  • thank you very much

  • Splendid! I have truly enjoyed watching this.

  • Thank you very very much! I recieved great enjoying to see this awesome movie!

  • The way Mr. Elton says, "For richer or poorer" at Harriet's wedding is just too funny. This is a great movie and a great book.

  • one of the best and truest romances ever. that ist TRUE love if something like that exists!

  • Knightley, Wentworth, Darcy, Bertrum, Thornton or Tilney.... To many to choose from !!!!

  • @orangejuice525 can u tell what all are those other characters story from exept knightley and darcy XD

  • Wow amazing production.... very well done!! I liked Paltrow's version but I LOVED this one... my heart literaly melted in every step of the way.

I was delighted by every little detail shown (something that a 2 hrs movie can't give), every emotion, and the cast was superb.....

P.S: I still think that Mr. Churchill is a jerk for acting like that in front of everyone but we have to admit that this behavior was the one that openned Mr. Knightly's eyes.. OH, WELL!!

    Thanks for posting!!

  • Thanks for posting! This is definitely the best "Emma" I've seen. :)

  • GOD!!! It´s so difficult to decide Mr. Darcy, Frederick Wentworth, Mr. Tylney or Mr. Knightley...

Aaaaahhh so difficult LOVE THEM ALL!!!

  • "I would do far more without a second thought"... My heart has just melted.

  • ...they should have kissed one more time... :)

  • hahaha mr elton:D how he says "poor" :D

  • how beautiful was that. :D

  • that was excellent!

  • best version

  • Poor Mr. Woodhouse hahaha

  • I love the scene between Emma and her father- you can see the true affection they have for one another. :')

  • -When is the wedding?

    -my father hopes never

I love this version... funny, amazing shots and locations, great understanding and adaptation of the characters...

  • "My father hopes never" hahahaha

  • that was excellent! thanks for the upload!

  • Well done!

  • so they are off to some mystery honeymoon while I get to protect the chickens...lol

  • I just realized: John Knightly married Isabella Woodhouse; and George Knightly married Emma; SOO now everyones brothers and sisters now!! And Mr. Woodhouse has 2 sons now!! :)

  • isn't that the guy from the film 'hackers'?

  • @skatetennis123 yes he is... somehow I think he looks shorter but as handsome as then

  • Thank you for uploading this. Nothing beats a BBC adaptation of a Jane Austen novel. I loved this so much i stayed up till 4am!!! Well at least I'll go to bed with a smile and probably dream of finding my own Mr Knightley.

  • AWWW!! Mr. Knightly and Captain Wentworth are tied for my favorite Austin men!! Now as far Mr. Knightlys I cant figure out my favorite; Northam or Miller (did like him as Edward)!! As a Emma; beauty goes to Gwyneth; but Ramola is pretty; and they BOTH did a good job as far acting! I shall say this is probably my favorite redition!

  • whos gwyneth? I think she has her own beautyful elements=)

  • ..This make me wish I lived in the 1800s. Everyone is so elegant and classy.

  • I don't know about Gwyneth Paltrow being much prettier than Romola. She is much more sophisticated looking though. She looks extra beautiful in period pieces. However, I think Romola is very pretty in her own right.

  • @SuperSoulSeeker yeah Ramola is much more radiant and funny and has a clear English look about her... I prefer this version of Jane Austens's Emma...simply the best...

  • Oh John, Oh George, Oh John, Oh george....

    MY MIND IS SPLIT.

  • "Marvelous. So they're off on a mystery honeymoon,.....while i get to protect the chickens". LMAO!

  • @sputnikmeatloaf John is Funny there!!

  • amazing!!! "cat4fab" thanks soooooooo much for uploading!!

  • I just love it!!! Hello from México :-)

  • I think this Mr.Knightly was awesome but I don't think Emma was very pretty. Emma was better as Gwyneth Paltrow.

  • @TheStarfieldFan I can't believe you said that. Romola is absolutely perfect for the part...she is beautiful and incredibly talented, the way I've always imagined Emma to be.

  • @jessinhaof Yes I totally think that she did an awesome job acting. I definitively agree with you there! but I just don't think she's as pretty as Gwyneth Paltrow. Just saying

  • @TheStarfieldFan Really? I thought Romola Garai did an excellent job. Even when paired up with Michael Gambon she came off strong. Maybe she's not as glamorous as Gwyneth Paltrow, but I think where performance is concerned she definitely held her own.

  • @HoneyDukesKid without a doubt you are right about her acting. She did a great job! I'm just saying that I don't find her as pretty as Gwyneth Paltrow.

  • @TheStarfieldFan Oh! Well, to each his own, I guess.

  • This is far better than the one with Kate Beckinsale. And as for the one with Gwyneth Paltrow, hers comes in second. This one is absolutely delightful, that I keep watching it over and over again. It has the perfect Mr Knightley and perfect Emma. The story is superior to the other two.

  • "I examined my own heart. And there you were; never, I fear, to be removed."

  • I am on a Jane Austen/BBC mini series and movies kick. Jumped straight from watching Mansfield Park (2007) to Emma. Found it really hard to imagine Edmund (the main guy) from Mansfield Park as the rather annoying Mr. Elton in this.

    PS: Knightly is so dreamy.

  • @Bisma12 I'm on the same spree LOL. Something about the English accent that puts me in the Christmas spirit. (Yea, I know, it's a dumb Canadian comment but it's true haha)

  • Is Emma 16? if so, she is just a year older than Lydia Bennett! how different they are, this is amazing. But now I see better why Anne Elliot from Persuasion was said to have no chances for marriage at 27

  • @maureenMJennings Emma is 21.

  • oooh what is it about the cello and romantic jane austin movies that speak so well to the heart? *melting

  • I love the scene between Emma and her father....so cute!

  • Mr Woodhouse should marry to Mrs Bates.............ha ha

  • I want a sparta remix of "mhhmmmm... yes... now."

  • done watching it for 3 times and the number is still going for more, but i do wonder that how many men watch this series

    ?

  • The perfect love: free of immoral corruption.

  • 4:28 the look on Mr. Elton's face...priceless

  • Awwwwww! that's so cute they are matching! Emma & Mr.Knightley are wearing green coats and Jane & Frank are wearing blue coats! Not sure if they did that on purpose or if it was a cute coincidence!

  • Why can't my life be a Jane Austen novel?????????

  • @huglover103 For real.

  • @huglover103 I agree; I wish u could find a man like Mr. Knightly or even Captain Wentworth.

  • @huglover103 Well, kinda it can be if you want so: This story teaches us to open our eyes to all those wonderful people we a surrounded and to be thankful. And what comes to men, there are 3.5 billion individuals here around. It always warms me up to think how many good ones here must be among us...

  • lol his look of momentary shock after she storms out...hilarious

  • * hand on chest .. tears in eyes* "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

  • I could listen to him say, "Mmmm yes, now" ALL DAY LONG!! **drool**

  • The way Romola delivers the line, "And there you were" is just magical. She's so wonderful. Actually, they both are. JLM is so brilliant!

  • Ohhhh I love this , but Frank's an ass..

  • this is my favorite version of a movie version of emma thanks for posting

  • "You know I love you! Ans I always will. But we can never marry!... That's all."

    Bahahahahaha best part

  • @Worldflyaway You saw that coming; if you've read the book you knew it was coming!!

  • Now she is definately a mistress of two domains. What is Knightley going to do now?

  • The English version of these stories are so awesome!

  • great series!! :) Loved all the performances.

  • i love men in knee high boots, top hats, and long coats!!! wish they were still like this!

  • "When's the wedding?"

    "My father hopes never."

    ....LOVE this!!

  • I do believe Mr. Knightley has surpassed Mr. Darcy in my adoration. George Knightley forever!

  • @liveflying90 i love them both! :3

  • just great !!!

  • Emma must be a good actress because she bugged the HELL out of me this whole show!!

  • haha that's hilarious..elton marriying harriet and mr martin lol

  • BEST.VERSION.EVER. <3

  • "But I think you won't like it" 4:17

    SO HOT!!!!!!

  • love it when he puts his hand into hers!

  • love the way Knightly hesitates and then runs after her!

  • I love Emma's father. The only fault he has is not letting people eat cake. What a kind father :)

  • @nnnatfilko May I ask you how old you are to love a man of that age?? hi hiiii

  • @MegaBukker I do belive she was refering to being a great admirer of him =_=

  • coolerz

  • thats the best surprise honeymoon ever to be given from Mr.Knightley to Emma

    love it <3

  • "for richer...for poorer" lol Mr.Elton

  • I love the love emmas father shows toward her. It's so fatherly and caring!!!

  • "What...now?"

    "Mmm...now."

Mmm is right! Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller are perfectly cast. Loved every minute of it :)

  • Uhm, i cant Stand this version, lol I dont find any chemistry between these two..

  • this is the BEST EMMA version EVEEERRR.......both characters look the part and the acting is so natural.......HUGE LOVE......ps....mr knightly is soooo cute....keke

  • The ONLY problem I have with this entire adaptation is Mr. Knightley's face when they're at the sea, totally indifferent compared to Emma's beaming smiles. Anyways, such an awesome film/series! Thanks so much for posting!!

  • Classic Jane Austen...EVERYONE must be married and happy :-)

  • Best adaptation... a very believable Emma!

  • So beautiful. I want to cry every time a Jane Austin movie ends...i get so happy for them.... just gorgeous. : D Thank you so much for putting this up. Defiantly buying this movie! My favorite yet!

  • thanx cat4fab 4 this ab-fab uploading!as long as it lasts,at least...

  • BRAVO AND ENCORE!EXCEPTIONALLY WELL DONE BBC!

  • i greatly dislike mr and mrs elton.they well deserve each other

  • @wsa18 actually I really feel sorry for Mr.Elton. He loved Emma too. Well Emma can't marry more than one person. But I wish if he found someone better than present Mrs. Elton, some one who he can really love as he loved Emma.

  • @MegaBukker

ok now i have to either see or read the book again. need to see if i made my conclusion to hasty

  • i was a little dissapointed not to see emmas wedding-or her dress....

  • @6352Sunny Ha haaa,, well I was a lot dissapointed not to see their honeymoon!!!!

  • I almost prefer Isabella and John to Emma and Mr. Knightley...is that naughty of me?! I just can't get over Isabella's cute giggling and John's little sarcastic winks and smirks...hahaha and of course the chickens

  • I'd gladly welcome John Knightley to my house...you know, to, er, guard the chickens...

  • amazing!

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION OF EMMA ROMOLA PLAYS EMMA SO WELL

  • The chicken part kills me everytime !

  • Oh poor Mr Woodhouse, brace yourself!

  • Mr. Knightley reaching back to grab her hand when they are abou to tell her father is the sweetest little thing EVER. I'm so glad they ended it this way, with her getting to see the sea. So cute.

  • this version of Emma is spectacular!! After watching the version with Gwyneth Paltrow I was very disappointed. But the version has made me fall in love with this story!!

  • Now ain't that special!

  • thanks for uploading this video, very wonderful movie !

  • as a women never marries jane austen knows women taste.she knows perfect men

  • he is so romantic! i love jane austen for making men who know how to love a woman

  • the music is absolutely beautiful

  • Each little hand holding scene between these two throughout the movie is so cute, and pure... no matter what thoughts maybe going through their heads.

  • that was so beautiful :D i squealed

  • If I were an actress playing the lead in one of these period films, and had a wonderful man such as Johnny Lee Miller proclaiming things like, "I would do far more without a second thought" to me, I'm afraid I would be in serious danger of truly falling in love! It's a wonder these women make it through!

  • I want a Mr, Knightley, a Mr. Darcy , and all othres Jane's brilliant mans.

  • @itismary If anyone finds a store where you can find them, tell me!! I'll give you EVERYTHING I have just to get one of them!!! :D

  • @itismary Me too , me too!! I always loved Mr. Darcy. But after reading Emma I think I prefer Mr. Knightley.

  • @itismary a Mr. Thornton would be nice too

  • thank you for this video, i enjoy watching it immensely!

  • emma is so lucky

  • i love johnny lee miller in this. he is wonderful. but then i looked him up and it turns out he was married to angelina jolie back in the day. kinda ruined it for me. well well.

  • There is very good chemistry between the two of them. I could almost believe that Johnny really is attracted to her.

  • This is so beautiful :)) I love it, but I would like to know what they told to her father and also i would like to see their wedding :)))

  • oh, poor mr.woodhouse... ;(

  • and her dad's face 3.48-3.52.. "hello!" to "oh dear"

  • The jump from the tenderness of the beginning of this video and the sudden change at 1.50 NEVER ceases to make me laugh

  • Such a sweet ending :)

  • what a beautiful story :)

  • If anybody saw them holding hands like that, it'd be nothing short of a Highbury scandal!

  • Gosh this movie is so fantastic! From the actors to the music to the set - its all magnificent! Johnny Lee Miller plays Knightley beautifully, as does Romola Garai play Emma wonderfully as well. Bravo BBC! Your versions of Jane Austen books always seem to be best:)

  • Good story, beautiful filming and wonderful acting. What more could you ask.

  • Awesome...

  • I think the part when she bursts in, crying "You know I love you and always shall but we can't marry." is one of the funniest parts in the film because of the following "That's all!" and her expression. Just marvellous! And then, when he proposes telling her father... Romola Garai is a great actress, she express the feelings so great!

  • @Ehliafly I love that whole scene, always makes me laugh. Especially at how shocked she is when Knightley says he'd move in with her!

  • I know it's a very serios part, but I couldn't help laugh when emma bursts in "You know I love you and always shall but we can't marry." Did any one else find it funny?

  • @pandagirl4jesus I laughed out, too. :D a comic contrapoint to the absolutely wonderful love scene.

" I examined my heart. And there were you... never, I fear, to be removed." <3

  • @pandagirl4jesus I'm not sure if it's her outburst, or knightly's face that's more funny though.

  • @pandagirl4jesus I know she's so dramatic hahaha reminds me of myself lol

  • @pandagirl4jesus That must have been soooo weird to film!! Having to burst in crying ten times!

  • @pandagirl4jesus yes hahaha i was laughing too :D

  • @pandagirl4jesus U r right. They've done the episodes so well, but there were some funny parts, let's not laugh at them, sure all of us enjoyed the story. Nywy nothing can be perfect right??

  • thank you for this!!!!i am a huuuuuuuuge fan of Austen and this cast was superb!!!M.Gambon one of my favourite actors, R.Garai and J.L.Miller simply marvelous and as for B.Ritson, i adore him......so , once again many thanks.....

  • Did anyone else find it wonderful that Jonny Lee Miller played Edmund Bertram in the 1999 film of Mansfield Park, and that Blake Ritson played the same character in the 2007 film, and that in this portrayal of Austen's Emma, Jonny Lee Miller plays the magnificent Mr. Knightly while Blake Riston played Mr Elton? It paralleled so perfectly with them as Edmund Bertram, and not because Blake Ritson was bad as Edmund but simply because Jonny Lee Miller is just so perfect as a hero of Austen's works!

  • i absolutely love the father daughter relationship, it's soooo beautiful!

  • The music that's playing when she sees the sea is the music they danced to *squeal*

  • It's so wonderful violin music in the crucial moments of the film...

  • Knee-high boots and coattails make men look 10 times better than normal :)

  • this ending is only second to the end of sense and sensibility (the eema thompson adaption), i mean when me and my friends watched and we saw marianne and colonel brandon walk out you cannot believe how happy we were, we were cheering and everything, we spent the whole movie rooting for it and finally it happened, just like in any other of the best austen stories

  • bravo.

  • Even though I think that this edition is the better one and I like it's interpretation of the book. I have to criticize because the book tells you that Mr. Knightly is much older than Emma but I would not have known if I had not read it.

  • @live4icecreamu2 It was mentioned in episode 1 & 2. First when they were arguing about Harriet, Emma said, ".. you are 16 years more experienced". Then on Episode 2 when she's holding the baby, he said, "I was your considerable superior in years when you were the age of baby Emma here"

  • @boya307 yeah but still, he LOOKS young and thats the point. Try the version with doran godwin ♥♥♥

  • the ending makes me smile all the time :D

  • ENGLAND

  • when he points out the window and Emma says the seaside I cry everytime.
