Sheryl Lee Ralph has more talent under one fingernail than many a popular "artist". The song is in line with what Cher had done in the past but years earlier during the DISCO days... This is a case of Great Talent ... wrong Producers... period. Sheryl Lee is an extraordinary talented person who is also a down to earth sincere individual. Her positive energy is infectious and have inspired many. She was a top student @ Rutgers U. and one of if not the first female graduates in mid '70's bp
Why do you keep getting your posts removed mxh1001 ? Is it because they are so accurate and well-informed they are putting the rest of the thread to shame?
@mxh1001 Guess you haven't read the multiple comments that say this is THE 90's MIX, including one saying it is the 90's song SET TO THE 80's VIDEO. And anyway what's this song got to do with "music history" ? It is a pile of steaming dog poo and I thank my lucky stars I never stumbled across a club playing this tosh. Get back to listening to your "Now Thats What I Call Dance Music" collection you muppet
@dizzy67 I understand the comment says it from the 90’s but the song is still from the 80's and it wasn’t played in any clubs in the 90's. If you knew your music you would know that. I can respect you not liking this kind of music. What I can not respect is your vulgar opinions. Everyone has there own taste in music and are entitle to it without being exposed to small minded outright uneducated and stupid remarks from a pompous idiot.
@mxh1001 "I understand the comment" - I think you mean COMMENTS. Now please can you stop bothering me and correct Jason1966EURO, TheJamiebarden, badalnow (especially), mappam, and save a huge kick up the bum for OhNoItIsNathan who says it is the 2004 mix, but has uploaded the '96 mix just in case.
And I think you have just demonstrated perfectly my point, when you claim the song wasn't played in any clubs in the 90's. Were you in attendence at every crap nightclub in the world, every night ?
@dizzy67 I did read the other comments n I meant comment as I was addressing 1 comment. I attended major night clubs in NYC n no clubs were playing this song or any disco song from the 80s during the 90s. No I havent attended every club in the world but if they were playing this music in the 90s then good for them. Music trends start in 1 location n take time to make their way around the world but that doesnt make them crappy. U can reply to this post if u like but this is the last time I will.

@mxh1001 Well whoopie for you at the "major night clubs"... Part of the B&T brigade no doubt, shuffling around to Haddaway "What is Love" with a bottle of Bud in your hand. Wish I'd been there, back in 'da day. Going back to my original point - this song is TERRIBLE. Apologies if that offends you. Hell, you might even be Sheryl herself, in which case, I'm sure some of your other stuff might be better. But dance, soul, disco, whatever...THIS IS BAD MUSIC !!
@Jason1966EURO you're correct, it's a REMIX. Easy to prove because these sorts of drum machines did NOT exist back in 1984 when the original song came out.
Im not sure of the hisroty of this song - but in Australia this 90's version charted quite respectfully - so much so that I didnt even know there was an 80's/ earlier version to compare it with
I studied acting with her and dayed her in 77-78 and she is the sweetest, kindest, nicest most humble girl i ever knew. This was before she became a star ...since then...i have heard she is still the same.Love you Sherril if you see this this is 'Stu"
The song in the background is the atrocious 90s remix set to the 80s video. See the other versions on youtube to appreciate fully the song (esp. the Beat Box version)

Sorry but this version is a crappy 90's remix. The original 80's version was much better. The video, which is the original, is good though.
