Nice. Only thing I see that is wrong is that (from the way I was always taught) you're dropping the bar too low. For incline it's supposed to stop at the same level as your nose.
Well...you shoulders are involved throughout the movement. It depends where you position your elbows, as to how much shoulder activation you will get with this movement (i.e. tucked or out wide). You actually get a great stretch, and thus, great upper pec activation by going lower in this movement.
With that said, I am not trying to isolate the pecs here either. If the shoulders were involved more, that's not a bad thing either. I am just trying to get stronger.
I am glad someone cleared that up! I normally bench like you man. The only reason I even locked out at the top of my incline press is because people like to talk shit on youtube, your going down to low, your not going up all the way, blah blah blah.. I hit 225 on incline for only 7 reps this time around because I was pre exhausted from flat and incline dumbells, But generally I start with incline do 225 for 13 reps and stop three quarters of the way up like you do.
congrats you are getting stronger every day and you seem to be doing so naturally (without the use of steroids) today I broke the 15 rep max on the incline at 205 lbs. keep it up bro
Thanks - you too. I have a ways to go to catch your 365 lb incline, but I am getting there! Keep the videos coming; they're great motivation for me. RB
do you have a six pack? I'm wondering just because I used to bench 275 but I wanted to get a six pack and cut weight and i'm all the way down to 225. Wondering if you knew how to cut weight but keep the strength.
Of course it is possible to build strength and keep a six-pack. I am not sure I am the right guy to give you advice on how though, as I just eat normal foods and train. Nothing too scientific here...
Good luck with that my friend and thanks for watching...
ha u fuker i got that the other night so ha I incline just as much and im catching up on the bench just repped 315 for 5 getting stronger every week.. Im gonna pass u.. might not have as good form but I will pass u AGHHAHA! AGHHA! AGHHAHAHA!
Great to hear you are using my vid's to push yourself. That's why I am on YouTube; I enjoy finding motivation by trying to lift more than other guys here. There are a lot of strong dudes on here, so there is no telling how much competition you can arrange.
I took a look at some of your vid's and you need to clean up your form if you want to compare your strength to mine my friend. Your incline vid's are only partial reps and you need to keep your ass on the flat bench...
With all that said, I like how you are against drugs, etc. Clean up your form a little bit, keep training hard, and who knows, maybe you will catch me.
But I doubt it.
How much are you doing for a 1 rep max on the incline and the flat bench? My best incline is 325 lbs and my best flat bench is 377.5 lbs (both vid's are posted).
I am guessing by your incline vid's that you can't incline 3 plates for a full, strict rep,so you aren't the same as me yet.
what type of diet, and supplements are you on...i recently dropped like 60lbs. n now im workin on putting on mass. What would u suggest? Once again u have put another awesome show, very impressive.
Thanks for the comment - I appreciate it. I am probably not the best person to ask about diet and supplements, as I just try to eat decent (no real diet plan) and I don't use any supplements. I think you get enough from regular old food...and I am too cheap to waste my money on supplements. Sorry bro...
Thanks bro...I made that comment because of bskola's video of him doing 20 reps on the incline (check it out). Some girl goes lunging by the camera twice...it's funny.
nice lift man

hey man, what do you do in order to increase the amount you can benchpress cause im having a problem with making progress.
geoprimus 2 years ago
There a lot of things you can do bro...do some research on West Side Barbell, or the 5/3/1 program...those are decent places to start. Good luck.

Wow...315 lbs for 5 eh? As Dorian Yates would say, "that's not bad, for a small woman." Jokes...
I enjoy competition bro...let me know when you hit 400 lbs on the bench. The race is on!
I'll check up on your process from time to time...keep posting those vid's. Train hard bro...

Almost mate, and that girl thing doesnt work. You need to concentrate otherwise it goes wrong. But I don't need to tell you that.
Looking forward to see if you in your next workout will succeed.

Dude, this is fucking beast. Good job man. Question how much are you maxing out now on the regular bench?
DimmuBorgir007 3 years ago
Thanks bro...I set this short-term incline goal to take my mind off the 400 lb bench, as I was getting a little stuck.
I haven't maxed out for a while (last one was 375 lbs). I will try again within the next week or so.
BRETZERR 3 years ago
Good job man... you'll get 20 next time.
bskola 3 years ago
Thanks bro...maybe I would have hit that 20th rep if I had some girl lunging by taking my mind of the burn in my chest!!! LOL
Hopefully next week...thanks again for posting your vid and keep them coming.
