  • i didnt disagree with you untill my 23 year old girlfriend got cancer

  • I actually spent my time dipping snuff in math class. Or where ever i happened to be at the time.

  • down in houston in 1979 at waltrip high school we had a smoking area on campus where we could smoke and not get in trouble. man i miss the old days!!!

  • Im 17 and spent most of my time at school smoking in the toilets. They said it was a £250 fine but I got caught quite allot of times and never got fined but in the end they just gave up and let us all smoke outside the school gates.

  • who gives a shit about the rules? break 'em!

  • we did smoke in the 70's as teens without any trouble so to speak lol

  • just can't beat the orignal

  • Motley Crue did a great cover of this song but the original brownsville station version will always be the best in my opinion \m/ ^_^ \m/

  • King of the Hill

  • @crysjumar1 exactly

  • Im a freshman in highschool im going to dip class with my buddy jeckle and fatboy then take a few tokes from a phatty and light a stogie up and smoke up the boysroom. Hell i want that fat bastards kirk to catch me ill just kindly ask you wanna drag its a marb.

  • It sure made school so much better. My little one hitter hell yeah. And I got straight A's. Ty Maryjane

  • Never heard the song til Crüe made it popular. Gotta say you can't beat the original. I and some folks actually started a riot over the school's plan to take away our designated smoking area (yes, such things once existed). There were fires, cops in full riot gear, the works. Only reason I wasn't punished was I made it over the wall before the cops cornered us. Still got popped for truancy, but no one said delinquency was easy.

  • I can remember the days--back in the '70s--when teenage boys and girls could smoke on the school buses. I can also remember attending high school a few years later in the 1980s, and going into the boys' toilet and finding a joint roach in one of the sinks, a capsule on the floor, and pieces of magic mushroom aside the toilet in one of the stalls. Are high schools still like that?

  • Excellent track! Brings back some crystal clear memories!

Congradulations ,dude! I don't know how you did it...0 dislikes! That's a rare feat for a youtube video...but a fitting song for it!

A big thumbs up from me!

  • were singin this song we went to the girls bathroom at high school, for a smoke, we always had a some body at the door, watchin in a case a teacher came a long

  • a wee jem from a brilliant soundtrack..

  • i'm straight edge, but even i would fight for student rights to smoke. teachers can suck it, smoke em if you got em

  • so much better than the wannabe rock band, motley crue, and yet the "classic" rock stations always play the cover. btw, motley crue did nothing to it but copy brownsville station.

  • @oscarmacaroni they did it as a tribute thats what most covers are

to show that the band appreciates their music

  • Always liked Motley Crue, but they should have left this one alone. Nothing ever beats the original.

  • I had this one wrong too, thought it was Thin Lizzy that did this (They did Boys are Back in Town), but it's a group I've never heard of--or don't remember! Took a ton of work to find the original too since Motley Crue has a version that comes up whole search page. Classic rock goodness for a late breakfast :)

  • To the people that think the Crue version is better, you definitely weren't around in the day.

  • teacher walked in and caught us. We were in it now we thought. He looks at us and said no more gentlemen. By the way, got a spare? rothfl

  • it's song like this that make me wish i were a teenager in the 70s..i envy my dad sometimes -> class of 76, had a trans am, saw elvis in the astrodome, saw roger clemens pitch for the university of texas, saw queen, journey, loverboy, elton john, pat travers, zz top, etc etc..

  • smoking in the boys room love it

  • Comment removed

  • 0 dislikes - as it should be!

  • I like this version the best...I don't smoke either..but what an awesome song!

  • Great stuff ! I bought the album back in the day ...band .fronted by .Alice Cooper

  • I absolutely love this song. Just my opinion, but I say Motley Crue's version gives it a bit of a more badass feel to it. BUT it would be a hell of a lot better if Nikki Sixx were freakin able to play the original bassline by Mike Lutz here. My band and I do the Motley Crue version but I play the actual blues bassline (and people love it!).

  • im 14 and ive been busted twice for smoking out the front of the school out of view of most of the teachers i dont get what the big deal is i get in soo much trouble for it i wish i could do it in the boys room lol

  • Getting high in the boy's room.

  • WHOA!!! THIS SONG WAS POSTED THE DAY I OPENED MY YOUTUBE ACCOUNT!!! COOL!!!

  • NOW THIS SONG ROCKS!!! THOUGH I DIDN'T SMOKE IN HIGH SCHOOL, I CAN STILL RELATE TO THIS SONG!!!

  • I graduated in 74 and we were aloud to smoke between classes and befor scholl outside the building

  • finally found the true version

  • Im here because KING OF HILL

  • In our senior locker bay all the air ducts are filled with cigarette smoke from the restrooms. Oooh it's gonna be fun next year once they finish putting in the smoke detectors for the A/C.

  • Try to match this Rock with today's bullshit...

  • @er6789er Are You Kidding? That's like comparing Ice Cream with Peas & Carrots!!! "Smokin' In The Boy's Room" IS Rock!!! The way it was meant to sound! Today's music? I mean, come on now! Does it really deserve to be called ROCK? HELL NO!!! I call it SHIT!! I mean, who gives a FLYIN' FUCK about Lady KaKa, or Justin Beaver, or any other "groups" I can't stand?

KEEP THE SPIRIT OF CLASSIC ROCK AND REAL HEAVY METAL ALIVE!!!

  • Dude!!! I haven't heard this song in years!!! This song Rocks!!!

  • Awesome song! I think these guys were better live.

  • i like this original better than motley crew

  • I still smoke in the boys room. SUre, if I get caught, I get slapped with a $400 fine, but screw that!

  • @nmatavka even though im a non-smoker i agree dude everyone should have the same old freedom people had back in the old days even though im 19 lol

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 We think alike my friend ;) I am 19 too.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 Should we non smokers not have the freedom to NOT inhale a strangers second hand smoke?

  • @nmatavka that's harsh....i only got suspended for 2 days

  • I like this version better its slower like your taking a longg dragg + that raspy voice is badass.

  • @GyozaBunn me too

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 yeah i like both versions but some how after motleys i always find my way back here lol

  • @UnitedStatesRocker: Back in the 60' and 70's cigarettes were sold in grocery stores, BUT, they were also sold for 25 cents in VENDING MACHINES. That's how we used to buy them. There was a set of vending machines outside the bowling alley, and we would ride our bikes to that part of town, and everybody would get their quarter out and buy whatever brand they wanted. How crazy, huh?!!! Most of us bought Kool or Marlboro Menthol, I do remember that. American Pie was the big hit song back then.

  • There was no punishment back then at our school; our school population was only 1500 students though - small school. The teachers just used the restroom and walked out like nothin' had happened. So many people smoked in the restroom during the break between classes that nobody thought anything of it. Those days are long gone.....

  • @sweptangel7 You so lucky i was born in 1992 and i problaby one of the few people that likes REAL MUSIC and REAL CULTURE since there is so many trash culture that them lunatics call (c)rap music and shit hop music. ROCK N ROLL IS THE LAW!!!!!!!!!

p.s. thanks for the comment there dude

  • @sweptangel7 btw just curious is it true that back in the 60s or 70s teenagers were allowed to smoke?

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 Are you KIDDING?? Forget smoking in the restrooms; we had several authorized outdoor smoking areas at our school back in the 70's. They'd bust you if you smoked inside though. We had the woods across the street for joints. Hell, when I was a Senior in '77 I used to use the hall pass to run up to 7-11 to get a pack of smokes for my Spanish teacher.. Schools today suck as bad as the music does. Still have this tune on .45 from when it came out originally. Great upload.

  • @CYBERVISIONSdotCom Huh! Same at my school. In '77 I was a sophmore. Three designated smoking areas and still a girl in my grade and her friends insisted on smoking in the girls lav and would wind up getting detention for it. They did it there because they liked to, at least that's what she claims.

  • @liquidgee13 More likely she did it because she was too stuck up to actually smoke with the others outside (had to protect images even in our day), and had some minor rebellious streak. We had a few like that as well. Hell, these days doing something like that will get you either suspended, expelled, or labeled a school terrorist.

  • @CYBERVISIONSdotCom As she never came across as stuck up, at least not in the snobby sense (if anything she was stuck up in an anti-stuck up way) it was more of a rebellious streak and not a minor one either. I actually liked her but never asked her out as I had a rep for being clean cut and I don't think she would've gone out with me because of that.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 No it is not true. Screw the fine, it was the vice principals fist in your face that was a bother.

  • @cchspaul69 I never worried about our vice principal; I told him my grandparents were Sicilian (which they were). Strangely, he never bothered me after that.....

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 we had a "smoking line" at our high school that i attended from 89-91; it was just a few feet from the building, as if that was keeping any second hand away. It was literally a painted yellow line. Plus everyone smoked inside anyway. Even underage students were OK; if you smoked, you smoked.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 1500+ students to boot

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 1980 we had a smoking area outside and the teachers would join us for a cig between classes. Smoking pot you had to be a bit more discreet, but the punishment was to lose your weed. lol This was in Brooklyn Park Minnesota

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 We used to sit out under the tree's right in front of the office, 1500 is big, we barely broke 500. LOL. But nobody said anything. I used to run to the store for my folks and buy their smokes 35 cents a pack. Opp givin away my age. Boys room smokin was usually more then cigs then too. Hahaha.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 yeah like he said no one thought anything of it there was nothing wrong with it back then it wasnt deemed as a "bad" thing.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 my dad says that there was a smoking lounge for the kids and he went to school in the 80s.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 Shit, we had a pit in high school and that was the 80's. We smoked in the bathroom like chimneys. One time, at Wissahickon high school, I-Hall bathroom, teacher walked in and there were about twenty of us in there smoking. All he could do was throw all of us out. Too many of us to drag to the principle!

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66 In the 70's we were permitted to smoke cigaretttes in the school cafeteria. Eventually, they put a stop to that and smoking was only allowed in the teacher's lounge.

  • @UnitedStatesRocker66

i went to school in the 80's and 90's and kids were still doin it then... by the time i was a senior (90/91) you could do it in the far parking lot IF you were 18...yet the teachers at that time were still allowed to do it inside in the teacher's lounge.

  • @sweptangel7 that's small?!?!?! our school only HAS yes HAS 200 something kids

  • @sweptangel7 1500 students is small?! My school has like ninety people

  • @sweptangel7 Same here, small school probably the same in numbers. It was sooo bad every hour, the smoke that poured out of the bathrooms was insane! I felt sorry for the gooody goods!!

  • i rember when i was in school and getting caught smokeing in the boys and getting written up for it and detetion but it didn't stop me. or any of my other class mates for that matter. good times to rember

  • @angelo062367 you lucky thing ... only getting detention ! If one was caught smoking at elgin high... it would be a automatic three days out of school suspension

  • smokins bad 4 u, duh we all know that, but this song is EPICCCCCC

  • I remember smoking in the girls smoking bathroom at school. You had to have permission from your parents, but other than that, nobody said a word. The 70s were sure different from today. Love this song.

  • With all due respect to Motley Crue..who are also faves of mine....THIS one is the BE-ALL END-ALL! The BEST!!

By the way, does anyone have their 1st (albeit not as massive) hit : "LET YOUR YEAH BE YEAH, AND YOUR NO BE NO"?

    Ennyroad, thanx fer this, m8..

  • I remember back in the day when the restrooms in the high school were filled with people catchin' a smoke between classes; that was back in the early 70's. Teachers walked into the restrooms to go to the bathroom, and didn't bat an eye to see so many girls standing around smoking. This song is was perfect for the era in which it was written and recorded!

  • @sweptangel7 i agree damn i miss the old days even though i was born in 1992 because all new music sucks .0ld music such as classic rock, heavy metal and etc now those are real music and real talented people

  • @sweptangel7 what as the punishment for getting caught smoking in the girls room?

At elgin high it was three days out of school suspension

  • good ole rock n roll....fkn orgasmic !

  • @TheEaglesforever yeah i miss the good old rock n roll and the good old folk music dude

  • lol my mom said to me once this song reminds her of me >=)

I'm sure its probably not for smoking in the boys room. I mean we um... didn't find out how to break the smoke detectors. =3

  • @rusticwiles0 lol

  • @rusticwiles0 break a smoke detector? have someone take it down.. remove the battery

  • my favorite version!

  • My mom likes this version but I like Motley Crues version better. Either way it kicks ass.

  • @gasmaskinfidel thanks

  • @gasmaskinfidel No offense. I like Motley Crue, and I like their version, but this version is way better.

Sorry, I'm 49 so I was 12 when this version came out.

  • @gasmaskinfidel I am sorry dude this to me is darker than motleys but theres is still cool!

  • @IMaiden23 I agree. Brownsvilles version is darker. But im a rivethead that likes 80 glam metal. I know its a guilty pleasure but there was alot of great music that came out of the 80's. I still enjoy the classics but I am stuck in the 80"s.

  • @gasmaskinfidel i am too so ik what u mean

  • low down dirty and bluesy Now this is rock n' roll!!!!! :-)

  • Smoking??!!

  • They need to bring back the public smoking areas in school...

  • @Mennismervice i know thank god im out of school sneakin around and trying to hide was actually hard seems how this was just a few years ago

  • @Mennismervice they need to bring back public smoking period.

  • "How ya doin' out there?". Great track! A classic! Blows Crue's overblown version out of the water. Simple garage band Rock and Roll. That's all it takes. That's all you need.
