  • @dtrip09 Those preludes are pretty fast, 190hp in a 2500lb car.. The Lt1 trans ams have 275 and they weigh 3500. It would be a close race, but you'd get him on top end. I have a 450whp LSX trans am, and a 2.0T 95 GTI that I daily.

  • While it is being dynoed as a FWD it may not be. Many places dont have an AWD dyno so he may be AWD but dynoed it as FWD as a last resort because he didnt want to travel as far as it may have taken to dyno the car AWD. It all depends on what you want really. I have had AWD DSMs, 12 sec civic, 300ZX TT.. I liked all of them for their own reasons. My fav car t date is probably my civic I had.. fast and big time sleeper.

Also your 90 Tsi Speed has a turbo, if he turbo'd his GT it would beat you, and yes power to weight ratio is the key, why do you think CRX's are so popular in imports. And most V6's today make 300HP V8's are making 375 and up while I4 are in the 170HP zone. And you can't say a RB25 is heavier, you measuring block weight with or without the turbo's etc.?

  • Ok, look up Brent Rau, Magnus Motorsports here on YouTube. 1000+ HP and thing is so fast, they throw restrictions on it everytime he runs. Fastest 4 cyl and runs 6 second passes in the 1/4. My 1990 Talon was rated at 195hp btw, NOT 170. As you can see, the stock 4g63 block can handle boost. 400hp daily on a stock block and head isn't hard or that expensive. Hell, the stock tranny and axles will give up before the motor does. Plus mod for mod, my Talon would be cheaper and still walk him.

  • Sorry for the delay in response 4g63gen1... I can't list all the cars I would own in my dream garage here, but the short list includes V8's, V6's, I6's, I4's and a few V-rods. I've owned a 454 'Burb, some minis, a few 4 bangers, a few Jeeps, a couple motorcycles, a couple full size trucks and the wife's minivans. Each has a purpose... the 1G Talon was over-built from the factory for one. That's why the 4G63 can be found in the new EVO's. The potential for the motor is crazy... as expensive:)

From a dig, I get 4 lengths easy and he stays the whole way (each carrying 2 people). More then double my displacement and 2 times the cylinders for 15hp more? Oh and "same mods" put out better numbers? I seriously doubt the same 16g turbo will make more HP on a Vanything compared to a 4banger lol. Your "better points" are null and void my friend.
