Lovely, We are heading unto Tromso end of March this year (2012). I have just spent a small fortune getting my 5D MII and other kit for this trip. I like the time lapse option, I hope this interval time lapse machine is not too expensive.

Dear Alister, I was in Tromsø seeing the lights in february 2011 for the first time. going back again next month (feb 2012) to try for some better results (also with 2 5DMkII´s). May I ask what shutter speed and ISO settings you used? Maybe see you there ;o)
