We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
my sister's friend had one from the exact same year and he sold it for a HUGE lime green monster truck that stands almost 8 ft. tall and the tires are 40 in.!
nice video my dads friend has a 1967 camaro the same as yours but in burgundy and he wants to sell it to me for 18k because it has new engine and transmission and he installed disc brakes and currently has 9 miles on the engine do you think its a good buy or should i buy a 2010 dodge challenger. But i thimk i should go with the camaro because i can sell it for 80k and buy 2 challengers?
Beautiful car. You said you installed a rear spoiler, that was good I think. The other things I would do is install a factory style cowl hood, and like someone else mentioned I would trim the tailpipes a couple inches to factory length. Really nice car though!

@iRIDEaHONDA9 - I've been in the auto repair industry for over 25 years, have owned a Yenko Camaro for 20+ years, and etc. Nah, I don't know squat. lol
question. I have a 1967 Camaro convertable rs 4 speed manual, and i am looking to get some moderate sounding mufflers. is there any way you could make a video of you reving the engine a little? this is the only video i could find with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. Thanks
yeah that guy is loping alot my pop is running 12.5:1 in his 355sbc 1969 camaro. Trying to get him to go 383 low compresion and turbo maybe 9.0:1 that way yhe could run pump gas and still have a 600+whp car. Your exhaust seems a little small though. Good looking car though

Can everyone please register at this site to help my brother win this bracket round. He is in a restoration contest (5 round bracket voting) for a car he restored. It's the blue 1968 Yenko Camaro that took him 3 years to finish. It would mean a lot for us if you could sign up and vote!
flywheel wtf haha. these magnum series cams have reall aggressive lobe seperations ground into em. thats why they lope so much. also sounds like its idleing a tad slow. im runn the same cam in my 406 i idle it right at a 1000rpms. also runnin a 3000 stall and it could still use some more haha
Sounds awsome, do u not run a stall converter??? Im putting a 300/310 duration 488/510 lift in my 327 bored 60 over and hope it sounds as good as this.
That thing sounds good! Looks sweet too! I'm getting ready to build a 355 for my 68 impala 2 door and i'm shooting for about 400-425 HP. I'm going with the same cam as you. My brother had the same cam in his SBC 400 and it sounded just like that...he had alot into it and got about 475 HP out of it.
How much CFM(Carburator) do you have on it?i have a car Pontiac GTO 6.6L 1969 400 and i have 11:1 comp and i have a dual kit! with comp and everything and i have too 500 CFM Edelbrock Carbs is it 2 much or how much do you give it?
not true. larger cam = more rpms. more rpms = more cfm required. so indirectly a cam will affect cfm requirement on a particular motor. cfm requirement is based on a lot of factors.
355 cu.? That's not stock for a 67 is that? I have a 67 ss and it came with the 350 stock, but i uped to a 572, figured i needed more lol. beautiful cars tho. whats the rear end built to? personally i had mine built to a 69 z28 but now w/the massive power had to go dana. love the car tho
Nice camaro! Yes, I want to put a hot cam in my 01 silverado but I am afraid of it stalling just like that, which would not be good since it's my daily driver!
very nice car. I would install a stock trunk spoiler. I would cut back those tail pipes and install some nice chrome tips or stainless. But very nice as is
love the flowmaster sounds freaking mean. very nice car must be a great conversation starter :D. My dad used to have one too bad he sold it in 71 :( .
Man that is a car. The 67 has always been my fav of anything. I have looked forever to find one to fix up myself but i cant anywere maybe one day i hope. Anyway that is a sweet ass car dont ever let it go.
ive always loved this vid. was never a fan of flowmaster, but thats one sick setup. i think ill convert over from mag's lol. what heads are ya using? and the .501 lift, is that after your rocker arm ratio or before?
i might have replied a long time ago, but if not then thanks for the vid and nice job =]
Heads look like they are stock heads, although I'm not too sure. The ,501 lift if before the rocker arm ratio. I believe it has 1.6 harland sharp roller rockers.
yea bro, it stalled. I had just started the motor up, so she wasn't warm yet. Also the car has a Demon Carb with an electric choke. And the choke is a real piece of crap lol. So it's disconnected. Hence the super rough idle. Once it warms up more it idles a bit higher (see other vid).
thanks for the comments guys, i really apreciate it. it's always cool to see what people have to say about your videos.
this video that i threw up was pretty lame lol, i just took it quickly with a digital camera. I'll have to get some better video (interior, under the hood , and drive bys :)etc)
what part of the suspension do you want to see? The car use to have Race Competition Engineering Traction bars on it, I took them off, bc they looked gaudy. It's now just a stock 67' leafspring suspension w/ KYB shocks. It probably wouldnt hookup too well w/ out the traction bars. But for a 60s muscle car it handles exceptionally well.
yeah there going up in price i could deffo sell my # match 327 68 Camaro for way more than i paid (which wasnt that much lol) without doing anything to it, although its had a new grill and front spoiler, rear shocks - needs leafs, needs bit bodywork and a respray, etc, its never ending lol
I know! I just got my '67 (really expencive in Norway) but I'm going to do some changes on it when the snow starts to fall down... New springs and a new paintjob plus some rust under the rear seat.. I'm going for a spin right now, there's a street legal race nearby today! Maybe I'll add some videos on my 67 later today :P

Bran247 3 years ago
Sounds rather tinny, and it has a major idling problem. Hopefully buy now he/she has fixed it.
db98647 3 years ago
Probably got a big cam so the idle is offbeat by nature, a little higher idle rmp and finetuning the needles on carb should get it running sweet.
BessieMorrison 3 years ago
u no a lot about cars if u think it has an idle problem
kevinmark4 2 years ago
Well, the real problem is that the engine builder most likely put an under weight flywheel.
This lets the engine rev up fast, but at the cost of low end idle stability.
db98647 2 years ago
huh? no, the chunky cam specs make for the aggressive lope.
the flywheel? c'mon!!

spyxter 4 years ago
thanks for the comment. a 40 year old engine that is still making 400hp. not too bad in my book. sbc is the best bang for the buck now-a-days.
camarofanatic67 4 years ago
id agree with that, i still have the original motor in my car and its making good power too
SIGGERNER88 4 years ago
spyxter:
you are obviously ignorant.
up until recently corvettes have been using 5.7 liter engines. they made under 400 horsepower (for the most part).
it's about the power curve. V8s typically have a very broad power/torque curve.
import motors very often make decent power but you have to rev them to the moon to get it.
realize the difference and accept it for what it is.
sootandstarz 4 years ago
Does improving peak power lower the power on low revs?
But I still wanna see how suspension of this thing looks like. :)
spyxter 4 years ago
yes, with a big cam, you lose a little low end.
what part of the suspension do you want to see? The car use to have Race Competition Engineering Traction bars on it, I took them off, bc they looked gaudy. It's now just a stock 67' leafspring suspension w/ KYB shocks. It probably wouldnt hookup too well w/ out the traction bars. very nice car! how are you making 400hp?

ported heads, big cam, world products intake, demon carb. It's just a street motor.

The car is very nice but how about a video of you speeding down the street at 90 mph

Thanks I apreciate it. I restored the whole car myself. It was alot of work, but worth it. These cars are only going up in value.
