I barely made it past two minutes, & had to stop. I couldn't watch it anymore. Chris, are you TRYING to cripple yourself??? W/an exit weight of around 270#s. That thing will slam your back/neck into Gimpville right quick. Do you want to not be able to jump anymore? That fuqqin thing might give you your wish.
I thought that Atair were developing a two stage deployment system? I had a Atair "Ace" 150 that would periodicaly riser bitch slap me and one spinning opening that I had to Chop, All Pro packed. Spectra lines. Still nothing like fishing my rig out of an intermate place after sabre1 openings. Currently have a Crossfire1 140- 1000 ft on heading openings everytime.
It's a Comp Cobalt 150, W/L 1.8. It originally had Spectra lines, but Mel installed Vectran during the reline. I psycho pack, which is the only way I was able to jump it. Everytime it was pro packed it would break a line, or the camera would black out from the shock. It has a pocket slider on it now, it's much better.
I guess the only big mistake what rigger made was changing lines from Spectra to Vectran... Vectran are hard and without stretching what is necessarily for your canopy, the bigger slider could help too, maybe ask the company...
this is obvious mistake... if canopy is designed to Spectra never change it to HMA or Vectran.. maybe Dacron are similiar properties but Im unsure about it
ive heard of this happening on cobalts b4. an old friend of mine had one where they acdntly installed speedflying ines (so the canopy was not angled down) and the openings sucked. interesting to see this
There's something wrong with the canopy. The factory installed the lineset wrong, but a new lineset didn't fix the openings. It's being looked at now.
Holy sh*t dude...You put up with that crap? Even your "good" openings weren't good. I jumped a 105 for about 150 jumps and never had an opening even close to this.
I sure hope you sent it back to get it checked out.
