krispyk20, thanks for portraying the more affluent segment of Pakistani society. Hopefully, it will show viewers that all of Pakistan is not poor or fundamentalist. I hate one-sided portrayals of ANY society, and we've seen enough of the whacked-out suicide bombing segment of south Asia. We need to see more complimentary videos of Pakistan's rich culture in order to get rid of the stereotype.

The story may be fictional, but it does do an honest job of presenting the other side of Pakistan. This video is not trying to compete with the view of Pakistan presented by "conventional news media", just attempting to show that the reality on the ground is not exactly all negative as depicted by the news.

I hate it when I come across unfair caricaturised view of Pakistan in the media, but at the same time I feel uncomfortable with any sanitised portrayal or a view through rose-tinted glasses, reality can be both interesting and inspiring without being glossed over.

Is this depiction of Pakistan really a truly representative side of the country as a whole?

I must confess this depicts nothing more than how the better off half of the country lives. Afterall, you must keep in mind the primary purpose of this video was to showcase the consumer financial products of a multinational bank operating in Pakistan. Their target audience was the affluent, urban population.

I have no qualms about the video as a commercial; it is very well made and no doubt was a roaring success for the Dutch bank.

I was dubious about the envious standard of living and the fashionable lifestyle portrayed in the video, IMHO it is not a reality for the vast majority of Pakistani population except for the opulent elite.
