazing work, diggidoyo.

  • 27:44 cool slide ;D

  • You can do Wii TAS videos now?

Can't wait for someone to do Contra Rebirth.

  • I like a good TAS, but when someone like diggidoyo goes out of the way to make a run that's extra entertaining (nonsensical jumping, near death experiences, and big powerup drops EVERYWHERE), that just puts the icing on the cake for me. And I LOVE cake!

  • the bosses don't have the invulnerabilty after receiving a shot?? that's too easy

  • @DruidVorse

They do. But I bypass it using a glitch.

  • @Diggidoyo oh ok it saves a lot of time

  • this speed run is awesome. nice work man

  • @flussence Well, since it's not an NES game, it doesn't run off an NES emulator. And since it's a TAS, it's not on its native system. Logic dictates there must be a Wii emulator.

  • I didn't ask this since 2006, but where did you download this? How?

  • Are you kidding me Capcom?

You expect me to believe that Mega Man--after NINE prequels worth of fighting against Dr. Wily--would suddenly decide, "Oh, Dr. Wily wants to be my friend. Well OF COURSE I'll trust him!"

    Lame.

  • amazing

  • Pump Man Stage brought to you by Castrol Syntec: Its not just oil, its Dr. Wily's engineering.

  • This game confuses me with the boss battles. I'm used to the Megaman series with bosses that have long invincibility between hits... and yet from the first boss battle on this vid we have Commando Man getting shot multiple times in a row.

  • @flamingokai

It's a glitch explained in the description link. Commando Man loses his invincibility time in the air and the other bosses have different exploits.

  • @Diggidoyo Thanks man. I always picked Commando Man as the first enemy in this game and now I know why he's so "easy"... :|

  • wow, he actually makes the commando bomb seem useful

  • @GREY Actually its like you going to a nascar race and you complaining that the racers aren't running instead of driving cars

  • so...the first willy was real then the fake died?

  • @Parakoopatroopa

this is how retards comment all the time.

    LOL STUPID YOUTUBERS

  • 3 people were dr. wily's minions

  • Who gave Chuck Norris the controller?

  • @Angel13691

so you didn't see the first few seconds of the video that said "TAS"? wow you must be retarded too.

  • I love TAS runs. Showing me I've been doing it wrong all this time has never looked so good.

  • 08:47 Excesive amounts of Large Healths, much?

  • While there is room for improvement, it's nice to finally see a TAS of this.

  • The only way to improve this would be to find a zipping glitch.

  • Congratulations for the oldest tool-assisted speedrun for the Wii.

  • Both the Wii and the PS3 versions let me skip everything except the credits. What's going on here.

  • Comment removed

  • @NotMadeByMe

You can't skip cutscenes on your first playthrough.

  • Dolphin FTW!

  • why didn't he take any damage at 4:01?

  • beautiful...masterful. :B well done

  • MM10 weapons are useless you say! I say FUCK YOU

  • Sheep Man? Awesome...

  • A Mega Man 10 TAS completed before a Mega Man 9 TAS? I don't know if I'm happy or sad about it, but hey, it's Mega Man 10 so I'm happy! ^_^

  • you know what i cant wait for, in the future when 360 and Ps3 emulator are made which dont suck so we can see TAS of games like Bayonetta and God of War

  • Does this run on an emulated NES or natively?

  • @flussence Neither... Since it's a Wii game...

  • @Jahkayhla So if it doesn't run natively on the wii, does it run off pixie dust and hallucinations?

  • @flussence You mean an emulator?

Also, I lol'd at 3:38. Didn't think moonwalking through another room without an icy floor was possible, especially there.

  • Yay, the first official Wii TAS! I'm happy to see this! :D

Ok it's a WiiWare game but it's from the Wii! :)

  • Soulja Boy tell'em

  • Whoah. That's much less rerecords than I thought.

  • @KTP200

It's actually a lot more than that. There was a bug with the rerecord counter in the revision of Dolphin I was using.

  • Holy crap, I didn't know these kinds of things were capable in this engine.

How did you fire so fast/kill bosses so fast? I thought bosses get a bit of invulnerability when they get damaged? Was that only in the older games or am I recalling incorrectly?

Regardless, great job with the run and video!

  • @gamerkim28

I was wondering this too... Didn't know you could drain a boss' HP so fast with just a buster

  • @ZorakStart

As for the Commando Man battle, he loses all invincibility while jumping.

That's why he dies faster than any of the other bosses.

  • @NonRandomUser

That's awesome; something to keep in mind when I play again!

  • @gamerkim28

According to the runner (diggidoyo), bosses only have 20 frames of invincibility (1/3 of a second).

Older NES games had something like 60 frames (1 whole second).

On addition, the Triple Blade weapon bypasses most bosses' invinicibility frames, allowing even quicker deaths.

  • @NonRandomUser

    Thanks!

  • I like to imagine that this is how Mega Man went through the story's events in canon. XP

  • @COlimar788 sorry if this is a dumb question but what is canon?

  • @superkeenenbell Canon is the accepted story and plot elements that are considered "correct" for any given series. For instance, the Mega Man games have a different canon than the Mega Man Megamix manga, as, though the events are similar, they are ultimately different and mutually exclusive.

That... may have been a bad explanation, so if you're still confused you might try checking Wikipedia's page on the subject.

  • @GREYIII

That's because you're being stupid and comparing two things that are inherently incomparable. TAS videos can NOT be compared to standard speedruns, and no player in either camp would even suggest it. Would you look at a soapbox derby and compare it to rally racing? Of course not, that's stupid. So why do it here? A tool assisted speed run is still a speed run, but with slightly different goals.

  • @GREYIII Don't have to do work? That's absolute nonsense! Try making one yourself. Oh wait, you can't.

  • @GREYIII It's like comparing apples and oranges mate. This is a measure of precision and perfection, not necessarily skill, even though making a successful Tool-Assisted Speedrun is quite a difficult task that takes dedication and patience.

  • you sir have skills

  • Love how show-offy this TAS is, I enjoy seeing MM runs that actually make use of the weapons, even if it's to off-handedly nuke something behind you with a weapon that makes no difference in the speed. Fun times.

  • Imagine if this was rejected for not using the hard difficulty.

  • @artman40 Unlikely - the site tends to prefer videos that are done from clean game memory, and hard mode isn't unlocked from the start. That said, that doesn't preclude this run from being a starting point for a hard mode run, now that we have a verifiable "save" that can be used as a starting point.

  • @sgrunt1987 Indeed. I wonder if completing the game on hard mode would be faster or slower.

  • @artman40

Slower. Unless its with Bass (Which I might do)

  • @sgrunt1987

So, now that you have a clean save, is a Hard Mode run in the works or on the agenda in the future?

    BTW, amazing run! :D

  • @artman40 general rule is they won't take a run if it starts from a save file (necessary for hard mode) though they'll take exceptions with good reason (see the current SOTN run)

  • Skip the cutscenes, man. What the hell.

  • @NotMadeByMe

    I would if I could, but I can't. So I won't.

  • What happened at 4:02 when you landed on the spikes? I didn't see any kind of glitch, but something must have happened since you didn't die or take damage.

  • @GodOfThings see below - a spike guard was bought just before the stage.

  • how did he take no damage from landing on spikes?

  • @ilazul by means of spike guard, bought just before that stage.

  • Nice job! I was waiting for a MM10 TAS.

  • Is it just me, or do the weapon energy bars and boss lifebars look grayed-out?

  • @NonRandomUser Not just you - YouTube seems to have tripped up on transcoding the video (was not like that in what I uploaded). If you watch the main TASVideos site and/or the submission thread, a higher quality downloadable encode / stream will be available in the next day or so.

  • 20:59 Yeah, nice work on those robots wily

  • excellent

  • Comment removed

  • Great run! I wonder which categories will be accepted in further Mega Man 10 TAS runs.

  • very good tas, but was there any reason to run this over (in my opinion the better game) mega man 9?

  • @Timic83tgwtg

Yes. Two words: weapon switching. MM9 doesn't have it and this results in a pause heavy run.

  • @Timic83tgwtg Mega Man 9 requires you to go into the pause screen to switch weapons. Thus, the end result either would be disappointingly unentertaining (over half the run spent on the pause screen), or the run's in-game time would be significantly higher than the run at SDA.
