I really enjoyed the movie, it did feel a bit rushed and I could definitely tell that they left a lot out (i have not read the book) but the environment and the idea was very interesting, kind of a mashup of sever different books I have read

I've been reading this book and suspected they were underground. The reason they don't know they are underground is because they don't know what it means to be above ground or below ground. They known nothing but the blackness beyond the lights. But in the book there is a mention of the girl thinking there must be a tunnel or staircase that leads somewhere to a place filled with light.

dude this doesn't seem like the book at all. Actually it seems like a much more developed plot than the book. I actually dont think the book was that great. I couldn't help but to first think of "the giver" a little bit. Im guessing the movie will be better than the book. You know that is actually possible?

The city's built underground so it completely lacks light. And there's nothing really in the darkness, people just get to terrified when they go to look. x.x Not really a spoiler since, that has absolutely nothing to due with the storyline.

Because they thought that the whole world was gonna get blown up by nukes, and they wanted a way to make sure that there would still be people around. Underground seemed to be the best way.
