  • what is this crap, other than an excuse to run ads? what bullshit

  • Why did people hate the man who used his great ability to accomplish what he was paid to do? If the opposition couldn't keep up with him, that's their problem.

  • @Watersnake777 - My guess Watersnake is because Tyrus was such a horrible human being. His amazing baseball achievements aside, people hate him mainly because he was the devil incarnate. On and off the field. Would've loved to see him play though...

  • I am honored to say I am related to this great man! He inspired me to start playing baseball when I was young. James R. Cobb III

  • BEST HIITTER AND RUNNER EVER

  • ty cobbbbbbbb lol should to get along with me you better be white lol the georgia peach love em

  • Cobb was the first player to swing multiple bats before stepping up to the plate. He also remains the only American Leaguer to lead in homers and stolen bases in the same season.Another relatively unknown fact about Cobb is that he patented a cork handled bat around 1913 that was used by the Louisville Slugger folks until around 1931 or so.

  • Cobb was good. Real good.

But Ruth was way better. WAAAAYYY better. Way-hay-hay-hay-HAYYYYY better!

    Simple as that!

  • @TheBatugan77 Agreed. To me Ruth is the greatest ever simply because he was a great pitcher and THEN put up historic hitting numbers. It's like A-Rod winning 20 games as a pitcher, world series pitcher and then hitting 100 HR's in a season (yes - that was the equivelent then when Ruth was hitting 50 and 60 compared to the rest of league. Ruth was hitting more hr's in a season than most teams! and a .342 avg. Insane.

  • What's with all the negatives? Artsy fartsy to the max?

  • Say what you want of ole Ty, but if were on the diamond with him you'd say it at a distance.

  • 1:29...that ain't cobb

  • I'm surprised more ballplayers have'nt tried adapting that unique grip that Cobb used, with his hands choked up and separated. It looks kinda strange but It obviously works, seeing how he is the greatest hitter that ever lived and all. Ty Cobb: Baseball God.

  • What a fuckin' stud!

  • Cobb was the best hitter of all time. It wasn't Ted Williams.

  • @SalSanMar3 Williams was the best pure hitter. Cobb was the best hitter for average. Cobb was a MUCH better all around ball player. But I stress that Teddy Ballgame was a also a much better person than Cobb.

  • @TheGinger48 What do you mean by pure hitter? The way I see it, average determines the best hitter.

  • @SalSanMar3 Ted Williams has the best on-base-percentage-plus-slugging percentage, next to Ruth. Williams is in the top 15 for home runs. Williams Rarely struck out more than 50 times a season and frequently drew more than 100 walks. Williams ate, breathed, and slept hitting, Willliams wanted to be known as the best hitter ever. Cobb just wanted to be #1, he didn't give a damn about anyone or anything else, or how he became #1.

  • Ty Cobb was The Man!!!

  • @danteras23 He was a great ball player and a terrible person. Even his team-mates hated him.

  • cobb makes all of todays players look like pansies and fi-fi boys. there is no one out there today that plays the game anywhere near as hard as guys like pete rose and cobb. and nobody ever will again. they also played at a time with out PEDs and fancy training programs. they did it all with desire and well developed talent.

  • He was the Greatest Base Runner and Hitter of the Dead Ball era. Although Hounus Wagner was great too. People shoulld look beyond his Bigotry and realize the Intellect of a great Ball Player like Ty Cobb

  • I wish I could have seen him play in person. Thanks for posting this. Glad to know he is kicking butt in the Ghost Leagues.

  • Ty Cobb rocks

  • who would win Chuck Noris or Ty Cobb? I bet Cobb would kill Chuck Noris

  • Excellent job!! I think 'ol Ty himself would have been pleased.

  • LOVE the thriller laugh!

  • come on...seriously making him look like zues...stop it you are dishonoring him

  • Ty shouldn't play when it's lightning out. What's up with that?

  • Nice...nice.

  • This is excellent!!!!!! Thinking if you live in Detroit perhaps on Halloween a group of us can meet at the corner in Vintage uniforms for pics...AKA the ghost game

  • Experiment In Terror for the fucking win!!! (It's the song for those curious, check out the Fantomas version, it's crazy).

Appropriate song for the subject matter indeed lol.

  • Why isn't this man regarded highly with the greatest athletes of all time??? All hail Tyrus Raymond Cobb!

  • Because he was a racist jerk who tried to hurt other players while playing ball just so he could win. He got nice when he was older though. - Cobb

  • fuck other players if u r not willing to get hurt then dont play

  • spoken like a sideline watcher

  • ty cobb=freddy kreuger

  • This is a nice tribute. Cobb was the greatest all time undoubtedly. Everything else is pop culture denial. He changed the game forever. Today, they sttill play Cobb-style MLB. Thank god! We will never see another Ty Cobb.

  • only on the senoir circuit broseph cobb style ball died in the american league in 1969 when owners decided their pitchers were pussies and could not bat thats fucked up baseball ever since

  • cobb a mean s. o. b.

  • i love this montage to use a frenchified saying i love baseball and ilove ty cobb i wish i was like stan musial the jesus christ of our game but i cant be i plow into infielders with my spikes high i have a god complex to this day this man was the greaters ballplayer to ever live

  • YES SIR,, THANK GOODNESS LOL

  • cobb rules the rest drools

  • Good video. Nice footage. Good music. Love Ty's quotes. It's hard to argue who's the best player of all time, and who created the modern game.

  • Ty Cobb-The CREATURE!

I think he was related to Vincent Price.

  • nice vid i like the song

  • Really cool. Great music. Great idea. Thanks.

  • He was right handed, but taught himself to bat left handed just so he could be closer to first base. Bloody amazing!

  • so tru cheerio mate

  • nce vid

  • The Georgia Peach: the greatest star of the deadball era and nearly universally despised by his fellow players -- including his own teammates. Had he not been a baseball star he would probably have spent his life in a mental institution or a prison. A psychopathic personality and unrepentant racist -- at war with the world to the bitter end.

  • And how much would you pay to watch him play in ONE game?

  • id pay more to see walter johnson pitch or cy young.

  • Irrelevant, and you know it.

I'd rather see Jolson on Broadway c. 1920.

  • Well you're gay.

  • A devastating retort! Oh, my! I bet you're friends in the second grade really enjoyed THAT ONE!

How shall I ever recover from such lambasting?

    How about:

    You're a moron....

    (Jolson rules)

  • You're the one who has to use pointless sarcasm to try to "exercise intellectual authority" over me, a random person you will never know.

Large words aren't impressive, douche bag.

  • Hah? "Pointless sarcasm"??? Where? When?

    What drugs are you on?

  • Hahaha! Douche bag.... I love it!

  • ud pay more to see tryrell cobb bat against either of them look mup his numbers against either of those worthies ill bet u a years salary(1908) his career average against both is 300 or bettewr

  • his name was tyrus not tyrell

  • it made him a great warrior(baseball player) in our jargon only a few men can swing a bat or sword like a knight or samauri in any given generation

  • Thanks for putting that together,.....Cobb was and probably always WILL be the greatest and most misunderstood ball-players who ever graced the field. Many of his records still stand,.....in SPITE of today's physical training programs and performance enhancing drugs.

And for the record,....he wasn't as bad a person as most uneducated fans and wanna-be fans like to think he was,.....he just refused accept second best, and disliked anyone who did.

  • Cobb was timed at 3.4 seconds from home to first and 13.8 seconds around the bases which is outstanding 100 years later.

  • i wouldnt believe any of the times or records cobbs had. he was a great baseball player and he probably owned more records that were thought as untouchable as any baseball owned. but i know he got credited for a batting title cause they counted one game twice that nap lajoie should have won. i believe in 1909, but dont quote me on that.

  • @smtwtfs53 yeah, someone who beat up a black man who was congratulating him just cause he felt that man wasn't allowed to be at the same talking level as him. That totally makes him "not a bad person."

Get your head out of your ass. Being a good athlete doesn't translate to being a good person.

  • Great and creative job. A sad story of a man but one of the very best ballplayers of all time, maybe THE best.

  • Someone can tell me what is the first song played here?!!....HAIL TY COBB!!!

  • Henry Mancini - Experiment in Terror

  • Awesome montage. My favorite baseball player of all time - except for the great Fred "Chicken" Stanley. The Al Stump biographies are most enlightening but read both since the first was influenced strongly by Cobb's editing while the more recent one reveals the things after Cobb's death wherein Stump was able to reveal his true assessment of the Georgia Peach. Cobb - a man at war with the world and himself yet baseball's greatest player of his time and perhaps all-time.

  • Ty Cobb threw down thunder and struck with lightening.

  • It's Criminal out to be a law criminal out tobe a whole lot more u bet nothin for nothin tell me who can u trust we got what u want and u got the lust if u want blood ugot it if u want blood u got it blood on the streets blood on the rocks blood in the gutter blood till last drop Rock fucking Hard ACDC

  • what i just like ACDC it's not my fault

  • Phenomenal! Very impressive tribute to baseball's best.

  • Very, very well done. A nice tribute to the one and only, bona fide Mr. Baseball.

    Cobb's the greatest--always will be.

  • Good stuff buddy!

  • Nice video. I think he's the most interesting baseball player ever. Thanks!

  • Ty Cobbb....best player of all time IMO

    Outstanding video Amigo !!
