Was this the tour or something?

Or did theu just replicate broadway?

It looks and is very amazing of a performance:)

  • @pilsburydoughboy555 No, it was just a local production. However, I recall that the plant puppets had been used previously in the original off-Broadway production, and the plant operator was an Equity actor that had performed the same role in a professional production (from whom we rented the plant) prior to our production. But thanks for the kind words.

  • I luv this performance! the puppeteer is very enthusiastic! great work.

  • You know I've seen several versions of this son on Youtube and I have got to say this is the best one I've seen in an amuature production, great job.

  • from what ive seen the plant looks better and moves better than one we have in plays nowerdays

  • We actually hired the plant and puppeteer from a professional theater in Chicago that had just done Little Shop. My understanding is that all the plant puppets were from the pre-Broadway production of Little Shop, so while they showed some wear, they were of incredibly high quality and very heavy. The puppeteer was an actor named Stephen Breese, a young man in great physical shape, but even for him each performance was a workout. I recall him saying that he lost a lot of water weight each show.

  • Well, do you have one of the ones where your legs are the roots? For mine, up until the song Feed Me, I had to sit with my feet against the rim of the pot and my legs kind of scrunched up: Don't do it. You'll get MAJOR foot and leg cramps and it's REALLY hard to not move during the rest of the songs. Secondly, seeing as you'll have to sit the plant upright for most of the time you're inside. (With the one I had, I was kind of IN the top half of the mouth, with my left arm in the bottom jaw)

  • It'll probably be easiest to just keep it up with your torso. I got to lean the lower jaw against my legs to keep it closed (Legs were scrunched up, as I said) so I didn't really have to hold it up at all while I was waiting. Um. Don't drink a whole lot of water or anything before you start, even though they tell you to, because it gets pretty hot.

Oh, and what I found most helpful when I was in the plant, was to move the bottom jaw mostly. It looks better that way.

Good luck, and have fun! =)

  • Holy crap! All right, I was a puppeteer for this plant at my school, and that sucker is NOT easy to move. This one must be really light or something 'cause whoa! That's just amazing! Good work!!!! I really wish I had known this was at Cutting Hall, I would've gone to see it!

  • wasnt this filmed for japanese televsion ahile back

  • Is This proffesional cuz it's awesome but if its ameture its impressive 10 stars!!!
