Did she just wake up one day, pop on "No Scrubs" and think, hey,you know this song was co-opted for a male perspective, what if I did a similarly stupid thing and did that with "My Girls," except it'll be about My Boys hahahaha! I'm brilliant! I am a worse person for having heard this.

@greenbayandtottenham the part "adobe flats" refers to two different things. Apartments are also known as flats (In other English-influenced countries like the UK). Adobe is a building material made by indigenous people that consists of mud, clay, and stuff like hay. So it comes together as an apartment made of mud bricks.

the instrumentation is very agreeable and the over all tone of the song has produced a nice, clean, repaired feeling in my chest. and the combination of the symmetrical but still organic rhythm of the drums with the playful overtone of the plucking strings is very breakthrough. and i appreciate how the melody is held artistically and how it's coupled politely with the intellectual feel of the synth. the remake of this song was obviously a poetic concept that was translated into non-verbal form

Please don't hate me, but I really..... really..... dislike this version. It is very pretty, the singing is nice, but it changes the mood of the song too much. It's supposed to be a dance song and it's not ecstatic enough. It's so humdrum. In the AC version it's like this wonderful exclamation to the world. Idk, just my opinion.

TbT just happen to reinterpret this song as a breezy saturday afternoon tune, rather than a dance song.
