  • scary and very sad at the same time ... awesome....

  • excelent work, it portayes the relationship better, i allways had the problem that the relationship was so "polished" so balanced, but then, that is what made holmes holmes

  • Fuck, accidentally hit *dislike*.

Totally love this vid, though :D

  • No one will ever replace Jeremy Brett. He was the only one.

R.I.P. Jeremy Brett, the best Sherlock there will ever exist.

  • Well done ! A good job that succeeds in illustrating their relationship in a faithful way :)

  • This song fits Watson almost entirely. And it fits Holmes way too well.

It feel so dark but really does match. Good job!

  • watching this again.. and loving it, its on the tv every monday... favourite placebo song. This is really good.. its replacing my version of the song on my playlist.. cheers

  • The World is Missing Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes

  • sweet video. you're so talented :)

  • You're so funny :)

  • Really brilliant !

  • Thank you!

  • Fantastic work. I love this song, and I love this television series. Fits the mood very well. Brilliant job, really.

I'd just like to know, though... how long did it take to make?

  • Thanks! I'm so glad you like it. I think it took me a few hours to make this, but I would end up watching large chunks of the episodes while I was supposed to be looking for clips. So, I can only estimate. I'd say between 2 and 3 hours.

  • Ah, impressive all the same.

Just one small point: though cocaine is indeed an addictive drug, and Holmes does indeed use it from time to time, it doesn't appear as though he was ever really an *addict* - he generally just used it when there weren't any interesting cases to be had.

Though you're right; Watson did strongly disapprove of it all the same and felt that even recreational use could be damaging in the long run.

  • It's a matter of interpretation. Watson's comment in MISS is suggestive: "For many years I had gradually weaned him from that drug mania which had threatened once to check his remarkable career. Now I knew that under ordinary conditions he no longer craved this artificial stimulus, but I was well aware that the fiend was not dead but sleeping." A drug addict doesn't stop being addicted just because they stop taking the drug. The habit lays dormant; this seems to be what Watson is describing.

  • Here is the rest of the quote: "...and I have known that the sleep was a light one and the waking near when in periods of idleness I have seen the drawn look upon Holmes's ascetic face, and the brooding of his deep-set and inscrutable eyes." I couldn't fit that in with the word count.

  • True enough, though I do feel that Watson occasionally exaggerates the matter (if only out of concern). But I think we do agree that drugs are indeed tricky business.

  • Agreed!

  • This made me cry. It really made me cry.

  • Aww...I'm sorry. It made me cry while making it, but I think that was the desired effect. Drugs are serious business and Watson wanted to save Holmes from the destruction of cocaine.

  • Very good!

  • Thanks so much!
