I love it how you English rate Flutey when he wasn't even good enough to start in the New Zealand domestic competition during. He is shit, and it says a lot about the English side if he can walk in to it.
@bignikora1 He can't walk into the England team, after so many injuries and lack of form I'd be surprised to see him chosen. However, you can't deny he was quality for the British Lions back in 2009.
well it's fortunate that mortlock made that tackle because now australia is officially tougher than england...seriously, anyone arguing over this shit is fucking juvenile...just appreciate it as the good tackle that it was
We already did beat englands football (soccer) team, as a matter of fact we flogged you's, it was played in englang 2003 the score was...ENG 1-3 AUS, if u don't belive me look it up
I'll grant you that Australia is better at rugby right now, but every time the games have actually mattered, England have come up on top in the last decade.
And I do believe England are holding the ashes right now as well.
Mortlock is a extraordinary player, cut from the same block as Jamie roberts or even to some extent Jacques Fourie. A great power centre, excellent defender, and has a agressive mongrel edge that has won many games for the wallabies. Very disapointed that he injured himself before the Spring Tour, his composure, power and decision making were sorely missed.
your a wanker pugsley, you smelly poms make up all these games and yet we hammer you at every single one...even lawn bowls.now run along and go visit a dentist, have a shower or shag your boyfriend.......retard
I noticed this, Flutey got ran over by Mortlock in that test but he toughened up for the Lions sending Olivier onto the receiving end. Looking forward to seeing the two clash this november and Wilko's new hairstyle. Hopefully, Johnson will pick a decent side, don't lose hope Tait.
lions were a bit unlucky in that they had 3 of the best centres in the world (bod, jamie roberts and riki flutey) but no-one ate 10. If johnny wilkinson was fit we would have won every test im sure of it
what? So, what was wrong with Stephen Jones? He had a brilliant kicking % and he is great at breaking through the line.
Wilkinson? You've got to be joking, he's done basically nothing since RWC 2003. The problem wasn't number 10. It was the Scrums in the first test and the second test was due to some extremally dodgey referee decisions and cheat SA tacktics.
In the first game sure, the Boks completely out played the Lions as far as the scrums go. The second game was a disgrace though sorry, they won in the end but if Berger had recieved a Red Card like he should have then it would have been a different story. That O'Gara idiot lost the lions the second test.
I'd have no problem if I thought the Boks deserved to win the series, but of the games I saw (the first and last) i thought the Lions should've won both tbh. Obviously Vickery wasn't up to it in the first game - I'd go so far as to say he lost that game for the lions - but the Lions also missed quite a few try opportunities. South Africa were more clinical in finishing.
do you know anything about rugby? jonny wilkonsons has ben, and ricky flutey had 2 go and play in england because on one wanted him in new zealand. i think youve got better luck losing every game then you have winning it!
i thought burgess played a good game against the baa baas on the weekend, his passing was a bit better but it was wet and every1 was dropping it, hes a good tackler though
yes his tries came from further out but with no one in front of him.bod got his by diving underneath 18 stone forwards boots.its uglier but tougher.and wtf are u on about did u see is try against france?or italy???
Flutey got better as did England in this years 6 nations (they actually came SECOND after playing some pretty poor rugby!) and deserves to go on the Lions tour. Whether or not it's good enough for SA is a different story! And as far as the saying "we've picked guys on form" goes...CRAP! Shane Williams wasn't on song and Andy "Mr 1 dimensional" Powell was rubbish. Ryan Jones is a class act and should've played his regular 8 man position and should have gone.
voted premiership player of the year last season. joint top try scorer in this year's six nations and, unlike o'driscoll, none of his tries came from 2 yards out. england's best player of the tournament and now a member of the lions squad. hard ot get more ordinary than that
@somerandomer funny i do recall flutey getting served by the irish pack then by drico.. hence the two late hits on him by flutey.. then drico gets up and scores a try.. following year flutey gets served by drico again so he trips him and drico nearly gets knocked out by o connell... flutey is a boy, drico is a god.. there is no comparing the 2.
@twinytwo for a start, I didn't say anything bad about O'driscoll. it's just that it was him who flutey was joint top scorer with, so i pointed out that flutey's tries were actually more impressive. secondly, if you actually think the knee incidentwas flutey's fault then you are clearly extraordinarily biased.
@twinytwo no he didn't. they both went for the ball and flutey knocked into o'driscoll. anyway, the two events were so far apart that you cant blame anyone but o'connell
and..? iirc all of 4 his tries in that tournament were from two yards out. he is a fantastic player, I was just comparing their try scoring records from that 1 tournament.
also- i don't normally resort to criticising grammar and spelling online, but i can't accept being called an idiot by someone who writes 'you are' as 'your'.
correcting gramar ur very smart. well in ur last comment "iirc" isnt a word, and u dont begin a sentence with a lower case letter, or the word "and". look up Bods try v france, how many yards out was that? as for the close up tries against wales and england, do u think they are easy to score? hw many rugby matches do teams get into that position and fail to score using their front frow forwards to pick nd go? yet a small light center does it twice? world class.
@somerandomer and suggested that "all" of bods tries were from only 2 yards out and therefore easy to score. and flutey isnt that good, he isnt very consistent
@deaddonkey2010 he's off form right now. up until he hurt his shoulder on the lions tour he was consistently fantastic. since then he's been consistently poor. and by all i meant all of them in that one tournament. if i misremembered one of them then sorry.
@somerandomer ya i know. you misremembered the brilliant one he got against france. i dunno if the italian one was 2 yards out either i cant remember it
@somerandomer Mate flutey didnt even make run on for the Hurricanes team while he played in the super15...kinda says alot about SH players who come to the NH

Flutey got arrested on an assault charge in Argentina a few yrs ago after beating some kid up. He avoided jail but got fined and basically can't go back there, if I remember right.
