  • XFT will save you 10-20% of your gas. That's what I do and it works for me and for many other people. Go to my website and try it, you will never regret - vs.goxft.com

  • wasnt cheap thios wednesday. tuesday 2.99..... wednesday 3.15 -.-

  • You car is not a today vehicle..

  • DIESEL

  • Hybrid battery production pollutes the environment more than most gas only cars...

  • @PrinceRufus2 no just no.

  • This is quite possibly the stupidest video in the automotive related field I have ever seen..

  • did you know, driveing at 55 on the freway while everyone else is going 70-75 WILL GET YOU KILLED?

  • step 17 don't buy a hybrid by a diesel like my 206 which averages 75+ mpg 82+ on moterway driving.

  • Really? Never paid attention that gas prices are cheaper on wednesdays. Hmmm...

  • ok.This pisses me off !!!

Fuck all hybrids, how can a hybrid improve your milage when is basically using the a 30% efficiency generator(the engine) to charge batteries? and you also have to carry the batteries and electric motor around!!! WTF??

The toyota prius can do 45 mpg as a diesel VW lupo can do 70 mpg...

  • @superfunny1972 But diesel fuel costs more than petrol, so it doesn't save money.

  • @UnboundLegend The whole point in having a diesel is that the price is lower. For exemple, here in Belgium petrol is about 1.7 euro/l and diesel 1.5 euro/l.Even if diesel would be more expensive it would have to be with 36% more expensive to arrive at the same gas millage (talking about the same exemple lupo vs prius).Fuck hybrids, they are slow dull and just for showing off how good of a person you are...

  • @superfunny1972 Yes, but in the Americas (United States) diesel is $3.99/gallon. You can get petrol for as low as $3.29/gallon. I think it used to be even less than $3. Anyway the VW Lupo is a teeny tiny car! Almost like a Smart fortwo!

  • @UnboundLegend Wow...I had no idea about that...That's possible only in America :D

  • @superfunny1972 Haha!

  • Morris county for the win

  • Step 7: Become a homosexual.

  • 60,000th Viewer

  • :14 why does it matter its free lol 0.00

  • hey i have a 2002 svt focus and didnt let my car warm up like you said and blew my thermostat housing right off the car..... THANKS!!

  • @scottboerner The video did say "Today's Vehicles".

My car is from 1994. I always let it warm. I don't have a choice. (In the winter when it's sub-zero temperature's, that is.)

  • you know. my 1990 camaro 5.7 can drive without warming the engine. but i dont want to waste money buying a new engine for it because of something breaking due to not warming it up

  • Why Wednesdays???

  • @dingdongditch1000 think of it like this. more traveling for the weekends. means the gas companys can say "oh people will be on the road more during the weekends, lets jack up the prices"

and it progressively cost more towards the weekend. i haven't noticed but this is just my theory on that subject

  • the step where it talks about letting your car warm up is not necessary.... that is so much bullshit because the oil is thicker when it is cold so oil is not properly supplied to the valves if you just take off...ugh dumb asses

  • DID YOU SEE THOSE FUCKING GAS PRICES!?!?!?!

  • Or you can just tell us step #7 first.

  • buy a not so old diesel engine put it in your car and drive it on used kitchen oil dammit!

  • weird thing is, my car gets max gas mileage going about 75 mph on the highway. My instantaneous mileage at that speed on a level highway is usually 1-3 mpg higher than at 55-60. My dad says his truck gets a bit better at that speed too.

  • why is gas the cheapest on Wednesdays?

  • @Zeldagigafan90210 Good question. Wednesday is also one of the days of the week people fly the least, so I guess people don't do much on Wednesday, so they can lower the price of gas. More demand=higher prices, less demand=lower prices.

  • @cjracer1000 I think they are just talking about statistics, it has nothing to do with wednesday, if you make a statistic there is always some data the lowest and some other highest, just coinsidence I guess. But you are right when you say that a high demand makes higher prices...

  • @IndustrialBeaver You're right. There could just be no reason why some things are. I guess it all just differs, and it just so happens to be Wednesday, but if everyone got their gas on Wednesday, prices would surely go up.

  • call nimbus

  • @mogarthmad My thoughts exactly.

  • lol at 1:15

  • that may be true but done right it can save u alot seeing as how automatics shif when they want to as opposed to mamual where u can keep the rms lower and save gas. i tested it with a mamual and auto car same sise motor. the mamual trans got a quarter tank or more better fuel millage then the auto did.

  • well i wont listen to this. dont warm up you car in winter this guy must not live in michigan. and every body knows not to use a fram air filter they are terible along with there oil filters

  • Letting your car warm up IS important with todays vehicles, the engine needs to be at an even temperature before you operate it across it's speed range or things will not expand evenly leading to warping.

And shutting down and starting your engine may seem like it's saving you money, but it puts more wear on your starter, and lubrication isn't instant on an engine either. This will cost you more than you save on gas

I've been repairing engines for a long time, and I know this stuff for a fact.

  • I tried manual "mode" on my bmw since the last fill up, and a full tank got me about 340 miles!! Back with the automatic "mode", a full tank was getting me 250 miles... Huge difference!!!!!

  • soo gay...this shit will save me like maybe 100 a year...pointless little things..

  • drive standard much more fuel efficient than an auto maic

  • absoloutly not standard is much less fuel efficient than a standard and standard transmissions work the engine alot harder that an automatic

  • thats not true. manual transmissions dont work the engine more, its actually the other way around. Automatic transmissions require more effort to turn them because it has to turn a torque converter to push fluid through the transmission. Manual transmissions just have a straight drive line to different gears. do a little research to see for yourself

  • Slash down the money that you spent on Gas... HHO is suitable for cars, trucks and all kind of vehicles! There are many conversion kits available in the market, but we have to take care while choosing it. See the video response that I have posted !

If you visit the site mentioned there, you will receive a FREE copy of a 20 page eBook that describes very clearly what HHO is, how it works etc. Leading products in the market are also analysed. VISIT NOW AND TAKE ADVANTAGE !!!

  • don't listen to this video about not warming up the engine in winter. it's bullcrap. u have to warm up the engine otherwise the oil is like jelly and the pump cannot pump it.

  • I want that 1:47 back

  • Step 7? hmm...

doesnt the chevy equinox (not a hybrid) get better mileage then the ford escape hybrid?

    ???

  • get the cops to drive you around

  • step 8 shut the hell up!!!!!

  • step 16: LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A FUCKING MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!!

  • @Obsoliit ride a bike or walk

  • @Obsoliit Wuth the new 6 speed automatic now, there is little if any difference with a manual.

  • @Obsoliit easier said than done

  • @Obsoliit Automatics get better MPG nowadays because they are tuned to shift for efficiency.

  • @Obsoliit suck a cock

  • hybrids are actually worse for the environment than just keeping an older car running... think about it, there are so many plastic parts (crude oil being used to make plastic), there is so much more electrical wiring, there is more metal for the electric motors, and not to mention all the heavy metals that are used in the huge battery cell's. so the environmental impact of building a new hybrid is actually worse than just keeping an older car running and maintained

  • Buy a Subaru R2.

  • on top of that, what happens to the batteries when they need replaced? It also takes 22 years to save on gas than the amount extra you pay for a hybrid. 22 YEARS! how impractical is that?

  • @Obsoliit plus keeping a hybrid running, you have to replace the batteries every so often (3 years or something like that)

and then you have to use power from your home to charge the batteries, which comes from where? power plants. Which do what? pollute. Hybrids are stupid.

  • Step 15: Teleport

  • Step 14: For the best gas mileage! Carry the car on your back!

  • use a horse

  • idc wat ppl say engines need ot warm up car manuals dont know shit wen it comes to that the car compaines want more money

  • Step 14: Don't step on the gas pedal. That will really saves you gas. LOL! I have more but I'm done for now!

  • Step 13: Have someone pay for you gas!

  • Step 12: Walk!

  • Step 11: Ride a bicycle.

  • step 10. Buy a blue freakin Prius. LOL

  • Step 7: Buy a diesel

    Step 8: Buy a manual.

    That is all.

  • step: 9 go to your moms house jk

  • use an once of pure ACETONE for every 5 gallons to give 8 to 10 extra mpg

  • Try this as well - Replace your air intake with a cold air intake from Injen, or for you cheapskates, Bomz Racing. Then replace your Air Intake Temp Sensor with a 100 Ohm resistor to fool your computer into thinking it is running at the same temperature. Use KipKay's advice too, and like me, you'll get incredible mileage.

I drive a 1993 Mazda MX-6, and with those mods, it now gets 52 MPG, when it once only got 28 MPG. Not bad for a 4-banger with a 5-speed.

  • bs all cars need to warm up in summer or winter if u dnt ull kill ur rings and seals

  • That's not true. Not with modern cars. Every single serious car magazine/instruction booklet from every new car says that's better setting off immediately (possibly slowly) instead of remaining parked with the engine running. Obviously if you turn the engine on and spare it to 6000 rpm you want your car to break.

  • when you first start your engine, do not move off for about 10 seconds in the summer, it allows the oil to circulate, it does not move at the speed of light, give it some time to get to work!

In winter, about 20-30 seconds depending on how cold it is, it give the oil time to circulate, oil is thicker when it is colder, so takes more time.

When setting off, do not rev your car high till the temp gauge is at optimal temp, when driving to work, there is no real reason to be above 3k rpm either

  • gas prices cheaper on Wednesdays? O_0

  • Dieseeeeeeelllllllllll wtf stupid hybrid cars... And then between all hybrids what you show me? A ML Mercedes-Benz, a massive SUV..

    1) Buy a SMALL car whatever it is.. I mean, the smaller that suits your needs obviously

    2) Buy a DIESEL car if ya want to use less gas and create less pollution

    3) Simply don't go on the road like you're at Daytona!

  • That's right. I drive a diesel and I can drive like a 1000km's (620 Miles) on 55 liter. No gas for me anymore!

  • I bet it's a golf

  • No, a VW Polo ;)

  • Oh yes, we're quite there ^^

  • FYI the reason that diesel cars get more mpg is that there is more energy in the fuel than the same amount of petrol.

diesel emits diesel particulates which are small particles that cause cancer and also asthma , and diesels also emit more sulphur dioxide than most petrol cars, and this is harmful to humans, they do emit less c02 but that is not harmful to humans, and china does open new coal power stations every week, so driving a car that makes less c02 is a mute point

  • The fact that diesel has got more energy per unit than petrol is a GOOD thing because it means it is more efficient. Modern diesel cars have anti-particulate filters so they are harmful no more. They have to respect the same exhaust cleaniness laws as the gas engines so the pollution is the same.

    AND they emit less CO2.

AND they do a lot more MPG.

I prefer petrol engines but when you talk about MPG and low environmental impact it's just what you want

  • there's always a better way, check out my SBFL

    video

  • 1:01-

BS! ENGINES STILL NEED TO BE WARMED UP IN WINTER!

    1:32-

    SCREW HYBRIDS:

Get a diesel-more efficient than a hybrid and burns 10X cleaner. Hybrids are also extremely dangerous if involved in wrecks or fires

  • Wow, you tell us stuff everyone already knows and some stuff that just is not true.

New Clean Diesel cars will out preform a hybrids MPG every time and you can actuall fit your family in it! GO all Eletric or Clean Diesel.

  • Mafia guy, So now in america if you have money and do good you are mafia?

I would think someone with a screen name like yours would enjoy making money!

  • this video has obammy and the liberal pukes in the black house written all over it !!!! 3 years and 8 months and we are FREE!!!!!!!!

  • free from what ? another mafia guy will surely come in after him.

  • Is that when the Alien overlords come? Oh boy. :D

  • Public transportation: LOL. Fuck that shit. Ride with the bums, niggers, and people who have lost their license due to drunk driving? No thanks.

  • Maybe they can't afford it?

Maybe they don't sit in the basement all night long like you do?

    Wow.

    GeneralDevestation...You should really check yourself.

  • wow calm your shit you obviously dont have a car and dont hate on peopl ewho work and can afford them

  • Did you miss the whole

"Ride with the bums, niggers, and people who have lost their license due to drunk driving?"

I think you should at least be smart enough to use proper grammar before they hand you a license.

    :/

  • Who wants to get in and drive their car without letting it warm up on a 40 below Canada winter morning! I sure don't!!

  • Don't let your car warm up in the winter? Haha are you serious.

  • The replies on here are just a joke, no one has any brains.

  • i can use less fuel dont use the fucken car???

  • stomping on your break DOESN"T USE ANY GAS! You can do it when your car is OFF. how stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • The problem is petrol is wasted building excessive speed when you know you need to stop soon. Not by the application of the brake itself

  • if you want to double or even triple your gas mileage you can learn how to convert your car to use water and gas at: thegas4free.blogspot,com

  • ya lets see you jump in and drive your car in a calgary winter

  • not needing to warm up your car in winter my ass come to canada and see if you can start ur car up right away lol

  • Even though Hybrids are great, its expensive to replace the battery cell after 5 years. I read that it costs $5000 to replace the battery cell when it needs to be replaced after 5 years.

  • the not warming up your car unless your windows are foggy and frosted

the catalyst and oxygen sensor dont work right away so warming it up without having rpms higher your using more gas unless emission system warms up and starts managing fuel

basicly it runs rich until it warms up

  • Great Tips! I will tell others about this.

  • also keep your windows closed on the freeway.

  • u save more gas if u go 60 miles then 55

  • Did you know that if you have an intercooler and turbo, you can use water to help with gas mileage!!!???

See my channel for more info.

  • 0:25

    thats bullshit..

the reason why there telling you to slow down to promote gas is because they dont give a fuck about you saving money they just care about you not breaking the speed limit..

i know people that drive sometimes faster then usual and they dont fill there gas tanks up as much as normal people would..

    why? how?

because when you drive faster the fuel burns slower..

    the slower you drive

    more fuel is drained...

  • To use up less fuel you need to be in the highest gear and have the rpm of the engine not too low nor too high. 55 mph is a good average for most city cars, although with a fast one it will be too slow.

  • your a dumbass. simple automotive principles and laws of gravity tell u two things- the most gas u use is accelerating-so the faster you drive the more gas it takes to get up to that speed in a slowere amt of time. also, and object already in motion is easy to keep in motion. drive slower=less time rushing to the red light and then start from a resting point during accel. u are an idiot and u dont know shit. and nanashi85 is right-less rpm=less gas used. cruise control is great for saving gas.

  • yeha he is full of shit but cruise control is not good to save gas because when the cruise is set it accelerates to said speed then lets off the gas and when speed drops it accelerates again over and over, so it is better to just use your foot on the pedal.

  • hahaha and wtf is "when u drive faster the fuel burns slower?" that makes absolutely no sense. high rpm=more gas used. if u knew anything about burn time ud know diesel burns the slowest, gas makes no difference in rpm for burn time. we are all limited by the traffic system. driveing faster between red lights is stupid and you wont get there any faster. its a matter of timing with the lights. you are the kind of person that gets people killed because u wanna get to that red light and wait. idiot

  • Yes, his reasoning sucked balls. But he is right to an extent.

With a heavier car with a bigger engine you better off going faster INSTEAD of jack rabbit starts.

You should have a very linear and low acceleration. Break the speed limit by 10 or 20mph, and keep going without pushing the gas any more then you already do. Then start coasting. Especially if you see a red light from far away.

Thats why highway MPH > City MPG. Objects already in motion need less energy to move.

  • Tip: Don't invest in Hybrids!

  • about the hybrid it: cost more and takes more energy for a hybride to be recycled than it does a hummer... also energy the the amount of time it takes.

  • haha 00:15 00.9???? ill pay that

  • wow wait a second it said dont bother warming up the engine in todays weather, my dads a mechanic and he says the gas mileage is improved if the car engine is warmer and that it also increases the life of the engine so yeah....who is rite?

  • hey u have good vidoes, and they also say that when u use hydrogen in the tires u get more then just oxygen. He said to invest so u can pay up front.

  • You must warm-up your car during extreme winter conditions, like near or below freezing temperatures, for a couple of minutes or when the temperature needle moves.

Strategic drivings of a standard transmission vehicle will save even more gas. The hybrid vehicles will cost more up front than the regular gasoline automobiles: one has to keep the hybrid for at least 5 years before that unwisely consumer can see its savings.

  • statistics say gas prices r lowest on wednesday.....The Headline in the new? GAS PRICES HIT AVERAGE OF $4!!!!!!!!.....lol

  • jeeze MacedonianHitman, whats with all the f***s?

  • you don't have to bother warming up your car in the winter? What a fuckin idiot, as a matter of fact that will save you a lot of gas when you fuck it up and won't be able to drive anymore.

  • Thanks, I'll use this but um... forgot about tire pressure... and go to the bathroom before you go to the car so you have less crap to carry on your car.

  • Forgot the most important thing to save gas.Check air pressure in tires.

  • great

Im thinking about getting a electric motorbike

  • here is how to get more milage.... throw a match in the gas tank and it will go a couple of yards with only a few ounces =D

  • Ok, drive slower. But then you get there slower. 18% slower actually. Save 21%, lose 18%... And that 21% is a maximum, not everyone saves it. But everyone would save 18% providing you are on a straight road. So there's no difference.

  • No, you took it the wrong way. You get better MILES PER GALLON. If you go 65, you would get, 30 miles per gallon of gas in your take for instance, but if you went 55 mph, you'd get 36 mile per gallon of gas. It will take longer, but you'll save a bundle.

Since gas hit 4 dollars, I've been doing this even in 65 mph zones. I got 5 miles more per gallon, or about 50 more total. That's about 12 dollars in savings, every week, and that's about, roughly, 500 dollars a year.

  • Yeah, I told my physics teacher and he explained that the 21% saving includes the fact that it takes more time. It's because of drag, which increases exponentially with speed.

But at least now I know!

  • If God hates blind people then why did Jesus cure Bartimaeus? Fucking dumbarse.

  • so he wouldnt be blind anymore thus making god unhate him..hahaha just a thought

  • Because God is love, he doesn't hate anyone.

After all Jesus did die for our salvation.

  • test

  • It's not worth buying a Hybrid to get 6-10 extra MPG.

  • you are way off with your estimation...a Toyota Prius can give you up to 70 MPG in certain conditions..much smarter..

  • Wednesdays huh...

  • i think it's a good rule of thumb on a cold winter day to let your car run for at least five minutes before driving it. if you do an extremely cold start don't do any heavy acceleration like getting on the highway until you see your temp gauge raise a little...

  • They forgot the most important one, keep your tires properly inflated.

  • i think that goes with regular tune ups. But, they should have a least mentioned it though!

  • Indeed it IS necessary to warm up the motor. No, I don't mean you should leave the motor on for half an hour. Instead, if possible, use motorheater (Ebershbasher etc...) or try to park your car in the garrage where the battery won't freeze. Allthough it might seem like your wasting gas by warming the motor with pre-heater, it actually saves gas used for startup.

This might not be accurate in some countries with warmer winters but here in Finland at least it's necessary...

  • it is necessary to warm up vehicles in the winter. i tried that and the freaking car cut off on me lol. well then again the car is a 2003 so i guess its not "today's vehicles"

  • Yeah for once I have to disagree with Howcast, although I love their videos.

I work in an industry that deals with cars...I had to look this up once because there's a stupid law against idling cars for too long. It also said that you didn't need to warm up your car.

So I asked one of our appraiser who's work in the auto industry for over 40 years. He said it's BS...it's necessary to warm up your vehicle or you can damage it. Warming up circulates the oil & does something else, I forget.

  • The best thing you can do on how to warm up your (modern) engine is by simply USING IT. Idling the engine really doesn't help warming up the engine. And thats because modern engines are much more efficient than their older counterparts. It's actually impossible to warm up a modern diesel engine by idling it, it so damn efficient. If you want better mileage and less carbonpartikel-deposition on the valves and/or other internals you better start driving inmediately after firing the engine.
