This woman's book about nuclear claims no people were harmed by three mile island. The FACT is that many people around the plant had a weird metallic taste in their mouths right after the accident. This is a common effect of radiation. Many ,many people got skin burns, rashes and cancers after the accident. This woman needs to get her facts straight.

Who did you hear that from, Harvey Wasserman? I have checked out the sources in Cravens book they are legit.
many people get cancer without nuclear meltdowns. in order for the argument to be valid you have to demonstrate that three mile island caused cancer in people. no one disputes that people around the plant were exposed to radiation. radiation alone is not harmful, we're exposed to it constantly. do you know anything about the dose of radiation they were exposed to and if that dose is considered harmful? also, where did you get the info about skin burns and rashes? never heard that before.
This is the message of the nuclear power industry - we need all sources of electricity. The nuclear industry is more than happy to share because they know they can't supply all the worlds needs anyway but they want to ensure they get their share. I say we don't need nuclear at all. Renewables can meet our needs and they can do so without creating greenhouse gasses or radioactive waste.
I agree, its not right to cover the desert with solar panels, cover the roof of your home instead.
