  • Can I ask something and someone please reply me? To all scratch builders, when you paint your plane, it can get scratched off pretty easily right? Even with your nails.. and peeled off with tape... Does anyone know how to avoid that problem? Thanks...

  • thank u bro.. ill be getting this motor.. today.. thanks for verifying its a good one..

  • 5+!!!

  • nice vid sweet plane loved the music to it thanks for sharing!!!

  • nice build and flight. i envy people with talent you have. the only thing i did like was the music. everything else was great. you fly like how i like to fly. cool.

  • nice job. this is the flying speed i like - predictable

  • Hi Jim,

Thanks for the plans some time ago, this little plane flies great. Emax 2822, 12 amp TP esc and a 8x4E TP apc style prop with a 3 cell lipo. What happened to the orignal video with the blues bros? I liked that video much better as I am not into heavy metal. If you have it posted on another site please let me know.

  • ooh i have a small problem. derpron is a little too pricey for me... is Blue Core suitable to use?

  • Bluecore will work just fine. Or EPP with the proper reinforcement.

  • @FangarJim Or use Foam Board from Doller Tree

  • The best stuff i have found that is easest to work with is "acid free" foam board. its a bit more expensive then regualr foam board Wall Mart has Elmers acid free 2 sheets for $8.

Its good because it cuts like butter, you want your plane to look good yes but if you want it to fly your wing cuts have to be spot on, and regular foamboard works great but it is just a pain a pain in the as- to cut.

Also I found that the color foamboard is only colored on one side major pss me off!

  • Wall mart foam baord will do just fine

  • how much did this cost?

    parts i mean

  • Parts... around 150 bucks or so without Radio.

  • thanks

    i better start saving

  • @FangarJim $150? bucks?????

  • @ecookman I was able to do it for about 50 bucks. After your first build you can reuse parts such as the motor and things like that. The material I use for building is $1 foam that I got from the dollar store.

  • @PokeFan91197

lol that post was a year ago, but yeah I have 2 planes currently that are functional and when I get bored of them, I gut them for parts and make another one for about 20 bucks, gotta love foam.

  • man you could make A LOT selling these with everything reciever ready. or just with all the parts(except radio) included but not assembled

  • looks speedy

  • IT is. I am working on a new version with ailerons as well.

  • to get rid of that slop a little in the wings stick in a gyro

  • Unfortunately, A gyro on this plane would not work out. There are only two surfaces that control elevator and aileron function from the same two servos. Thanks for watching.

  • @FangarJim I fly mine with 2 gyros. The trick if you wanna use a gyro is to have the taileron mixing done after the gyro. So the setup would be a receiver gyro on elevator and one on aileron, then output the both to a vtail mixer on the plane ...and then to the servos. Mine has amazing stability in high alpha and more than the plane flies so smooth that i can now do more with the plane than i ever did before. Great build though. Looking nice. Add simple vector thrusting and its platinum.

  • Nice looking plane Jim! I absolutely love foamies! Easy to build and cheap to fly. I do have a question though. Have you tried a 6x4 prop on it or have you been happy with the 8x4?

  • Thanks for watching. I ended up with the 8x4 after trying quite a few different combos. It seemed to work the best as far as thrust goes. I am working on another version now with ailerons as well as the elevons that will require me to prop down to a 7 inch. Likely a 7x4e. I don't recall how the 6" did only that the 8 was better for my tastes. Cheers! ~ James

  • great video man. i am in the process of building one. all i need is more money. thanks for your help!

  • What is the approximate flight time with this setup?

  • With the 3s pack I am running, around 8-10 minutes a charge. Thanks for watching.

  • Hey that plane is awesome!! I plan to make one one day. What is the approximate cost of the plane including everything like transmitter, servos, depron...

    thx

  • Around $400.00 with radio. Cheers ~ James

  • sweet where do u get all the f-22 parts to build it???

  • Nice colours! I looks very pro under your control! I'm just learning to do fast fly-bys. (My plane seems a lot more sensitive when it's at full speed 2-3m from the ground!)

  • clean street!

  • Love the blues bros. sound byte! Your nieghbors must love you flying so close ... you seem to have a handle on the flying, so hopefully you don't take out anyone's birdfeeders ... scratch-built planes rule and I respect that large - good job mang - keep building - I just finished a Mirage 4 a few weeks back - most satisfying plane I've built - but you know that feeling I'm sure

  • Thanks for the nice response. I enjoy this plane quite a bit. I took a look at your Mirage. Sure looks like you did a great job! Keep at it. Cheers ~ James

  • How much is one of those, i wanna buy one!

  • Cool man. Just cool.

  • i want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can anyone tell me where to find the plans for this jet

  • SWEET!!!!! *drool*

  • DANG WHEN YOU DO FULL THROTTLE!

  • That is an awsome build the video is great

would love to get my hands on the plane.

    Cheers TBBW

  • Awesome video, and great plane! Nice job.

  • Awesome vids and builds. I've been wanting to build my own but the plans that are out there arn't as great as yours. I was wondering if you could share your plans? Thanks in advance..

  • Also what battery voltage are you running on this plane? 7.2 or 11.1 v?

  • The pack is a Thunder Power 3s (11.1 Volt) 910 Mah. Cheers.

  • ok, this is the second time that i have watched this video. Could you please tell me how you wired the servos to do both the elevator and the aileron?

  • oh, and, lol, does the wing even have a profile or is it just a flat peice of foam bent upward?

  • The wing is flat 6mm depron. It does not have a profile and it does not bend at all. They plane is fun to fly, but is not one of the easiest. Cheers.

  • Garrett, Thanks for watching. The Elevons are actually controlled through a computer radio. When the right stick is pulled back, they function together as an elevator. When moved right or left, they act as ailerons and separate. With angled movements of the stick, they move in unison to act as elevator and ailerons (Elevons). Impossible to do without a modern radio. Cheers.

  • I've watched a lot of airshows. You're outstanding both with fixed wing and helicopters. I commend you!

  • Thanks very much for the kind words! I appreciate the comments. I have been flying for a long time... Fortunately, most of my mistakes don't get posted here! =). Cheers.

  • have your hands ever been hit by that prop it seemed pretty close to your hand when you were handlaunching.

    Nice vid and great F22

  • That has been a thought. Fortunately, I have never been bitten by it. Definitely something to keep in mind though. I usually launch it by releasing the tail as I throttle up instead. Thanks for watching!

  • DUDE! ive watched alot of ur vids and ur vids are awesome! i cant pick which one i like best. another five star!! cheers. lol

  • What is it made out of? I would like to make one.

  • Scratch Built Depron Foam. Cheers.

  • yeah! great video! good music and great flying!!! And the landing was just perfect! 5 stars. I am doing a delta wing and I hope it will fly (at least).

  • Thanks for the kind words. Be sure to post up a video or two when you get it done. Have fun!

  • thanks, I will!

  • sweet is ant the hobbie great i love it do you have the plans

  • Fantastic! I cannot wait to finish mine. Super job on the Raptor and great flying. 5 Stars.

  • Thanks Eric. I will reply to your email when I get some time. Cheers.

  • muy bueno

    very good

    saludos

  • Gracias. Creo que esta ultima. Este motor es mejor que todo! Y con esta combinación, el avión volará con gran estabilidad. Buenos Suerte.
