  • 11. There are catch phrases but I don’t know whether to say if they are British or not, have no clue were they originated from. But a phrase that does get used a lot is want a cuppa.

    12. Football is the correct term for the sport, not soccer. I don’t know what American football is but it looks a lot like rugby.

    13. Underground punk music, what the hell is that.

    14. Of corse I have a pair of knickers, what the hell do you call women’s underwear.

    15. Yes fish and chips are bloody amazing!

  • 7. We don’t get taught on the American Revolution, why would we learn about the history of America rather than of our own.

    8. No one gives a crap about the 4th of July

    9. Yes it is quite annoying, but take it as a compliment that you’re following us.

    10. No one says righto or cherio.

  • 1. Yes

    2. If your referring to a cup of tea, no there is no specific time to drink tea. If your referring to food yes its dinner.

    3. It’s a drink, if you like it drink it.

    4. Ice tea’s great just not as great as the usual cuppa

    5. I drink tea and I eat crumpets, usually for breakfast, sometimes together.

    6. If you don’t know what a crumpet it go and try one, but spread the butter when its hot so it melts into it you’ll love it!

  • UK GMT = 00:00. east coast (New York is 5 hours behind) so i think Texas is central? so its about 6/7hours behind the UK.

American shows we get on Freeview (standard tv package)- MTV maybe? As for sky tv which most Brits have- we have CNN and other news channels, ESPN and sometimes fox sports is shown on sky sports (american football) history channel if thats american? cant think of many atm but we must have quite a few but hardly any on freeview.

  • England is it's own country outright. Britain is a combination of Wales, England and Scotland (all countries on the mainland, except some Scottish prick called Salmond wants to break Scotland away). The United Kingdom is a combination of the countries in Britain and the country of Northern Ireland. Ireland is a country in its own right due to many issues. The broadest of which is that they are Catholics and the UK is mainly Protestant.

Just here for any north Americans that are still confused!

  • Enland is a country, Britain is the main island consisting of 3 countries: Wales, Scotland And Enland. UK is short for the United Kingdom od Great Britain and Northern Island. It's really irirtaing when people think that all British people are English. It's like mixing up Canada and America :(

  • @02ladydamned So what is Britain if it consists of 3 countries? Is Britain still a country even though it has 3 countries in it? What do I call Britain? I am confused.

  • @TearsOfWar1 It's four countries: Britain is a group of countries, same as the UK. It's kind of like America on;y subsitute 'country' for 'state'. It's similar to the America in that there is a main government which sets laws for the UK, but each county has it's own 'mini-government' which can set different policies. It's offensive if people don't think of us as different countries as our cultures and heritages are so diverse, and we're all proud of that :)

  • @TearsOfWar1 well it's a country made from other countries. Yeah, it's a kindom, but just call it a country made from other countries. Don't forget this was made like hundreds of years ago when things were just organised chaos. :)

  • WHAT A FUCKING MUG

  • 1) Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain, instead thou shall use the phrase 'bloody hell'.

    2) Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, unless he is a Frenchman, or one of those miserable German bastards.

  • 3) Thou shalt pass thy time by the consumption of fermented vegetable drinks at thy local public house.

    4) Thou shalt converse with thy neighbour about the weather at every passing of the sun.

    5) Thou shalt consume much beer, for it is the Lord's chosen drink.

    6) Thou shalt not push in front of thy neighbour whilst queueing.

  • 7) Thou shalt chant "2 world wars, 1 world cup" unto thy German neighbours at every football match.

    8) Thou shalt complain at every opportunity, and thou shalt scribe a strongly worded letter if thou deems it necessary.

    9) Thou shalt not learn the tongue of thy foreign neighbour, instead thou shalt speak unto them in thy native tongue with much gusto.

    10) Thou shalt create thy own sense of humour, and thou shalt protect it from thy American neighbours.

  • We didn't get taught much about the American revolution. I wish we had though, it seems really interesting. I'd like to look up the American Civil War too.

lol crumpets are weird things but they don't go well with tea. Most people don't eat them that much over here anyway.

  • Iced tea is like teas deformed cousin.. much like American English to English (I joke!) Also, schools don't really teach about America, but we did learn about the slave trade and racism but no - nothing on the revolution. I still don't really know anything about it, but all I do know is that on that day, Americans feel obliged to be racist. Not cool. Brits aren't bitter about it either, I think the days of 'I have to own you!' are over. I actually think it's the complete opposite now. :)

Britain is the name of the island with England, Scotland and Wales. The UK is Britain and Northern Ireland.

CNN and Fox News are available but most US shows are available on the main channels in the UK or on the satellite/freview/cable channels. Also MTV, E and the Discovery channel all have their own UK channels.

Big Ben is the name of the bell inside the clock tower.

  • Teatime nowadays refers to dinnertime

Crumpets are like a bready sort of snack but most people have biscuits(think cookies or crackers) with a cup of tea; Kit Kats, Penguins, Rich Tea, Jaffa Cakes

The American revolution isn't really taught. After the Romans, Middle Ages, Tudors, Victorians and industrial revolution there's only enough time to learn about the two world wars. It's a bigger part of American history than British history.

  • The 4th of July goes by unnoticed, people do know what it is though. Nobody regrets America being independent or cares or has an opinion of that sort.

Australia is still part of the commonwealth like Canada.

British shows get sold all around the world but need to be remade for America because of problems understanding accents and references. It's lucrative though for the show's creators and draws attention to the original.

  • The Beatles are held up alongside William Shakespeare

    "Alright mate!" "Cheers!"

American football is called American football

Can't eat too many fish and chips, only once in a while. Not good for the arteries.

People do make fun of American accents.

    12) we don't have real american football, we have a sport similar to it; Rugby

    13) never heard of it

    15) bloody love it

    16) sometimes, not often

  • A crumpet is a small circular bread which is about 1 inch thick. There are holes on top, and they're usually toasted and eaten with butter at breakfast.

  • you have crumpets for like breakfast or weneva you want ur mum says tea time or teas ready when its ready ( tea = dinner ) adn most people say dinner instead or lunch . theres like at least 5 chippys chinese and indain takeouts in each small town the old generation like my nan says cheerio toodlelooo toodle pip and so on..

  • hey american We dont really get many american tv channels in England. Most people who live in England will go to London and will probably see big ben. No, there is no "tea time".

What the fuck is iced tea? Tea is certainly consumed a lot in England so that steriotype is correct but the crumpet thing is not. A crumpet is a spongy cake which you put in the toaster. undergroun punk? yes we eat fish and chips. We dont learn abou the American revolution. We dont have american football.

  • @lemonzestymen We acually have rugby, that kinda the same right?

  • The thing with Britain/UK/England is:

UK is made up of: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland

Britain is made up of: England Scotland, Wales, but NOT Northern Ireland

The key is not to call us English, you risk seriously offending anyone from Scotland, Wales or NI and sounding ignorant to an Englishman. The best one to use is British or UK, as each of the 4 hate each other: England thinks the other 3 are full of rural yups, they think we're slave drivers.

    Confusing, isn't it?

  • Starting from 1:40 1) I have seen Big Ben 2) Only for my step-grandparents but some younger kids say teatime which is dinner. 3) I do actually drink tea throughout the day because i hate coffee 4) Never drank ice tea, what is it? 5) - 6) I love crumpets! I don't have them with tea though, mostly orange juice 7) Google it 8) Never been taught about the american revolution 9) Nup, just enjoying the sun 10) - 11) British shows are better, fact 12) The beatles are amazing

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION actually the term soccer is british :) it was first used at oxford as a slang for associated football they shortened it associa and then dropped the a and the accent created soccer. it was used in England at the same time as football people would use both. when it came to America they already had football so used soccer exclusively, it is also used in S. America. The british then forgot they started it and said the americans were stupid and stopped using it :)

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION football orginal name is football because the british had an empire they gave football to the empire they called it soccer

  • @bookworm5596 American Revolution= you took away our freedom and slaughtered civilians so we rebeled and gained our independence and created the first modern democracy. That's why we hold a grudge against Britian.

  • 1. I've seen Big Ben up close.
